A half wig that looks like real relaxed hair?

anybody know where I can get one? any website recommendations?

I'm not talking about shiny weave, I'm talking about synthetic or natural that looks like real, relaxed (or just real AA) hair.

I wanna know too...but the thing is, each person's relaxed hair is different. My hair is healthy so when it is relaxed, it almost looks like silk and people have asked me if its my real hair. While I have seen others who have just gotten relaxers and their hair still looks......I don't know...

The ones I've found that look the best, are those that are around the same length of your hair and are straight (not curly).

Also, for my synthetic wigs, I douse them in baby powder and then shake them off so that the shine is eliminated. When I took my braids out last year and wore a shorter half wig everyone thought it was my own hair b/c there was no shine to it.

Hairsisters has some nice wigs. Let me see if I can find some for you.

Baby Powder????

That is Awesome Thanks!

Yeah girl. LOL. I read about that on BHM.

When I first read that, I was like, "huh?"

But sure enough, I tried it and it works. You may have to apply a lot depending on the wig. If it's TOO much and you can't get it off with just shaking it, then use a wig brush. It really does work.

I have annointed myself the half wig queen and I have yet to find one that is like AA relaxed hair. I really think there is a market for a good quality half wig. I have a kinky straight LF that is dead on for relaxed hair- but that was $300 and I would not want to pay that again.

I usually stick to curly wigs, cause they seem to blend a bit better. **sigh** I just want something that will blend with my hair, where I do not have to use heat on my leave out hair.

You read my min AJJ....just this week I went to the EPRT (the best weaving hair ever) to see if they had any on their site- they did not.

I always wash my wigs in the sink filled with a little shampoo to get the shine off before I wear them.

I bought my first half wig. it matches my hair good when I flat iron my natural hair. It is a sythnetic hair.

I wear Outre's Ursula....

The Human Hair half wig Rochelle is worth the price:

It is about $45 but it looks and feels really nice. I get constant compliments when I wear it.

Can someone link me to EPRT? And how does the half wig stay on. I think I would be self-conscious with a wig worried about whether it would blow off. But I REALLY need to give my hair a break.

EPRT is Extensions Plus a hair store and web site..... the RT stands for a type of hair " Relaxed Textured"...... I love love love this hair...... one of my best installs was with my EPRT... gurl you couldn't tell me nothing.

their site is www.Extensions-plus.com .......... I don't think they sale half wigs ..... but if they do it will probably cost an arm and a leg.

btw: thanx curlmama for the suggestion, I had been eyeing that rochelle so I thk I am going to go ahead and get it.

They have a wig section on the web site- that just says coming soon........ It may be worth checking in with one of the chinese vendors that makes half wigs to see if they could make a half wig.

Chelli- half wigs come with combs that you just anchor in your hair. They are very secure. I am at the point where, I don't even use the combs anymore and just secure it with a couple of bobby pins.

I bought one today! I LOVE IT!!

I'll be back to post pics later. And it was so cheap! $19.99 and it looks like my real hair!

Protective styling is RIGHT!

I attempted to order a half wig from China- but the vendor was acting cute so I had her refund my money through paypal (she actually did, lol).

I decided to cut up my kinky straight lace front wig and make a half wig out of it.

I took some pictures as I went along-if any one is interested..

I was so pleased with myself- the only drawback is the cost. But it matches my hair perfectly.

I also found a cheaper synthetic KS half wig- it is called MotownTress Modifi. It is a little wild, I wouldn't wear it to work, but I would rock it all weekend long. It was only $20- I love it.

I tend to stick with curly- or KS wigs because my hair is texlaxed and I don't want to bother using heat to blend. HTH

This is a 3/4 piece made by the company called "Quick Weave". I love it. I've repurchased several times because I thought it matched so well. But OP you decide if this is what you meant by matching relaxed hair.

And another thing that helped me was when I found Ateyaa on You Tube. Check out her videos and trust me, you will feel very happy running out to get your wigs...and yes, they look natural.

I prefer the short more "realistic" styles over the longer ones. I guess as my hair grows, I can accomodate the length of my half wigs to the length of my real hair.
