Alright, so my hair suffered steam damage from last year so for me there's going to be a focus on strengthenin and gaining thickness.
and I'm really beginning to hate flatironed hair for length checks, so ............I may possibly just do tension blow outs on length checks going forward.

Current Length: CBL
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: MBL.

Ending Length Having Achieved last year's results: Nipple lg in front, full BSL in the back.
Ending Length Having Retained the basic 6 inches: 2 inches above nipple lg in front, 1 inch below APL in the back.

Starting Pic:

REGIMEN
-Mild shampoo and fermented rice water rinse once a week.
-Trim/dust once every 3 months.
-Protective style under wigs.
-Light application of Grapeseed oil on hair once a week.

SUPPLEMENTS
-Bamboo extract.
-Collagen.

Let's get this hair in shape because I SHO' feel like shaving it off!

My goal is to strengthen my hair and to retain length And also thicken it up. :D

Current Length:
My hair is cut into a asymmetrical bob because of damage so one side is longer than the other and I just have different lengths all over as well.
- Left Side: 6-6.5" Right Side: 9.5-10"

Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches:
Left Side: 18" Right Side: 22"
(I will probably end up cutting my hair to make it even)....

@trueimage. When you're making a reply, next to the 'post reply' button is the 'upload a file'.
Use that button to upload your pics.

Current Length: I dont know exact inches but its lower lip length in the front (when pulled) so thats about 6 inches when I measure from my hairline down to there. My hair grows evenly so I'll only be keeping track of the front section for the 12 inches to keep it simple. I think this is better since I know exactly which twist I'm using to keep track, but when I try doing the sides and back I can never remember which twist I used and it ends up being 5 inches one day and 8 the next. I be crooking my neck all type a ways, using a completely different section and damn near ripping my tape measurer to get is stretched all the way. So believe me this is the most accurate description I can supply you guys with for now lol!
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: (About) 18 inches when measuring from my hairline down in the front like I did today. I want my front twist to touch my chin without pulling :D.
Starting Pic: Wool pic 2 from 12 2 2016.PNG
This is from my monthly retwist today. I already posted this in my own thread but yeah. It's bad lighting and there's clay on my iPad camera from an experiment of mine. But anyway. :rolleyes:So you can see the twists in the front that are above my eyes. I want those to be to my chin (or almost there) by the end of this challenge. :afro:

Good luck to everyone! God bless.

Let me hop on in here!!!! Be back with stats and pics....

Current Length: SL in the back and EL in the front.
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: Between BSL and MBL

I'll provide an official measurement after wash day.

Nice and thorough description of what you're going to do. Good job!

Isn't it so exciting when you think of how long your hair will be in one year? Like, even if we don't get the full 12 inches it will be a good amount longer than it is now with proper care. Just imagine it  It'll hang lower (maybe framing your face and laying on your shoulders for my above shoulder chicks out there), and possibly even be thicker (for those who want that). I know for me it'll be twice as long as it is now or more since I big chopped almost 12 months ago. I'm excited  Imagine if we could really do it?

Washed my hair today!!!

:gorgeous:*PRE-POO: Extremely diluted KCNT and KC hair polisher. I finger detangled and comb my hair in sections. I let sit for 15mins.
:gorgeous:*CLEANSE: Shampooed with KC Come clean
:gorgeous:*DC: Diluted tressume curls undone for one hr. I further finger detangle/comb my hair in sections and loosely twist them. No rinse out
:gorgeous:*LEAVE-IN: Water & a lil KCNT (my DC is still in my hair)
:gorgeous:*STYLER: Water and KCC
:gorgeous:*POLISHER/OIL: KC, hair polisher
:gorgeous:*STYLE: wng

I'm going to let it air-dry for alittle bit and then difuse it with my new dryer

I'm in!

Current Length: BSL
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: TBL
Minimum goal: WL

I doubt that I'll get the whole 12 inches but that's fine. I know that I'll be able to reach WL by the end of the year as long as I stick to my regimen. Gonna try and check in regularly

Starting Pic: Below

REGIMEN
-Wash 1-2 times a week with Shampoo bar
- Deep condition when needed
- Seal in moisture with Olive Oil and Shea butter
- Finger detangle
That's all

I'm joining! I'm also terrible at challenges but am finally getting serious after all these years.

I'm grazing APL, but won't take pics until the end of this month or early January because I wear my hair in PS- havana twist crochet braids- 99% of the time, so I won't have my hair out until then.

Regimen- PS with havana twists, steaming 1x/week, alternating Njoy's sulfur oil, Netwurks Xcel-21, and Camille Rose growth oil and

Internal growth aids: biotin and pantothenic acid, matcha green tea and chlorophyll (or chlorella/spirulina), Phytospecific Cap' Energy or Phytophanere hair supplements

Shampoo days will include henna, deep conditioning, and blow dry.

Hi! Do you do your twists yourself? What (edit: brand) of hair do you use? How long have you been PSing with Havana twists? I hope you don't mind the boatload of questions... :look: I think the Havana style is so pretty. Haven't tried it myself yet, but I want to! :D

Sorry, I should've been more clear. They're crochet braids from havana twist/mambo twist hair. No, I don't do them myself; they'd look horrible, lol. I use the Janet Collection Havana/Mambo twist. It's probably been about 1.5 years now. I had a setback on both the right and left sides of my hair (not paying attention), so I'm just now grazing APL.

Thanks! Yes doing the individual twists yourself is near impossible. I tried to do it with Xpression hair once and it was a major fail. I'm sorry you had a setback... seems to happen to a lot of us. Just part of the journey, I suppose. I hope you have better luck in the future!

I'm joining this time!

Current Length: 21 inches in back, 22 inches in front
Goal Length Having Retained 12 inches: 34 inches!!!!! :happydance::headspin::supergrin::walking::thud:
(That would be mid thigh length or right underneath my behind!)

This will be the first time in my hair journey that I am focusing on growing my hair beyond WHIP/ Hip length. I want my hair to touch and lay on/over the top of my behind.

My high level plan:
  • I'm a huge proponent of green juices (not smoothies), so I'll do those. Lots of natural, organic sulfur.
  • Protective styling : baggy-ing hair during the day, doing whole head baggy at night.
  • Keep every single strand bathed in moisture and sealed from root to tip.
  • Continue with my vitamin regimen.
  • Deep condition with heat using my home-made coconut milk conditioner.
I look forward to seeing everyone's gorgeous updates. I like the support and encouragement in this thread and in the one from 2016.
