anybody else ever grossed out about using "real/human" hair on their head?

Much of the "human' hair that is sold is not real HUMAN hair. This is one of the reasons people can use bleach baths and fabric softner to revert human hair "lace fronts" back to a silky feel.

Try washing your hair growing from your scalp in BLEACH and see how it look and feel! :nono:

That's real bogus...then what's all the fuss about human hair if it isn't human? Why is it still considered superior?

I wouldnt really call it lying...........its just a "machine made" human hair.:look:

And they calling it "100% HUMAN HAIR when they advertise it for sale." Then it is 'bait and switch'. I have never seen it advertised as MACHINE MADE HUMAN HAIR. Things that make you go....hmmmmmm. bonjour

Yep you are so right! Only a small percentage of the hair has to be human hair, (something like 18%) for it to be legally sold as human hair. The rest of the hair bundle is a mixture of synthetic and some other animal mixture the consumer isn’t even aware of….hhhmmm.
Now that grosses me out!

Oh the truth just keeps getting worse!!!

I have never really thought about it...

There are far more disgusting things we do than wear "human" hair. At least the hair isn't going into our bodies, unlike all the food we consume, or hotels we sleep in, or public transportation which all makes human hair seem completely sanitary.

Have y'all acutually seen who prepares your food, how that food got here, what farm did it grow on, what fertilized that food, etc., etc...

Human hair doesn't bother me at all b/c it's really not THAT serious... it's everything else I freak out on...

:lachen:

That's lying!!! The best a machine can do is 'human-like' hair. :lachen: Simulated human hair. Imitation human hair.

Or, are the machines some sort of freaky half machine/half human petri dish hybrid?

All I'm saying is that if human follicles were NOT involved, it ain't human hair.

Uh Huh............I feel ya!

I guess because it can be curled, dyed, and laid to the side- unlike synthetic hair.............it can be call human because it behaves much-like human hair.

The concept of using human hair itself, doesn't bother me.

It's the extortion of women for their hair that bothers me more - a lot of the 'Indian' hair that is sold is taken from religious donations (which, as a person of faith, horrifies me), and a lot more of it is taken from women who get 20 cents for their whole head of hair.

I would no more buy human hair than I would buy a diamond - too much modern day 'wage' slavery involved in both......

Wow I had no idea about this! I was able to find an article about it:
