Who has one? I do. I paid my 5 bucks and all. But its like a product will cost $4.99 and w/ the discount its like $4.89. I'm like "great" :look:.

Do you think the card is worth it? Wheres the PJ's...

u know every time I go to sallys they try to get me to get that card. If u go there frequently then it should pay for itself. If u get a lot of products there then the few cents off is still better than paying whole prices..IMO !!

I just don't go alot.. only when I run out of my much needed staples that I can't find at Walmart and other places. But I will probably get the card eventually

Well for me it ends up paying for itself. I renewed this year because they sent me a $5 coupon. I figured I may as well. The prices there on some things are better than the Asian BSS anyway. I can still; get better deals online for somethings.

it's worth it for me... i've definitely gotten my money's worth since i had it... especially now that i'm in love with the hemp hydrating conditioner... last week i saved an extra 2 dollars bc of my card... lol

No, I really think it's worth it. It depends on what you buy....some things have a bigger discount than others. I bought the card on the day I made a big purchase and it actually paid for itself that day. The rest of the year was money in my pocket.;)

I think it's a rip off because like the OP, I only save about 20 cent. I was so disappointed. Plus where I am they sell the Affirm relaxer and all the KeraCare maintenance products but with the card I can't purchase any of it. Not even the at-home maintenance sizes.

i have only gone to sallys 3-4 times since my card expired last may
i keep saying i will renew when i make a large purchase
so it will pay itself off that visit...
it probably would have paid itself already:p

if u go there alot it should be beneficial
even if it's only 1x a month

I TOTALLY think it's worth it. I shop there often enough for my card to pay for itself many times over during the course of a year. I saved more than the cost of the card when I bought a flat iron.

Since I stopped patronizing Asian BSS, I've been going to Sally's more, and that card has come in handy.

I luv SALLEY'S STORE regardless if i have the card, i leaves it at home anyay.

CHECK THIS OUT i stay in memphis tenn the asian opened a BEAUTY SALON STORE RIGH BESIDE salley store side by side WHY!!!

I GUESS ITS A CHALLENGE between BLACKS/ASIAN its really gettin serious so if salley's to high i go next door i goggle between both stores.I do my monthly shoppin around 5th of month if i need extra stuff, then i stop by

k-mart
rite-aid
walmart
whatever near. yes salley's card worth it i renew mines next week.

I don't shop there as often for hair products but between what I will spend for nail stuff, tweezers, plastic gloves, plastic caps, etc it's still worth it, especially if I'm not shopping what's on sale. I normally save at least .50 to 1.00 or more per item.

What kind of flat iron did you end up getting :look: ?

And how much is the card again? Isn't it like $5? I don't have to renew until February...since sally's is across the street, it definitely pays for me to have that card  . I also get general products there: mani/pedi equipment, etc.

I just got one of these cards recently. Sally's may be a little more pricey but I like that they have a variety of hair and nail products. I hate driving. so I like that it's a one-stop thing whenever I need beauty items. Plus my local BSS, ran by hispanics, is not that much cheaper. They've raised alot of their prices and they don't carry many of the "good" products. To me, the card is worth it.At only 5 bucks, I spend that on a carmel frap and coffee cake from starbucks. I also have a lil PJism, so I need to save all the money I can :)

it is soooo worth it! It pays for itself. Some products you get a full buck off. I picked up a heating cap and got 5.00 with my card. Just that alone was worth the card.

Yeah, and fresher/not out of date either:look: Plus the service is really great and the fact that they have REAL licensed cosmotologists who know about the products that speak English and don't use the "n" word helps too...:look:

it wasn't worth it for me. if i ever got any discounts, it was never large enough for me to take notice and be happy.

For me, no. Most of the things I'm interested in trying Sally's doesnt have or I can buy at Walmart.

FYI: You may qualify for a free card: (1) If you live in a college town, you may get your card free w/University ID. (2) If you have a military ID you may (depending on the store) get the green or the beautician (used to be pink, I think) card for free.

*Ask questions cuz each store/sales person is different.

It wasn't worth it to me, and I went a lot..but since I found that Kings Beauty tends to carry the products I want or look for, keep them in stock, and sells the cheaper...I just drive across the stree to Kings.

NOW, that might cost me a bit more money, but only because its next to Borders books...and that's my store...:D

Just a friendly word of caution: Not all Sally's employ licensed cosmotologist. I worked at two different stores while in college and there was only one self proclaimed licensed person on staff.

I think the card comes in hand. I agree that it does depend on what's purchased in order to get alot off.

DEFINITELY! In our area (Baltimore) there are Asian BSS's on every corner in every neighborhood. Even the "dollar stores" have more beauty supplies than other items. So in every block, there's at least 2 or 3 stores that basically are BSS's. Now for example, my Elasta QP glaze (large 8 oz jar) is 7.99-8.99 in any BSS I could walk into. Online, I can find it for about 6.49, but once you factor in shipping, it equals the BSS pricing. But, at Sally's with my card, I can get it for 5.99!!!! :) There's one that's right near my bank so it's convient. My card has paid for itself OVER AND OVER! I will surely renew once the time comes.

It's worth it for me as well. However, I wish my local Sally's was as nice as the one off of York Road in Baltimore--a 45 minute drive for me.

crlsweetie, which Sally's do you frequent? And what is your fav BSS?

You know what Melodee:
It's hard to say. I hit a lot of them. For right now, Sally's is my main one cause I am bunning and not much else. But, theres a great new one on Harford road, Parkville area that's called Hopkins Beauty supply I think. They have EVERYTHING!!!!!!! That's where I got my first 5 lb tub of Motions Moisture Plus. I also hit one on Greenmount avenue. It's in the hood but it's close to my home/work/church!

Totally worth it. It's just like a gym membership. If you go once/month you pay $30 each time. If you go everyday you pay $1 each time.
