1(1/2) inches in 3 1/2 weeks!! (pics)

Congrats OP! I guess I"m not one of the cynics and I believe what you say! I've heard about the horrid smell and that was enough to turn me off! LOL but it looks like you made it work for you!

Would love to try the MTG, but I just know I couldn't keep it up with the scent and all.

Kudos to you OP, and well done on your progress! :yep:

Congrats on your progress OP.

Some people need to concentrate on improving their own busted head and stop ragging on other people.

:blush::eek::blush: lol

congrats OP, MTG worked great for me in 2005/2006 I acheived A lot of growth and mega thickness, but some of the strands were wiry/coarse.

I used to take out the cade oil, put coconut oil and emu oil in it and mask it with essensial oils, :lick:smelled lovely.
i loved me some MTG, IT was a great growth aid.

Glad you found something that works for you. I wasn't able to use MTG, I could not get used to the smell.

I guess we'll never know unless LG decides to come back and enlighten us. Let me know if she does though, I have to step away from the computer and tend to my busted head.:yep:

It's up to you if you want to attach yourself to my comment.

Congrats OP...great growth

I don't understand the skeptism EVERY TIME somebody says they have acheived a certain amount of growth from doing xyz...is everybody a liar??? Now on the the flip side, I have looked side ways at people before about certain things as far as how long they are claiming their hair is and if it's real or something like that but for the most part, I give people the benefit of the doubt until I see other wise. I do believe growth aids work and have my own experiences with them but I also believe they only work for a certain amount of time and/or give different results as time goes on. I guess you can't make people believe if they don't want to so all you can do is be happy for yourself and keep it moving.

Hi marie170:hiya2:

Where is the love people. I for one, appreciate everyone who posts things that worked for them, with or without pictures. To me pictures are the extra mile. It is then up to me to research the product and decide if i want to try it. If I try it and it works, great. If I try it and it doesn't, that's ok too. I will find something to use it for. I just don't get all of the negative undertones. The op did us a service by posting at all. If you need more proof, buy a bottle yourself, and you can post all the pictures you can take and post. As far as I know, she is not getting a kickback from promoting this stuff.
If I found a holy grail product I might not want to post if I didn't have a thousand picks. And then think of how many people who could lose out on a good product. Unless she has cracked the time code, I don't think she can go back in time and take more picks, so let's keep it moving.

Congrats on your progress OP.

I was wondering why this thread was so long...

I honestly came in a few days ago when the thread was originally posted, but chose not to say anything because I'm also skeptical when it comes to this type of stuff. The pics didn't help me see the growth that the OP claimed to have. But if she says it works for her, then good for her. I don't plan on running out to buy MTG, though. :ohwell:

I don't see what everyone's getting their knickers in a bunch for. I don't think people who ask to see good comparison pics are being unfair. When I had by BC in Feb 2007, I really thought it would take me 3 years to get to shoulder length. But when I pressed a section of my hair as an experiment to answer a thread on whether 4B hair shines w/o product, I was so happy to see I had made shoulder length in 16 months. I shared a pic of that because *I* myself knew I had made huge strides.

But there are people who didn't think that the comparison was fair. I never stretched or pressed my BC hair so it would be clear what change I was talking about. In other words, I was comparing apples and oranges. Even though *I* knew the growth was better than I expected, I could also see where they were coming from. After all, my shrunken hair now doesn't look that much longer than my shrunken hair back then in Feb 2007.

And while I can't go back and demonstrate how really short it was, I take no offense to those who needed a better comparison pic. And I think if we can be open-minded, we will understand what those who are asking for better pics aren't against the OP, but just like to see fair comparisons.

If you show a before pic that shows where your hair fell in the past, then a fair comparison one would be one showing where your hair now falls--or after your relaxer--hence the calibrated T-shirt. If you are going to show growth at the roots, then show us your roots in the beginning of the experiment and then your roots later. I mean, is there any experiment that's ever done without keeping all things constant?

In the recent quest for 2 year progress pics, I realized that since I didn't take good comparison pics in the beginning, and shrinkage hides the truth, that where I put my puff holder really tells a lot about how much longer my hair's gotten since I normally put the holder as far back as I can without the hair sliding out. For shorter hair, it's closer to my hairline. For longer hair, it's further back. So that's what I will use from now on, until I can have more pics of my pressed hair to compare with the ones I already have. As for where I started from, I guess that'll just have to be forgotten since it doesn't give a clear picture.

So if I were OP, I would not sweat it. I didn't sweat it when people weren't that convinced/impressed by my growth. But really it is MY growth and I do it for me and I am happy...and I figure if that wasn't just a once in a blue moon miracle, it will happen again, and then the proof will be in the pudding. If it doesnt' happen again, oh well. Still I got to enjoy the spurt while it lasted. So rather than cry over spilled milk, because as you OP said, you didn't document it well because you didn't expect it, just wait till you get a touch up and then post a photo like your 4/8/09 photo. You don't even have to share it if you don't want to, but it's really exciting just for you to see the change side by side, even if no one else sees it or celebrates with you.

Thank you everyone for your support. I appreciate all of your comments.

I think that it is a shame when stuff has to become so negative. So it goes on forums...

Like I said earlier, dissenting voices are welcome, but it seems to avoid a llot more conflict if people just post their skeptisism and well wishes and move on.

It often feels like people are trying to uncover the latest conspiracy. I'msure that there's been a time or two when people have come in here just for the attention and made bogus claims, and the skeptics smoked them out. That's great, bu tthat isn't everyone.

This is why I think that some mindsets should change around here. I don't think that we should be totally just believeving everything that everyone says (there are some hucksters out there) but I think that we make it difficult to share success.

Thanks for this post. ITA with everything. I for one am for being scientific when it comes to such things. But unfortunately that isn't always possible. And i guess that I can't see why we can't all celebrate and keep moving.

Phillisophically, why does there have to be skepticisim? Why do we feel as if we have to bust someone's bubble because we feel like they are wanting to see something that isn't there? Why does the hair forum have to become a courtroom?

Great growth, OP. I am a skeptic about some things, but not to the point where I would call anyone out on it. It's not that serious :nono:

The dog yelping thing was funny, I've never heard that :giggle: I might have to add that to my toolbox.

I dont know if i've pointed this out to your beofre, but you've had some good success. Esp. for two months.

I don't think it's bursting a bubble. At least, that's not how I viewed it when someone asked me whether I had a before photo of my hair stretched. I honestly believe they wanted to see the jump. In other words, most of us are visual creatures and if you say you grew X inches, it's not easy to see in our mind's eye what that translates into. A picture speaks a thousand words, so they just want to see what that looks like.

I do not believe anyone on this forum wants to knock someone down. I think we are all rooting for each other. I cannot think of a thread where progress was documented well where the person didn't get kudos for her growth. But the difference in that case and in ours is, theirs were GOOD comparisons. Hair was in the same style (I remember a ponytail comparison) or roots were shown after a touch up (coz the OP was so pleased with how smooth they were) and then she was thrilled to feel growth and shared those roots later. While in the case of this last poster, it may just have been luck that helped her have a good before pic, people were very excited for her and no one questioned the growth. But in our case, we aren't showing hair in the same style or comparing similar images. So surely, we can understand when some ask to see a better comparison. I honestly have never gotten the impression that people here want to knock anyone down.

This is exactly how i feel. Her pics are fine w/ me. I'm sure she wouldn't have measured her newgrowth w/ ruler and all, post the pics here if MTG didn't work for her. That's just a little too much. MTG has been around on many hairboards. There are a lot of old MTG threads. I feel like for the people who didn't have enough proof or don't know of MTG should do a search. Point Blank.

If folks don't believe that the OP obtained all of that growth, why don't folks just try it themselves? I don't see the point in all the nay-saying. The OP shouldn't have to "prove" anything to anyone. And even if she comes back with "proof," it doesn't mean that everyone will have the same results. So to the nay-sayers, try it. If it works for you, then rejoice. If not, oh well, just do what works for you.

OP, great progress!

I got GREAT GROWTH with Biotin in three weeks. 1.25 inches in my crown! (I wish it were that way ALL over my head but I'm happy. I didn't anticipate that growth either which is why I didn't think to take before pics.

My scalp literally hurt and itched so bad I stopped taking Biotin because I was scared.

I totally agree with the above statement. Lets say you did use MTG for three weeks and didn't get as much growth as the OP did, would she be lying then? MTG may not do ANYTHING for you while it may work WONDERS for me.

I just take people at face value and don't care if they are lying or not. THEY are the ones that have to face themselves in the mirror in the morning, claiming APL when they know they are just SL

(not saying this is the case but this is an example)

Lying on this forum doesn't benefit anyone...not even the OP. (unless selling something which we KNOW the OP is NOT doing)

I've started on Biotin (among a few other things). I'm wondering what kind of growth I'm gonna see with that and MTG. I've also thought about getting some monistat (mainly for my front, I need something that isn't going to be drippy.

Lord some of you will never be pleased. You ***** when people don't have proof, and when they do it's not good enough. Then have the nerve to make a request

Great progress for such a short period of time jcsavestheday! (Compliment and KEEP IT MOVING...it's not that hard :lachen:)

I agree...congrats on your new growth girl!

MTG worked for me! I got awesome growth from it! My hair grew so fast, I had to touch my hair up too often. I also got one expected side effect from MTG. It made my hair super resistant to relaxers. I will not be using that, though. I will stick with Boundless Tresses becuase it smells so good! I hope it gives me the same benefit of MTG.

I hope that I do not have that problem. :perplexed
