Anyone going to try Texture Manageability System: Beautiful Textures?

I tried the Beautiful Textures Naturally Straight Texture Manageability System this week and filmed it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHFz0ZgoF7E

It's absolutely a form of keratin treatment although my eyes didn't water and I didn't need a mask. I don't care how they market it. I've tried 3 different brands of keratin treatment and did at least 12 of them at home. I know what a keratin treatment feels like on my hair. I wrote a full review on my blog here: http://goingnaturaltransitioningtonaturalhair.com/beautiful-textures-texture-manageability-system/

I'm washing it out well in advance of 6 weeks. I'm getting my Havana Twists reinstalled.

It seems similar to what Huetiful calls their nanoSmoothing treatment you get at their salons. I'll vouch for that working with no long term harm. I wouldn't try this system though, I don't trust the brand.

Was it easier to flatiron with this product? Does it look different when you flatiron without a product?

I ask because I would use this only if it made my hair softer, looser, etc than just a regular flatiron. Thanks!

It was the same process as flat ironing with any other keratin treatment on my hair. Imagine flat ironing your hair with a layer of conditioner on it. It's lightly coated, not heavy but weighed down by the product.

This product does not mention any specific period of time to leave the hair straight while the 3 brands of keratin treatments I've used (over 12 treatments at home and 3 in salons) have a waiting period before the first wash of 3 days....meaning dealing with coated hair for 3 days. I suspect once I wash the coating off it will be easier to flat iron.

Once the coating is washed off and the hair flat ironed again, my keratin treated hair looks the same as my usual blow out and flat iron. I usually have looser curls for a few months (2 - 3) and my hair is usually easier to detangle during that time.

Was it easier to flatiron with this product? Does it look different when you flatiron without a product?

Thanks for the review. How does your hair feel?

Ok, I have a question about this. I'm texlaxed, never had a BKT or anything like that. This sounds intriguing to me because when I straighten my texlaxed hair, it often frizzes up in the humidity. But I'm worried because my 4b hair needs moisture almost daily. If this stuff coats the hair, won't my hair dry out? I mean, how do people moisturize and seal if they are using products like this? It seems like a catch 22...

I tried it twice and I had zero long term effects. The first time I wore it straight 4 weeks. The 2nd time 2 weeks. The step 1 shampoo is an excellent clarifying shampoo but it WILL strip your color off if you have dyed your hair. Washing with their shampoo and condish didn't seem to help the product stay on any longer. The product seems just strong enough to do what it says temporarily. Which means if you wants to wear your hair straight and wash every 2 weeks I think you'd be using the treatment every other wash. The stuff really did wash right out. That wasn't really a positive for me.

i had it done this weekend and loved it---i went to the leona wilson salon in nyc...great salon...cool bunch of ladies and gents--overall good vibe :)

i was very pleased with the results...and my hair was light and bouncy--compliments all day from everyone--im a 4a and my hair looked relaxer fresh...but full of body...

Ooh can we see pictures?

Hi Boston...honestly given the direction that the board has gone in, pictures will not be posted of me at any time, but I will say the product definitely does what it says it does my hair is in impeccable condition and healthy and bouncy and straight.

i actually doubted the product a bit since my hair soaks up everything as it is very thick and dense but she used very little product and my hair is still straight even after my 30 min hot a## shower lol...its day 3---and still looks great, it is pretty humid in nyc right now too

i would do the treatment again... :yep:

Come back and let us know how your hair is holding up. Especially in comparison to straightened hair without the product.

Hi Kandake..my hair is natural- shoulder length...i had it done last saturday so its been 5 days....

my hair is still straight---roots are a bit wavy since i got wet in the drizzle today....smh

i think this is a good 7 day straight look...i applied some grape seed oil to my hair just because and its ifne

it's been very humid in nyc and my hair is holding up well...

i can tell if water touchés your hair with this--ones roots may start to curl--but this product def does what it says it does...
i also think for a relaxed person who wants to relax less and a natural person who likes a gentle product that straightens this is a great way to have a sleek straight look that is not permanent and still provides that body and shine that we like...:yep:

I bought this and used it on my natural DD on Sunday. It came out well. Do you ladies think that if on subsequent washes, would it still work if I roller set then flat iron her hair instead of blow drying then flat ironing.

I think I will try this system. When I straighten my hair, it literally reverts in 1-2 days. And my hair is usually straight at 340 degrees. If my hair would last for 1 week, I would be happy. BTW, I bought the Organix last year from Ulta...never used it. Need to tame the PJ!!!!

Im going to wait 4 weeks before I give my review (that's the time frame it claims to keep your hair straight), but so far, so good. I've been sweating and in the heat all day and my hair hasn't reverted at all.

I'm done with the Beautiful Textures Texture Manageability System. I bought the box kit and used 2/3 of the leave in that is supposed to be the active part of the system, so really, one box is good for one use. I used it on DD and it was alright, but I think I can get results that are better using Living Proof No Frizz Styling Cream and Sabino Moisture Block, and I'll feel more comfortable too. I do like the Anti Reversion Conditioner. I will use that to cowash when preparing to straighten.

Above is what I wrote in the Use Your Stash thread a couple weeks ago. Since then I've bought and used the Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight and I like it MUCH better than the BTTMS. It is more expensive, but I like the process way better and I trust the product more. I'm also not trapped into using only their products.

I never made it to the 4 week mark, but that was because of me, not the product.

The package says it's good for one use, but I've used it twice and still have left over product. I have natural, dry, coarse, high porosity hair that ranges in length with the longest being BSL. My hair is in the type 4 family with a bit of 3c in the nape.

The product is simple to use and comes with a set of easy to follow instructions on and inside the box. The shampoo says it's "moisturizing," but it's not. It acts like a clarifying shampoo leaving your hair squeaky clean. The consistency is light and is somewhere between water and a serum, but leaning more towards water. My curls were popping after I used it! I liked the shampoo so much that I would buy it separately if they offered it.

The next step is the "inter-active" leave-in. The consistency is similar to the shampoo, but a bit thicker - still lighter than a serum though. After applying, you wait 20 minutes, then proceed to the next step of blow-drying. I felt a coating on my hair after applying the leave-in, but the instructions said that could happen and it would disappear after flat ironing, and it did.

Once I finished blow drying my hair, I immediately flat ironed using the comb chase method. The end result was soft, light, straight hair with lots of swang! I didn't have the silky "relaxer look" I go for when straightening my hair though, so the next morning, I parted my hair in 4 sections and applied a small amount of oil on each section before lightly flat ironing. THEN I got the silky, just got a relaxer look I was going for. When I did the system for a 2nd time a while later, I found that again, I had to use a bit of oil to give me my desired results.

My hair held up very well through sweat and humidity after my first use. My roots are usually quick to revert, but I didn't have that problem after the TMS. I sweated way more after my second use (it was my brother's graduation and not only was it hot, but we were packed like sausages trying to leave) and I found that my roots around the perimeter did become a bit wavy, but with the use of a soft brush and a scarf, it went ALMOST back to the way it was. I didn't have any type of edge control product, but I'm sure that would've done even better. Both times I made it around 2 weeks before washing, but only because I wanted my curls back.

My hair reverted back to normal after my first use, but it definitely loosened my curls after the second.

What kind of oil did you use for the second flat iron that gave u the relaxer like results?
