My goal is to strengthen my hair and retain the length that I already have. And also thicken it up.
Current Length: My hair is cut into a asymmetrical bob because of damage so one side is longer than the other and I just have different lengths all over as well.
- Left Side: 6-6.5" Right Side: 9.5-10"
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: Left Side: 18" Right Side: 22"
(I will probably end up cutting my hair to make it even)....
Starting Pic: I am new here so idk how to upload a picture
For the rest of this month:
1. Working out 3-4x per week; walking 30 minutes on the days I do not exercise. I have to keep moving, or I become complacent.
2. Netwurks Xcel-21 spray once daily
3. Water and castor oil/EO mix 2-3x per week
4. Keeping up on my supplements (subject to change)
a. MegaFood Multi for Women 40+
b. MSM 7-9g
c. B-complex
d. ACV capsules
e. Enzymes each time I eat
f. Fo-ti (once a week)
g. Chlorella ½ tsp
h. Vitamin D 4000 IU
5. Increase my water intake
6. Increase vegetable intake
7. Coffee soaks 2x weekly, may try guava, black, oolong, or green tea
8. At least one oat water treatment/wash
9. Loc Soc to sleep in, subject to change
10. Cover my coat collars with smooth scarves, puffs on collared clothing days
11. Reduce multiple teenagers-induced stress
12. Keep documenting hair and health
Count me in!!
Current Length: shoulder length. Not sure of exact inches.
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: MBL...I think? Lol I'd be fine with BSL though.
Hair Type: natural 3c/3b, normal porosity except for the front of my hair, it's high porosity. Fine/medium strand thickness, normal density. Some parts of my head are more coarse and wiry but my hair isn't insanely thick. I'm not too sure about all the deets yet, I'm learning lol
How am I gonna get there?
Daily vitamins
60 oz of water a day
Exercise 3 days a week
Eat right
Hot oil treatment and deep condition every week
Shampoo with sulfate free shampoo (I'll clarify when needed) every 5-7 days
Inversion method once a month
Keep my ends moisturized!!
Protein treatments as needed
Keep my hair stretched and do styles using rollers, twist outs, etc.
Limit heat use! Experiment with heatless styles
Keep hair covered with satin scarf/bonnet at night. No exceptions!
And most of all, patience!!
Starting pictures are attached.
This is the one I am using, but there are others at better prices.Where are you getting your ACV capsules? I never knew they came in capsule form!!!
I'm joining! I'm also terrible at challenges but am finally getting serious after all these years.
I'm grazing APL, but won't take pics until the end of this month or early January because I wear my hair in PS- havana twists- 99% of the time, so I won't have my hair out until then.
Regimen- PS with havana twists, steaming 1x/week, alternating Njoy's sulfur oil, Netwurks Xcel-21, and Camille Rose growth oil
Internal growth aids: biotin and pantothenic acid, matcha green tea and chlorophyll
Shampoo days will include henna, deep conditioning, and blow dry.
Hi! Do you do your twists yourself? What (edit: brand) of hair do you use? How long have you been PSing with Havana twists? I hope you don't mind the boatload of questions... I think the Havana style is so pretty. Haven't tried it myself yet, but I want to!
Sorry, I should've been more clear. They're crochet braids from havana twist/mambo twist hair. No, I don't do them myself; they'd look horrible, lol. I use the Janet Collection Havana/Mambo twist. It's probably been about 1.5 years now. I had a setback on both the right and left sides of my hair (not paying attention), so I'm just now grazing APL.
