Once Upon time

I am not Cinderella waiting for the slipper to slide on my feet
I am not Snow White waiting on Prince Charming to wake me from my sleep
I am not the princess tossing because of a darn pea
My relationship is not a fairytale, nothing but reality

I have laughed when it was going good
and I cried through the bad
there were times when I was so happy that
I thought I could never be sad

One time he made me so mad
you could not even imagined things that crossed my mind
then I heard a voice say
Remember, how mad you made him the last time

There have been times, I'm not gonna lie
When I wanted to throw in the towel
then I remembered the vows I made
when I promised to give him my all

He is a man who holds it all within
but when it is time to lighten his load
I am his closest friend

What about happily ever after
I thought that was how it was supposed to be
It only truly exists when you make the dream a reality
