Your Ends Look Thirsty...

I love your hair as is, you've done an awesome job. Your fotki is indeed hair porn. If whom ever though it was a big enough deal to comment on then they should have added their own suggestions. Its like they are pointing out "see your hair isn't all that" due to their own insecurity. Don't let it burn you since the defect is in them, not you.

Are you serious, you hair always look good. I would have never thought, someone would leave YOU that type of comment. Ediese, laugh and get it moving.

It's obviously some immature person who wants to hurt your feelings. You might have added fuel to the fire by posting a thread about it. Don't give that person any power over your feelings. My Fotki is only open to people that are Fotki members. If they want to leave a comment - good or bad - they can't do it anonymously.

BTW your hair is beautiful!

I think the problem is tact. To call someone's hair thirsty is really insulting. If they had just said it was looking dry and offered to help then it would have been better. Also if you had already aired your dryness problem before they make have just been doing it out of spite.

But just bump them and keep growing.

In reference to your dryness, I had that problem and I use Crisco for my ends. You may not want to do that but another thick oil/ or butter make work great as a sealer for your ends. A thin oil works great for my scalp but it doesn't do much for the ends.

Ilove your hair. I have no idea what that person was talking about and neither do they. No need to explain anything to anyone. You have to learn to ignore the haters and KIM. They will always be there.

That person was just being grimy.

You mentioned you've always had issues with the "appearance" of your hair in terms of dryness. Have you tried Henna Indigo? It seems to turn alot of ladies here a inky black that should help reflect light better....

Just because someone left a message saying her ends looked thirsty, doesn't make that person a hater. Maybe her ends really did look dry.

Ediese
I don't think that person meant any harm or was trying to be negative. You said you have a problem w/ keeping your hair looking moist so........

I like your hair I don't care what anyone says.

Maybe it's a porosity issue. But that would affect your whole hair not just your ends. My ends gets dry looking too so I just slather then with moisture and penetrating oils more often and up my DC's. But your ends are the oldest part of your hair so maybe it just comes with the territory.

Thanks! I think I need to look into that. My entire head looks dry, so that might help. I've just been using black rinses to help.

Yeah it would have been better if the person would have recommended a product to use, that's if they even know what to use. If it's about the pics from your dominican blow out, the ends don't looks as sleek as you would assume they would be when a person gets a dominican blow out.

Yep. Even after I got it done, I had to flat iron it again when I got home. It didn't even look straight. lol I've yet to get a really nice press as a natural.

IMO, its just their opinion. It doesn't sound that negative to to me. I guess it just looked a lil dry TO THEM. If you know your hair is healthy why does it even bother you and why do you have to justify it.

hhg

I don't have a problem with someone thinking it looks dry though. I know it does sometimes. lol I guess, it's the actual comment that was left. It could have been said in a different way.

that's a mess. it ain't even worth the stress because truly, there's bigger fish to fry in life, so dont even worry, girl.

why do you think its someone from this forum though?

i have my sisters saying i need to 'slap a perm on my knappy hair' & a friend who knows I'm natural declare in front of me that she thinks natural hair looks like pubic hair on a head, yet my hair is longer and healthier than hers. the way i see it, negative comments like these should roll off our shoulders. laugh it off, it's not supposed to make you second guess yourself so harshly.

You're absolutely right. Uggh! I need to stop letting stupid things even get on my radar. I think I got a little more irritated because I know it's a problem that I'm struggling with. I don't know if it's someone from here or on the other forum that I'm on.

Exactly!! That's my point right there. Thank you. I'll definitely try the crisco. I've tried shea butter in the past, but it didnt' help much. I saw this special last night talking about moroccan oil being really good for moisture, so I want to try that too.

Yep. I've definitely tried henna/indigo. The indigo doesn't last that long. It actually washes out, and my hair is a dirty brownish-red color. Now I've stocked up with about 6 bottles of a bluest black semi rinse. That's a temporary fix.

Thanks! I really wouldn't have had a problem if they thought it looked dry. My hair does tend to look dry if I don't freshly use a rinse, but 'thirsty?' lol :nono:

Don't mind the comment girl.....I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!!!!

Thanks! :)

ITA. "Thirsty" just took it to another level. Totally unnecessary.

Hi E. A FOOL left you a FOOLISH comment huh!?! I'm rethinking opening a fotki..thanks E you have a good day anyhow.

Um..ok..this is the first negative comment that I've received on fotki. I thought about keeping it, but decided against it. I wasn't even going to post this, but then I decided to address it.:perplexed

I just wanted to clarify for whoever saw the need to anonymously leave the comment. I'm natural. At the time the picture was taken, my stylist had just chopped 3-6" of my hair to end my transition, and I didn't have any split/damaged ends.

My hair is very healthy. Some of you may already know that I'm always struggling with the way my hair 'appears'. Even when it's very moisturized, it still looks dry. I also seem to have a problem with my ends. I'm constantly S&Ding to get rid of split ends even though I hardly use heat. I've noticed that as a natural even right after my hair was cut it looked great curly. I don't know if it's the number of knots or whatever, but as soon as I straighten my hair, my ends don't look great.

I don't mind constructive comments because I'm very open to finding better ways to care for my hair. When people leave snide comments, it doesn't help anyone, so what's the point?

Tis All.

:bighug: Hug to you because I have ends that always look dry. Lately, I've been S&Ding as well. When I first read your post, I was vex for you, as if it happened to me. :look: I just viewed your fotki, and I must say we have very similar textures. Your journey also reminds me of my own. But you're natural, which IMO always means its healthier (I have "natural envy" these days).

With a gangload of compliments, we, especially women, usually trip over that one lonesome negative comment. Every now and then, some random chick will show out. That's the price of putting ourselves out on this crazy net. Brush it off.

Don't worry about it. Someone always wants to leave the same negative comment on my fotki all the time too. I'm sure it's someone on the hair boards because they left it on my youtube channel as well.

I laugh it off.

:grouphug3: Sorry ladies for the nasty comments, ignore the negativity! and keep up the great work.

I know if I don't have anything nice to say I just won't say anything about someones hair.

That was rude of the person, and then to be a punk and leave an anonymous comment coward, but I notice that because of hair boards people think they are hair experts when most likely their hair probably looks like crap.

I think if you're big enough to make such a comment then you should be big enough not to hide behind anonymity. If you believe in what you say you should stand up and take ownership of it otherwise folks will just taint you as a coward and a hater.

I am sorry that happened to you, your hair always looks good to me. You have way more hair lovers then hair haters, so you didn't have to explain nothing boo, your hair is FAB! No go in my other thread, and please share some hair stories, pleaaaase!

Some people just don't have anything better to do. The funny thing is that they hide behind their post because they probably look a HAM.

Delete and forget it.

OP, you know you have to just brush it off...b/c I'm certain that person would switch with you and your "thirsty ends" in a second!!!

That person is a JERK! Please do not mind this individual and keep on doing what you're doing. You're a very pretty girl with pretty hair. They can kick rocks, word up!

Brush your shoulders off and keep it moving mami! Haters gonna hate, it's a lifestyle not a hobby.

Your hair is gorgeous btw.

Don't let it bother you. Some people are just negative. I have always thought that being that way is not productive for anyone. We can all get to where we want to be if we encourage and not discourage each other. I personally think your hair looks just fine.

Yep. Even after I got it done, I had to flat iron it again when I got home. It didn't even look straight. lol I've yet to get a really nice press as a natural.

_______

What shampoo and DC and leav in are you using? It may be time to switch it or when u want to wear it straight try using a sleek or thermal line, I think they help smooth out the strands to make straightening easier and last longer.

What pic is it? What about the comment makes them a hater? Maybe it was just a statement and that is how they really felt. It would have been nice if they could have given suggestions.

In any case, you don't need to justify anything!!!!!

I had one STUPID @$$ hating chick and I KNOW it was a female saying that I just seemed obsessed with piling product on my hair for curl defintion. Gee ****, maybe I can do that because I have curly hair? Why the hell would I choose to walk around like who done it, why and don't do it again? Of course they were anonymous. Probably had sugar snap short hair or no hair and felt the need to go around hating on folks. GTFOOHWTBS!

Sounds like jealousy to me!

Do you girl--your hair is gorgeous, and you shouldnt worry about cowardly jealous people.
