I guess I'm in the right thread. I would like to ask a moderator or the owners, why among the rules of this forum there is:

"43. Same-sex relationships are prohibited from being discussed on this forum."

I'm confused: why is it prohibited? Why are man-woman relationships ok to be discussed? I ask this because my opinion may strongly differ from the one of the owners of this forum and therefore I may not continue my subscription. I strongly disagree with homophobia: as long as this is not the case, I will continue my subscription, otherwise not.
Thank you.

The bigger question is why the discussion of same sex relationships is prohibited, but bashing them is totally okay.

I wasn't even trying to offend anyone but it's not like LHCF is the place for activism for or against anything.

No point in huffing and puffing about it on here.

I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. It's nothing complicated really.

Do I believe they should have rights? Of course
Do I care what they do in privacy? Nope
If they have civil unions, I don't care either.

Marriage is a holy sacrament and that is (or should be reserved) for union between a man and woman.

My friends know how I feel about that. I don't force my views on them and they don't force it on me either. Friends have disagreements all the time, doesn't make me love them less.

I don't agree with this but I think it's a nice respectful middle ground. :yep: People who want gay couples to have NO rights [visitation, medical etc] confuse the heck out of me.

Some might consider me an anarchist but unless it's relevant to or affecting me personally I don't gaf what other people in their personal lives. Don't care. Everyone should be able to have equal opportunity to have a choice---regardless if I or anyone personally else agrees or disagrees. Hell, it ain't my life.....

Quoted for emphasis. That has been attitude forever. As long as you aren't harming me or a baby, you good.

People should not be bullied or shamed into agreeing with gay marriage. It's a matter of personal opinion.

I know some dudes with hoods who feel the same way about rights for Blacks, and other minorities. Thankfully we live in the United States, where Everyone...regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation, is supposed to have equal Rights and Protections granted by the US Constitution. The Constitution trumps personal opinion.

This! I pretty ambivalent about the topic, but why some feel that people should have to justify to them why they don't agree with gay marriage is absurd. The far left is as bad as the far right in that regard.

Wow. I'm speechless right now. :nono:

Ya'll late.

Yep can't discuss same sex relationships. But I thought it was limited to the relationship forum. That's the only time I've seen a thread closed is when someone was asking for advice on their same sex relationship.

This topic always brings out all kinds of emotions and strong opinions.
Ya'll need to learn to agree to disagree like many folks on this issue. Everyone has different beliefs, values and reasoning for all kinds of bs on the innanet and irl. As long as folks try to have a discussion in a respectful and fun manner w/o breaking the forum rules there shouldn't be a problem.

As for the WHY question its a business. The owner doesn't have to give a reason. If we can't deal with the rules, hypocrisy, double standard etc we can unsubscribe or chose to participate in threads to our liking. No one is forcing any of us to be here. There are too many other forums that we can join and talk about all kinds of things.
Heck some of those place have free membership. I'm not getting why folks stay here and complain all day everyday. When I don't like a business I don't support it period point blank. I take my business elsewhere.

Being gay and being black are not the same thing.

@firecracker I guess it's time for me to go then. I asked first because it's my way of doing things: I very rarely criticize, but I respectfully ask. I simply like to know in detail what I am doing/supporting/leaving, as a consumer, citizen, friend or person. In the future I will pay more attention to the rules before subscribing to anything (my fault).

Just when I started using LHCF's most annoying phrase, you have found a perfect rebuttal. I had to pull it out for yardy this week .

I'm sorry to see you go over one aspect/rule on this forum but the rules were put in place for a reason. Look how heated this thread got. Most every thread dealing with gays, out of wedlock women, religion, sex and abortion get out of hand here. Heck these folks find a way to fight about hair products and make up so without certain rules and regulation this joint would be the wild wild west like loads of other forums are and have been. You've been here a number of years but maybe you are not active and lurk so you were not aware of said rule. Again sorry to see you go. The hair section has loads of real information. That section alone is worth way more than a lousy $6.50.

Thank you for writing this. I am definitely wrong for not to reading attentively the rules. As for avoiding the wild wild west, that would be a reason that I understand. Especially if other sensitive subjects were banned too. Like sex and abortion like you say. There are many. Possible homophobia without clarifying: not. Anyway, enough with my personal opinions, I chose the wrong way and moment to realize about this. Thanks again, I appreciate your concern.

Yes they are....they're both humans, deserving of equal rights and protections. See how easy that is? :yep:

I disagree

Black people were fighting for HUMAN and civil rights. Gay people. regardless of race have HUMAN rights and civil rights as individuals.

Gay people are fighting to have the rights that are afforded to a male/female couple, they're fighting discrimination based on their sexuality.. not their humanity.

@Morton ok if black and gay is the same why do I have a brother in Christ that is no longer gay and is married with a son? I know several gay people that have stopped living that lifestyle. You cannot decide not to be black like you can decide to stop being gay/living that lifestyle.

I'm not against gays getting married, civil unions or homophobic but I'm sorry that is like comparing apples to oranges. You gon die black but you don't have to die gay if you don't want to. Folks make different lifestyle choices everyday and some feel they were born gay. I don't argue with an already determined mine.

I don't think gay men can ever be 100% heterosexual. Maybe just bi in love with a woman but he probably still gets aroused off of penis.

No amount of prayer can change it IMO.
