i still want to see this type 1 black woman everyone is talking about. i dont deny the "black gene" can reach into the type 2's ive seen it, but never type 1. i think its a myth.
ill have as much luck seeing a unicorn in my backyard. :|

Who is everyone? :look:

I dunno if there are any type 1, naturally-straight-haired black women with no racial admixture. I do know of a few that are "brown" but mixed, with type 1 or 2a-ish.

WHHHYY!! That is hilarous...oh the tears...my chest. Thanks for the humor too funny!!

"everyone" speaking in general. some claim that black ppl come in all sort of colors , sizes, with all sort of hair and hair color. and i think thats true ... to a point. im just saying ive never seen this elusive black woman with type 1 hair.

lol...I know, and I am sorry. But I have found that a lot of times when it comes to topics like this it is very important to be clear about what you mean.

...this has also been building up for a while and in some places I probably rambled on more than I needed to.:lachen:

I agree with everything you said...and is good to be clear or the post becomes "heated debate" which is highly unfortunate.

There's no arguing there. People of all different hair textures could be forced to relax. There's even some people in the 2's that feel the need to get rid of their natural wave. There's always exceptions to every rule, but honestly, if you stood a person with type 3 hair next to a person with type 4 hair in a public square and asked everyone who "needs" a relaxer more, who do you think the people are more likely to point to? I'm not saying that nobody with type 3 hair ever had to face a relaxer, I'm just saying that it's more prevalent with people who have hair in the 4's.

Better yet, put up a pic of Zahara next to a pic of Nahla, and see who needs a headband or a barrette or a comb and who doesn't.:yep:

I think another great example would be the choices of models pantene chose to use for the "naturals." I mean, they both look 3ish. AND have gorgeous hair, but I guess, I just feel as though there are many who think that there is an "acceptable" version of what a Black woman's natural hair is supposed to look like and I don't think it's 4b/cish.

My 2 bff's are both dark brown with 2b-3c hair. One of them has hair so straight I can't believe her stylist agrees to relax it, yet she insist on getting it relaxed every 13 weeks like clock work.

I've seen very dark skinned women with type 2 hair. But I have never seen a black woman with type 1 hair.

I do not post pictures and even if I did there would be an excuse. Believe what you may from who you may about whatever you may. I hope it gets you far.

You're right, but if you were a PG, you would probably talk to other PGs and not the Cs or PFs because they don't play the same position that you do.

Very true but then again can a PG tell me everything about basketball? Learning from other positions isn't beneficial? :perplexed Of course it is beneficial to learn the whole game and all the positions. Also, all PGs do not play alike. So even amongst PGs information varies.

My point is, only learning from one source limits your potential. Discrediting someone or ignoring someone because they do not share as many similarities as you think they should (besides being a woman attempting to grow out her hair) is silly. :look:
