1st JCPenney Salon Experience..PIC HEAVY!

Lovely, they did a great job at the JCP salon you went to...Glad you found a stylist you like and seemingly can trust with your hair.

Yup. That's JC Penney for ya. If you find the right stylist, they're amazing. That's where I went for my touchup in March :D

Your hair's looking great!!! Need sunglasses for that shine

 Your hair is gorgeous! I'm glad you had a good experience at the salon, especially because it seems like such a rarity to have stylist that has a clue :ohwell:.

:weird:So I got a relaxer at JCPenney Salon and LOVED IT!:yep: Very nice experience. 16 weeks post relaxer and she used Affirm Sensitive Scalp. This is gonna be my go-to relaxer now because I experienced NO :burning: on my scalp whatsoever.

She was ON TIME! I barely sat in the waiting area before she called me up. Didnt even have time to open up a magazine. She based me up and let it sit in my hair for a lil' bit while she rollerset another client. She was fast and asked questions.

She said she'd like to use other products like Affirm Fiberguard and Phyto, etc. but being that JCPenney is more of a corporate salon type atmosphere, they can only use certain products.

What she know about Phyto? LOL

I said NO scissors and she listened. I said NO crunchy, setting lotion and she listened. In fact, she used some Joico K-pak Leave-in..What she know about Joico?!

AND, she used a RECONSTRUCTOR on my hair BEFORE neutralizing!! Who does that? No one knows about that! Affirm 5 n 1!!! That stuff is NICE!! She kept laughing at me and my questions. Kept asking what kind, whats the brand, who is that by, lemme look in that dye bowl first, etc...

Suggested a Demi-permanent rinse instead of semi since i complained of always having to do rinses. Think it was called MATRIX Prizms in Black. LOVE IT.

My hair turned out so pretty...until I went outside in the humid heat and it turned into this:hair:. But i ran a little KeraCare essential oil through my hair, popped in my rollers and the next day it was nice and fluffy.

Price? Never spent this much on a relaxer/style in my life.:ohwell: But I will pay it again because it was a good experience. Great time management, professional, I even got a coupon punch card, etc.

Was kind of different getting my hair done right next to Becky :look:..but i'll gladly leave traditional salons for better service.

Please DO NOT QUOTE PICS, yall know how we hate that and these pics are too big for all that mess! THANKS

Your hair looks beautiful. See, some stylist do listen and learn.:lachen:

Beautiful. Didn't read the thread so forgive me if these have been answered.

How did you pick the stylist at JCP? Was she black? I'm nervous to go to large chain salons.

She did a good job!

The last relaxer I got was at JCPenney. I paid like $100-something altogether, but I really loved the job she did with my hair.

Not the OP, but I will give my experience.

When I went JCP, the woman at the front desk found a Black stylist that was open. Lol, our JCP is segregated, so there were White stylists on one side, and Black stylists on the other.

The only thing you should be worried about going to JCP is the price. They are very professional and knowledgeable about hair.

 Yeah she was black! I didnt get to pick her. I called up the salon to ask prices then told her i wanted an appointment. I knew that they had white and black stylists and the chances of Becky putting a relaxer on someone was VERY slim.

She told me who was available for my appointment time and i asked if they do consultations or can i come and see her face & hair before my appointment.

So I went in one day before my appointment just to look at her. She seemed nice and her hair was nice so I felt trust and kept the appointment. I asked her a couple quick questions and she asked how i liked my hair styled, etc. and thats it.

I didnt mind the chain salon feeling. Its a trade-off. Yeah, she cant put a lot of different things on my hair and i cant be cheap and bring in my own products but I loved the time management, no one is gonna come in selling bootleg DVD's, high-end products, etc.

Beautiful! She did a really great job on your hair. I'm glad you found someone that you can work with and who listens to you. Your hair, BTW, is in really great shape. :yep:

WOW Mz. Brown: You Hair Looks Great. And it was also good to hear that you had someone that really listened to what YOU wanted. That always makes for a Nice Salon Experience (that you didn't have to go in their and Cut a Fool):look: That YOUR Wishes were followed.

Not only Beautiful Hair. Great Story. Thanks for Sharing.:yep:

Your hair looks great!! I went to JC Penny maybe 10 yrs back and did not like the way my hair turned out. It is nice to see that they have improved their service!
