That poor chickadee! She would have been better off doing it herself. I understand many reasons why she'd want to have it professionally done but it wasn't done professionally. And to top it off she's out all those dollars. Most of us have been there. Many stylists I've encountered don't respect natural hair and what you've put into it, if you tell them you want it fried, that's what you're going to get! The video says it was a natural hair salon and didn't the stylists have locs?

At least she had positive attitude about it. I think I would have just curled up in the fetal position after all that progress down the drain.

Knowing what I know now about my hair and damage...I would've punched her in her left boob for all that heat.

i got heat damage from my salon visit a few weeks ago. I have some straightish pieces in the front and a bit in the back, which is where my hair is finer than the rest. Also when wet, some pieces on the right hang lower than the corresponding pieces on the left. But truth be told it did loosen my curl throughout my hair and my hair overall is a lot more manageable than before so...:look: and if nothing else, I can cross this particular stylist off my list and it has taught me to stick to my guns. i went in asking for a rollerset and flat iron, she talked me into a blow dry and flat iron. I will be walking my happy butt down to the Dominicans next time cause they will roller set and flat iron like I want.

Honestly I dont think her hair looks that bad at all. But i get being miffed if your hair isnt doing what you want it to do. And her hair didnt even end up looking all that great. Her hair would have turned out straighter and bouncier with 2 passes of a flat iron!

1. I can't believe she actually sat through all that, geez!
2. There was other things the stylist could have done. She could have rollerset and blowdried or flatironed, or blowdried and just used a good quality flatiron.
3. It wasn't even styled in the end, like wtf!

EEEEEEEEEEP! :pullhair: This woman has a great attitude. I don't know WHAT I would have done.

I would have kicked that stylist's a$$ after her 3rd pass then left.

I'm getting my hair flat ironed tomorrow and I asked how many passes she does. With the pressing comb she does one and with the flat iron she does 2.

11 Passes! whew. I get nervous when I might need to do 1-2 additional passes.

Poor girlie. I love her personality and makeup. She just won over a new subscriber. Thanks for sharing OP.

She paid too much for a style she only planned to have for 1 day anyway. It's also ridiculous to sell hot oil treatments for almost $40?!?... Her hair look dry and not treated at all.

...It only got worse from there. She does have a good attitude though considering she's already gone natural twice and has another setback.

WOW. It's good that she is taking it all in stride, but she could have prevented this.

Am I the only one who expects one to use salon products at the salon? First she has to bring her own products. Then the products the stylist does use are ORS. I mean ORS is ok. I have used ORS products but if I am shelling out for a professional job, you best to pull out some professional products.

Omg no!!! I would have got up and left as soon as I felt her do more than 2 passes or at least said something! And her hair is stiff sticking out not good at all. This is supposed to be a natural salon?

£25 for a hot oil treatment? Are they mad?
You could tell she started breathing heavy after like the 3rd pass.
Was that he protectant she was putting in at the beginning, didn't look like she put it in very well.

when you see the amount of smoke/steam coming from the iron that woulda alerted me that this was not the best idea...smdh

Hi Ladies,

I mean...my thing is...it ain't even #laid. I coulda done her hair for the freeski and had it lookin better-than-professional and NOT heat damaged.

I was wondering when someone was going to address that. Can you imagine what getting a shampoo and condition would have been like? Breast fed at that shampoo bowl :nono:

:lachen::lachen::lol::lol::lachen::lachen: This made me laugh so hard and so loud

Ima just be honest, this in general is kinda funny. I'm not sure why some of yall think she wasn't happy with her services right after it was done. She sat up with a "I'm cute"grin and flipped that lifeless hair over her shoulder. I'm sorry but this is laughable. Its kinda like that girl who let her stylist put her relaxer on her hair from root to tip and she was waist length....ummmm these people aren't mentally challenged, they paid for the services without a fuss, they were conscious....I mean what am I supposed to say, poor baby? I can't do it, I can't pity her.:nono:

A hot oil treatment before blowing out straightening your hair?
I thought it was best to deep condition the hair prior to heat styling?
this is horrible :nono:

I looked at the video again and it was straight enough after ONE, maybe two passes. That pressing comb was at like 450+ degrees and she didn't use heat protectant. If that was it before she blow dried it, she was very stingy with it. Oil sheen before pressing???

Back in the day when I allowed by hair dresser to use stove heated irons on my head, my hair was BONE straight at least. Like, silky, shiny, straight.

Ugh, I used to get marcel irons done on my hair. My hair straightens pretty easily and those irons made my wet hair look relaxed. That was before I cared about wearing it curly though. I just wanted swangin' hair.

I go to an Aveda salon. My stylist (hispanic, not that it matters) blow dries my hair with a round brush and does exactly one pass with the flat iron..that's it. It's straight (not bone, 95%) and reverts back when I wash it.

I would love to find a cheaper black stylist who has the same type skills, but its really hard to find. Unfortunately most adhere to the "straight by all means" motto, resulting in the shown heat damage.
