2017 Use Up The Stash Challenge

I finished up my The Mane Choice Ancient Egyptian Oil this weekend and purchased a bottle of Jamaican Black Castor Oil for my edges.

I'm tossing the Garnier Whole Blends. The honey made me itch. The olive oil has mineral oil and made my shower gross. The coconut water made my scalp itch. I don't even want to try the Cranberry/argan oil one. Who knows what it will do.

I'm also tossing my Mielle Organics gel. It flaked on me twice, and I've read from others that it flaked on them as well. I feel wasteful this week

I finished a couple of samples the week and have now added product to my wish list. I did not actually buy anything...yet.

I should have my final quarter numbers up on Saturday or Sunday

I bought some hair/body butters that I was going to use during the winter on my body, but I don't like the scent, so I will use them on my hair:

1. Keirenae Chill Butter
2. Keirenae Natural Butter

I used up quite a few oils this month and a few other products. I'm done with the avocado oil, rosemary eo, jbco, and mahabhringaraj oil. I also finished a jar of Shescentit Curl Moist conditioner and a jar of XCEL-21 cream hair and scalp revitalizer.

I purchased Mielle Organics Honey and Ginger Styling Gel.

I used the Mane Choice shampoo, conditioner and leave-in. It left my hair very soft and manageable. I will probably repurchase these when I run out. I'm going to use them each week in October to really see how they work.

I twisted with Alikay Naturals Creme Brulee. I only have a few uses of this. If I wear my hair in a flat twist out for a few days, I will use this to reset. I layered it with TGIN gel to see if I could get some hold. Not sure if it's going to work. I have 1/2 bottle of the gel left. If it doesn't work, I will just be heavy handed with it when I put in my flat twists. It doesn't really work for anything else.

I'm using up stuff but buying things just as fast. I bought 2 things from YvetteWithJoy and I like both of them. I bought the Camile Rose Ginger Rinse and the Mane Choice gel. I bought the Mane Choice shears from her website so to avoid paying shipping I bought the 24 Karat gel. Then I went to the bss today and bought Elasta QP Soy Oyl Shampoo and picked up a sample packet of Aunt Jackies coconut something leave-in and gel.

I have a few things on the floor in my bathroom that I am debating throwing in the trash. I will decide in the morning.

I guess I will take a break from shopping.

I didn't reach my goal of getting back to 50 products, but I am happy to have moved a decent amount of stuff out. I was good about using up samples as soon as they came in (because I hate hair care samples) but this took me away from using up the full sized products. I also clearly need to stop buying shampoo. I think I have enough now to last me until 2020.

I actually don't have any goals for Session 4, just make sure I don't go up in any area.

Second Quarter final update:

Since my last post I've used up 1 Daily Defense Tender Apple rinse out and given one to DS, given my Softee Argan Oil grease to DD, and bought SSI Restorative Hair Mask. This brings my third quarter totals to 5 items gotten rid of and 2 items acquired, not even worthy of a photo.

I just haven't been moved to venture near my stash, update my list, etc., etc. Sigh. I've taken on a heavier workload, and DS's schooling changed, and so I haven't been on top of other things. I'm going to pray someone babysits both kiddos soon so I can have a day. Phew!

For the remainder of 2017 I will focus on making room for Aveda products to trial in Quarter 4 of 2017 and on prepping to follow a CurlyProverbz-based regimen in Quarter 1 of 2018.

I like the Mizani Moisturfuse conditioner. I haven't repurchased in a while but it was great. I also still live for most of the Silk Elements deep conditioners. I have 2 tubs of the moisturizing treatment.

And my hands down fave deep conditioner is original or GVP Nexxus Humectress mixed with castor or sunflower.

I had put the TGIN twist cream in a give-away pile but pulled it back out and started using it again. The TGIN shampoo is under the sink. I will use that to clean my combs and hair accessories. I purchased Elasta QP Soy Oyl shampoo. I used Elasta QP shampoo years ago and remember being able to shampoo my hair without tangles. I wanted to see if it was a fluke. It wasn't. It works well on my hair. So far sulfate shampoo works better on my hair than sulfate free.

I also bought Argan Oil One and Only Reconstructure Conditioner or something like that. I haven't used that yet.

Don't think I will use up anything this month but I will keep working on that TGIN twist cream.
