There has been alot of herbal natural talk here lately.... I love that!!!!
I thought I would share a couple of the things that I have done lately that have been WONDERFUL...........especially for the heat of the summer

Peppermint Rinse

20 drops peppermint oil
5 drops tea tree ( optional)

8 oz of distilled water

put this all in a tint bottle. Use as your final rinse........

According to www.motowngirl.com Peppermint oil is know ans a natural pH balancer...........
But - the cool feeling lasts and lasts. I love it.

Intense Rosemary Spritz

1/2 cup rosemary ( hey you can get it at the Market!!)
10 drops rosemary eo
10 drops tea tree

2oz aloe vera juice ( optional)
1 oz glycerin
1/2 oz jojoba, avocado or coconut oil
8 oz of water --- Make a tea - steep for at least 2 hrs. Strain....Mix other ingredients into spray bottle.. Leave in the refrig - and use in a week or so :yep:

It is a very strong tea and Rosemary has wonderful benefits!!!

We are so on the same page. My friend gave me a batch of fresh peppermint from the garden. I laid them out in the sun over a day and dried them out, crushed them and put into hot distilled water and let sit a day.

I strained the liquid and added a bit of preservative. Yesterday, I whipped some into my DC and WHOA! did it feel like heaven. Scalp felt so awesomely fresh throughtough the 1.5 hour DC. Constant freshness!:yep:

I will be using this throughtout the summer (hopefully my friend will feed my fix)!

I've done something similar. I have had folliculitis on and off since 2005 (I lost a LOT of hair the first time around:nono:) and I used a mixture of peppermint, rosemary, sweet basil and tea tree oils in a water rinse to cleanse, heal and soothe my scalp. It was so refreshing:yep:

Has anyone done this????

I haven't done it, but I will now. When I first heard about Carols Daughter, I got her peppermint shampoo....i loved that feeling (tingle)/scent it gave. I love the smell of peppermint.

ETA: I hated how my hair felt after using CDs peppermint shampoo

I'm about to go raid my daddy's garden right now... Haha.. I hope he doesn't realize some missing peppermint leaves :lachen:

Girls after my own heart. I do this with garlic as well. I'll cut up a clove, lightly steam in distilled water and use in concoctions meant to be rinsed(because of the smell I don't leave it in). I never would have guessed that I'd be doing this sort of stuff for my hair. I already did this as tinctures to drink. I'm having fun doing this!!!

Oh yeah, I just ordered some rosemary and thyme EO's.

I remember my grandmother doing this. I used to try everything she ate or drank and definetly remember the garlic steeping. I must've made a horrible face because she busted out laughing.
