Saving my spot. I'm on my phone so can't post a pic or change font color so I'll do that later. My hair is 8 inches all around, 4a, medium strands and density. Any buddies?

Yeah, I kind of have the same questions.

I actually like the idea of this thread. Can someone create a spinoff for those whose hair is longer than 7 inches?

tHENATuRALhAiRpRoJEcT. Why such a lofty goal of 6 inches retained in a year. Many of us dust at least 2x's a year which will not afford us the full six inches in a year.

I want to join but I know that even though I gain 6 inches (actually 6 1/2 in the back) I dont keep it because I trim and/or dust.

for many of us, that's what our goal is

we'd love for you to join.... my goal is to retain every single inch this year

journey if you join... all yous need (that's how the jersey housewives say it:lol:):drunk: is a partner! I prefer every to have at least two partners... we want to line up comparison to match our retention efforts by sight as well as measurements

(I am definitely a visual personal... most inspired by such)

but please join.. we need you!!! :grin:

This could be fun. I just did my measurements.

Nape: 8.5"
Side: 10"
Crown: 9"
Front: 10"

Hair Type: 4a/3c

Regimen:
- Shampoo, Cond, & DC every other week (alternating between moisturizing and protein DC.)
- Co-wash on opposite weeks
- Detangle weekly w/ a modified Conair Denman dupe and plastic wide-toothed comb.
- Protective Style 5/7 days in the week. (I'm in a protective styling challenge for the summer.)

Upcoming:
- An attempt at Yarn twists. :grin:

My Length –approx. 10in

MY REGGIE::
GROWTH AIDE::: MEGA TEK Scalp Mixture (Vitamin E, Tree Tree Oil, Black Seed Oil and Olive Oil ) I wll be applying it 2X-3X a week and getting a weekly wash & set at the salon with a Nexxus Moisturizing Conditioner.
Currently rotating two products when I DC -CON ARGON OIL packets and IC Vitamin/Protein reconstructor)

I currently and will continue to moistuize and seal every night with Profectiv growth and moistiure and sealing products 2x a day, once in the morning and once at night. I also shampoo with Nexxus Therappe. I will also be taking garlic suplements and using a garlic shampoo and conditioner when I wash at home (2X month)

PS:: (1)I will also be keeping my hair for the majority of the time in a PS like a bun.I would like to get maximum growth and retention from streching and low manipulative styling
(2)I alternate the sides that I wrap my hair. I find that this helps with over manipulating the hair on one side and helps with breakage.

I hope there are some people with my length as well. I will do my best to retain 6'' or more!

My reggie consists of;


  • Shampoo once a week, with either Capasal/Bee Mine Rhassoul Clarifying Bar/Dr. Bronner's Castile Tea Tree Soap.

  • Cowash twice a week (once after shampoo) with either GVN Tea Tree Triple Treat/Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine/Dr. Organic Manuka Honey Conditioner.

  • DC once a week with either a protein (JBCO/egg with oils and cayenne pepper OR bentonite clay/rhassoul clay/brahmi/tulsi/amla with oils and cayenne pepper (every two weeks I'll use juice from crushed garlics in mixture).

  • Adding leave in everyday twice a day - either GVN Direct Leave-In/Bee Mine Lovely Daily Con/Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie

  • Seal hair three times a week with Vatika oil

  • Scalp massages minimum of three times a week - mix of oils - Avocado oil, Bee Mine Growth Serum with Sulfur, JBCO, regular castor oil, tea tree oil and rosemary oil

  • Spritz hair before adding leave in or just to refresh throughout the day; Bee Mine Daily Moisturising Spritz/Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Hold and Shine Moisture Spritz/Afrocenchix Daily Moisturising Spritz/water with aloe vera gel, tea tree oil and glycerin.

  • Once a week before hair wash (either cowash or shampoo), a black or green tea rinse.
Internal regimen;

  • MSM 2000mg a day
  • Hair skin and nail vitamins
  • Fish oil tablets (without added vitamins)
  • 1.5L of water.
I will be protective styling for six months, check progress, if all is well, leave hair out for bit, then protective styling again.

Yay!! I've got my two retention buddies....Anybody on any growth aids??? I'm taking Omega 3,6,9 but idk if it could be considered a growth aid.

exactly. Im here saying MY 6 inches at the nape looks more like 4 inches compared to some of these ladies. :nono:

hmmmm I want to join ... a year is such a long time though lol
 
@DayDreamist I think we are abt the same length.

I will check and update when I get home. I think Im abt 7 inches in the front, 6 at the crown and 5.5 - 6 at the nape ... not sure abt the sides

ETA :

7" crown

I think I have a mixed of fine strands at the crown and nape, and medium strands every where else. Supposedly I'm a 4a/3c mix if you believe in that sort of thing, LOL.
