Ok, so I LOVE Ateyaaa! Let me get that straight right upfront. I think she's beautiful, funny, and makes great and informative hair videos. Her real hair is the stuff of legends, especially for those of us not going for super long hair, she's got bounce and swing for days. But this here weave..hmmmm...I am just not feeling it.:nono::nono: It's waay to long in my opinion and just doesn't look very natural. Also the excitement over be called out as another race was a little disturbing to me as well...anyone else not feeling this doo?

Each to their own. I wouldn't go for that sort of style personally (but then I've never really been one for weaves) but I don't want to judge the girl for her choices. As long as she feels comfortable and happy with the way she looks is all that matters.

I think it would look more natural if it was cut into layers..

Me too! I know lots round these here parts are very anti-layer, but I kept waiting for them....like when she was in the chair, I was so shocked nothing else was done from that last shot there at the salon to home. I think they would have helped a lot.

Her real hair is very nice, what's the point of the weave. Anyway it looks cute on her, but IMO it looks like a weave.

Same here, I was waiting for more.. When it just hangs long and straight like that you end up staring at her hairline, but if she had it cut in a layered style then you would focus on the entire look instead and it wouldn't look so weavish.

I like Ateeya, but I watched that video last week and I remember telling my roomie that I didn't care for that particular weave. However, most of her styles are hot. I think she wears weaves as kind of a protective style subconsciously. She likes the versatility, but doesn't want to mess up her lovely locks.

Is it safe to just relax the outer edges like that?

Not trying to critique her, I'm just a clueless natural, and I never heard of that before.

I like it.

For myself I would not mind that same look but shorter. The weave was done very good, too.

I have never been into long long extension styles. But many people are. And if someone is going to do it, this weave that A' has is a good example of how it needs to be pulled off.

More power to her. Looks like she is going to have fun with this style. :yep:

I don't think there is any problem relaxing just the outer edges when one is going to get a weave and leaving parts out.

Now I personally could never leave the relaxer on my hair like that and just be sitting talking into the camera.

Ateeya got that hair of steel. My relaxed MUST be rinsed immediately after smoothing. Sometime I don;t even smooth. I even have to relax my half my hair, rinse and neutralize AND THEN relax the other half to finish it all. If I do not do it this way, part of my hair end up getting over processed and later breaking where others get under processed.

Her hair seems to really be able to handle relaxers well. I have known other people like that.

Everyone just has to learn what how much their hair can take.

i dont have a big problem with it i think it would've complimented her face more if she cut even some subtle layers or even just a few pieces to frame her face

Yeah, a lot of people do that. My sister has really coarse hair and she does that when she wears sew-ins for a while.

What I don't get is how to even everything out when you get ready to relax the whole head again, but a skilled stylist can do it.

I like it. I've never been a weave wearer, but after seeing her hair, I can't wait to get my MBL-WL hair!

I think the hair is great quality and I like the color. Honestly the stylist didn't do well with the closure section on the front... It is quite obvious it is a weave... Anyways, I love Ateyaaa and whatever hairstyle she wears she does it graciously :)
