1(1/2) inches in 3 1/2 weeks!! (pics)

Lord some of you will never be pleased. You ***** when people don't have proof, and when they do it's not good enough. Then have the nerve to make a request

Great progress for such a short period of time jcsavestheday! (Compliment and KEEP IT MOVING...it's not that hard :lachen:)

WORD!! Couldn't have said it better.

Jc does it really smell bad? Ive heard about it before and people say it smells like bacon grease. But you seem to have good success with it. Congradulations.

It does stink. But I cut the smell (a little) with EVOO and pepermint oil. It also helps that the bottle I have is a couple of years old (it helps just a tiny bit).

But overall it stinks, and I can smell it in my hair even after a CO wash and DC. I pretty much have to clarify with a mix of baking soda, clarifying shampoo and ACV (just enough to cause the chemical reaction and make a foamy paste). It forms a paste that I can then use to lather my hair and scalp enough to get rid of the smell.

Thank you jc, i need something to help my front grow. My back is taking off but my front is just:nono:. Im trying to be patient but the more the hair grows the wierder it looks. Im using castor oil at the moment to see if it will help. If it doesn't in a few months i feel i have to turn to something else. Im kind of afraid to use growth aids but i feel like i might have no other choice. Can you please keep us updated how your hair reacts to this over time. and if you are having any side effects like extra shedding or bumps anything like that. I would really appreciate it.

What's wrong with asking for a picture?

She said she got 1.5 inches of growth in less than a month. That's amazing. I just wanted to see it.

Agreed.

But the pictures didn't do anything for me to be honest. I need accurate comparisons. But since the OP knows it works hopefully we will see them in the next 3.5 weeks.

HHG OP! I'm glad you have found a way to mask the smell of that stuff!

My hair is the same way. my gront has always grown slower. I actually forgot to use MTG in the front for about the first week of use, but the front seems to be doing nicely. Its difficult to know b/c it grows in at a looser texture and is kind of fine (hoping MTG and vits help to change that) When my stylist relaxes my hair she does that part dead LAST.

Right now everything has been good with the MTG (except the smell :nono:) but even that isn't too bad if I don't use too much.

The only side effects that I've experienced has been itching and some soreness in my scalp. The soreness was nothing major, though. Very mild. Nothing that I would even tell anyone to second guess. My advice is if you expereince a little sorenesslay off of applying it for a few days. If it persists, wash the MTG out. If you're still sore for more than five days to a week after COMPLETELY washing it out (as in clarifying, I recomend a baking soda paste) then you probably shouldn't use it.

The itching also ceased for me when I stopped applying.

and of course if you experience andy extreme comfort, discontinue use.

Another piece of advice that I would give with MTG would be not to overapply. Even if you put it in a carrier oil, MTG has a tendancy to separate from said oil and be a stanky, runny, greasy mess. :nono:

I'm debating on whether I want to start taking vits. I guess that I should do a cycle w/o vits as a control to see how much of a reslult I get with MTG alone.

If I were real experimental I would to MTG alone. Vits alone and then MTG and vits...but then that would be extremely scientific...which would make me happy on some level...

:offrant:

I've also pondered getting some monistat...

Honey i haven't thought that far yet:look: but i thank you for responding, try the vitamins and see if that helps. Im going to look into some also to see if it will help me before i turn to growth aids. There is nothing wrong at all with using them but i feel if im afraid or having doubts it might not be for me. And also i appreciate your honest review on mtg, we are here to share and learn from each other.

Good growth OP.

You've provided enough proof for ME.

Or maybe not....

So we're going to need EXIF data of the photos, a ruler, before and after pics, a holy Bible and your attorney present to confirm this story.

J/K

I thought about MTG as well but still have a full bottle of Megatek and eyeing a bottle of OCT. Biotin gave me a lot of growth in my crown area 1 1/2 inch from in that span of time too. My scalp itched so much, I took Benedryl and my scalp was hurting as well.

So trust me I UNDERSTAND! : )

I had good growth with MTG and the smell wasn't that bad. The only problem was the oiliness. I might have to try it again. Thanks OP.

I'm not denying your hair growth. I'm just saying that since your original pics did not focus on new growth it can be hard to tell for us viewers, what growth was there pre MTG and what is there post MTG. You have two completely different sets of pics in early April and May.

She's not saying somethings wrong w/ it. It's just that around here people always want proof (which I understand)and when proof is posted, sometimes it's not enough. That goes to show, you can't please everyone. She posted the pics she had. Clearly if she had more she would of posted.

all of the pics of my new growth are from this month. I had a relaxer in April and started using MTG a week post. If we take off (a generous) 1/4 of an inch to account for the fact that my relaxer probably wasn't done right next to my scalp, i still have a lot of growth.

I guess that I didn't expect to run in to this much skepticisim about some hair growth. I'm from Missouri (the show-me state) where we have a reputation for being skeptical and over analyzing things.

I guess that I haven't established myself here enough to have credibility for some people. I figure that if a person is like " hey I had a bunch of growth, here's documentation" that people would be like "wow that's good."

I mean why would anyone make something like that up? I mean I know my hair better than anyone, so I think that I would pretty well know if it has been growign more than usual.

oh well...

Wow - I'm impressed. I thought some of the pics looked a bit more than 1.5 inches- that is fabulous. My dh couldn't hang with boundless tresses, i shudder to think how he might have reacted to mtg.

congratulations - i'm really happy for you!

eta - you really have to give a grain of salt to naysayers. if you'd had pictures from the fresh relaxer until now, then someone would have complained that there is no date, so you're fudging the dates. you keep doing what you're doing.

Personally, it had nothing to do with you or whether you've been around long enough. The first pictures just weren't a good illustration of what you were posting about, IMO.

Believe me, I wasn't questioning your credibility. Well, not anymore than I do the thousands of other women on this site who I don't know personally.

I mean why would anyone make something like that up?

In my experience on this board, it is rare to see pictures that illustrate proof of growth in a manner that is straightforward. I don't think that it's because people are trying to lie to others. I think they just convince themselves of things that aren't there. And women here, who want so bad to grow their hair, would rather deny what they're seeing so that they can continue to believe that what they're doing is working.

aww OP.. I feel bad that you had to write that last post ... The majority of us believe you.. well at least I do...Congratulations and keep doing what your doing because its working

This is the part that I don't understand. I understand wanting someone to substantiate big claims that they're making, but I guess that I was pre-supposing a level of trust to be present in making claims.

I think that it can be off putting for anyone to share their succes with anything because of people seemingly waiting in the wings to disprove, discount, and discredit.

I'm not saying that it isn't okay to voice concern or doubts. That is a healthy part of life. But I've noticed even in other threads it seems like people's claims are put on trial by some folk. I kind of think that it can be read as hostility, even if it isn't intended that way (I don't feel anyone was being hostile, but someone else could).

I feel like this is supposed to be a place where we share in one another's successes and setbacks. Why is it that we don't demand proof for setbacks? We take a person at their word that they've experienced one.

Why can't we do the same for successes, especially when said person attempts to provide documentation and isn't just making idle claims.

Perhaps we should think about this...

just sayin'

:offrant: before the thread gets locked.

I'm quite happy for you with your growth progress. Thank you for continuing to post pic after pic after pic with rulers and Bibles and attorneys (that was HILARIOUS SuperModelSonya:lachen::lachen:)! I used MTG for only a few weeks because the scalp pain was more than I was willing to deal with at that time...maybe I'll revisit it. Congrats to you and keep doin' what cha doin'!!!

Basically. . .

And I'm not saying I don't believe OP or she hasn't had great growth regardless of the actual inches. . .b/c it appears she has. But I don't see what's wrong with wishing for a clearer illustration or anything anyone said.

As for me personally, I never quite understood why ppl measure inches w/ rulers and stuff anyways. It's more about what you retain more than what you grow. I'd love to see your hair's length after your next relaxer :yep:

I digress, however. HHG OP and I love your hair's thickness! I'm glad MTG works for you :)

I hear ya.

But I just question how prudent it is to question everything. Its like we're taking a Mythbusters/Judge Judy approach to accepting people's claims.

I'm not citing you in particular, because I really don't pay a heck of a lot of attention to usernames, but I have often seen where threads become a courtroom of sorts where a person's claims are put on trial.

Although I think that it is wrong to silence dissenting voices, I question how prudent the current status quo is.

seriously - don't worry about them. some people will always doubt. think about it - god couldn't even convince people who'd be waiting that the messiah had been sent; thomas didn't want photos, he wanted to stick his hand into wounds before he would believe. you could take a thousand pictures and have each one notarized, there are still people who would raise a fuss. ignore them.

I'm going to the notary tomorrow to get a signed affadavit from my husband and our two renters that they've seen said hair growth. Along with a pastoral reference.

I guess that it wouldn't help that I'm a youth pastor...:lachen:
