Btw....thanks for keeping this post civil ladies...seems like there are mixed reviews, which I expected...just definitely wasn't trying to blast her or anything, just wanted to "review the doo" (lol)...seems like everyone got that :)

It looks good, its not amazing, but I am sure it will look better when she styles it.

OT, her skin is so great up close. She was straight up glowing!

ETA: I wouldn't read to much into that being mistaken for Indian comment. She was wearing Indian weave, and supposing they believed it to be her hair, it makes some sense.

I don't have a problem with the weaves, I think it's looks nice. The only thing I don't understand is that her hair is so beautiful and she looks so much better with her natural hair. I guess she is protective styling...

Thanks! Learn something new everyday!

Yeah, a lot of people do that. My sister has really coarse hair and she does that when she wears sew-ins for a while.

What I don't get is how to even everything out when you get ready to relax the whole head again, but a skilled stylist can do it.

I don't think there is any problem relaxing just the outer edges when one is going to get a weave and leaving parts out.

Now I personally could never leave the relaxer on my hair like that and just be sitting talking into the camera.

Ateeya got that hair of steel. My relaxed MUST be rinsed immediately after smoothing. Sometime I don;t even smooth. I even have to relax my half my hair, rinse and neutralize AND THEN relax the other half to finish it all. If I do not do it this way, part of my hair end up getting over processed and later breaking where others get under processed.

Her hair seems to really be able to handle relaxers well. I have known other people like that.

Everyone just has to learn what how much their hair can take.

I have never seen a weave that I liked lol. Everything just isn't for everyone.

i always thought Robin Givens weaves were on point. siince the 80's

eta:im not a fan but ateyas weave don't look to bad..better then 80% of the stuff i see.

I'm not a fan of weaves, but it looks good on her. Her real hair is so pretty that I don't understand why she wears weaves...I doubt she's ever heard the term protective style.

To be honest before I joined this forum like 1 year before, I had very healthy APL hair, and people always asked why I wore weave, sometimes the weave was shorter than my hair. I really wore it to get a different style, I was trying to be fly

She probably wears weave to get a different look or style. Its very easy to get bored with wearing your hair the same all the time. BTW, most people outside this forum don't wear weave for protective style, heck some of them are never seen without the weave

I think it looks nice. I can tell it's a weave though and personally wouldn't go for it if I had hair like hers, but I guess each to their own. Certainly miles better than most weaves I see out there.

I LIKE THAT SHE TRIES NEW THINGS AND LETS US WATCH. SHE REALLY ENJOYS HER HAIR AND MAKE UP AND SHE REALLY SEEMS TO ENJOY BEING ATEYA AND THATS MOST IMPORTANT
