acv rinse

I'm like Nonie, I condition then acv rinse. No rinsing after the acv. Every single time I do it my hair is SO soft and shiny; it never ceases to amaze me. It's one of the things that I do that I always notice a difference with. I also add some wheat germ and hemp seed oil to it (not a lot), just to keep the hair super-soft. My hair genuinely loves this stuff!

I also condition and then acv rinse. But I rinse after the acv  I guess I haven't been experiencing the full benefit :/

I have a few questions...
If acv rinses are used to clean and clarify, why do some of you shampoo as well?
If I use acv as my final step of my wash will I have a problem with my leave-in and/or moisturizer absorbing, since someone said my cuticle will be closed?
Can I use baking soda rinses in conjunction with acv? If so, how?

Thanks!

good questions, Theresa. I was considering buying a bar of ACV shampoo. Which might be a bit backwards, if you're meant to use it first.

as of late, i cowash every week w/ a conditioner-acv rinse. hair hair has never had so much shine when it dries. it also wet-combs a lot easier and i NEEDED that!

I don't know the answers to all your questions but I do not use ACV to clean/clarify. Alkaline products, IMO, like baking soda are what strips hair and clarifies.

I have used S Curl after ACV and haven't had any problems with moisturizing my hair.

Baking soda is alkaline, ACV is acidic. An alkaline and an acid neutralize each other. So not sure how people use them but what would make sense to me is to use baking soda to clarify first. (Baking soda leaves your hair's pH high and abnormal. It also leaves cuticles open (which is why I will never use BS again; I loathed the way it made my hair feel).) Then follow that with an ACV rinse, which would close the hair cuticles assuming you shift the pH from alkaline to acidic and not just to neutral, bring the pH down to a more acidic one and normal one for your hair.

ACV rinse after conditioning makes my hair feel soft and is what keeps my hair detangled after being 14+ weeks post.
