Um..ok..this is the first negative comment that I've received on fotki. I thought about keeping it, but decided against it. I wasn't even going to post this, but then I decided to address it.:perplexed

I just wanted to clarify for whoever saw the need to anonymously leave the comment. I'm natural. At the time the picture was taken, my stylist had just chopped 3-6" of my hair to end my transition, and I didn't have any split/damaged ends.

My hair is very healthy. Some of you may already know that I'm always struggling with the way my hair 'appears'. Even when it's very moisturized, it still looks dry. I also seem to have a problem with my ends. I'm constantly S&Ding to get rid of split ends even though I hardly use heat. I've noticed that as a natural even right after my hair was cut it looked great curly. I don't know if it's the number of knots or whatever, but as soon as I straighten my hair, my ends don't look great.

I don't mind constructive comments because I'm very open to finding better ways to care for my hair. When people leave snide comments, it doesn't help anyone, so what's the point?

Tis All.

:bighug: It's called being a hater. There are a lot of jealous females out there... it's why a lot of longer hair ladies close up their fotkis or strive religiously to avoid claiming a length... to avoid being a lightning rod for haters.

No matter what you do, there will be people hating on you. There's no need for you to justify yourself to this anonymous loser. Anyone can see your hair is super healthy and lovely.

There's always going to be people on fotki making nasty comments, even if it couldn't be any more untrue.
Don't worry about it. We all know your hair is awesome.

That's a coward move. Writing nasty stuff under anonymity.

So what if your ends are thirsty? How is that affecting their lives? Where are their hair pics to show you how well-nourished ends look? **sucks teeth**

Don't pay those enemies of progress any mind!
Your hair is beautiful and they are probably keeled over their computer in a fit of jealousy!

Im upset at you. Letting some insignificant who didn't even have the balls to leave their name bother you?!~

Girl please! Happy hair growing, keep doing what you're doing and leave fools where they be lol

I think that's jealousy!!! I LOVE your hair and your a true inspiration. Just erase and don't give the hater any attention. Now lets spin this thread into a positive one....... hair porn?? :):):)

That's the chance you take when allowing people to leave comments. I'm not sure I see it as such a negative comment, it's more of a unhelpful opinion.:look: That person might have really thought that your hair "looks" dry! If that was the case, it would have been more beneficial to you if the poster would have left a suggestion and or product recommendation along with his or her comment.

Also the poster probably posted the comment under anonymous in fear of being called a "hater" for something he or she really thinks!!

Personally, I think your hair is AWESOME and you shouldn't concern yourself over random anonymous comments!!!!! :yep::yep::yep::yep:

Dont stress it. Most likely they are Jealous. Let your haters be your motivators:yep:And to the person who posted that rude unnecessary comment, Get a life!

Pay them NO mind. You know your hair is healthy, who cares what some anon thinks. I think your hair is amazing! You were my biggest inspiration in growing out my damaged nape. Happy continued hair growing!

Thanks you guys! I was a bit surprised by the comment, and tried really hard to let it go. My thing is though that I have been trying to find a solution for my dry looking hair, and I haven't found a permanent solution yet. I would have been much more open to receiving the comment if this person also left some suggestions. That's really all I wanted to say here. If they're just being hateful, oh well... I'll never understand that kinda stuff.

Aww :bighug:

If they have the time to hide behind a computer and critique anonymously; then feel sorry for them. Don't take it to heart.

I hope you find a solution to your "dry looking hair." I haven't seen your fotki, but your hair looks fab in your siggy!

Thanks! The bolded is exactly what I'm talking about. If they left some type of helpful recommendation, I would be very open to that. It's really common knowledge that I've been struggling with my hair looking dry even when it's not.

As a matter of fact, someone else left a comment about my ends maybe needing a trim. After I explained the issue that I've been having, she also left a range of products and techniques that she thought would help. I was really appreciative of that.

I like your hair I don't care what anyone says.

Maybe it's a porosity issue. But that would affect your whole hair not just your ends. My ends gets dry looking too so I just slather then with moisture and penetrating oils more often and up my DC's. But your ends are the oldest part of your hair so maybe it just comes with the territory.

Yeah it would have been better if the person would have recommended a product to use, that's if they even know what to use. If it's about the pics from your dominican blow out, the ends don't looks as sleek as you would assume they would be when a person gets a dominican blow out.

Girl your hair looks good to me. That anonymous fool probably wrote that when your hair made them choke on their hater-ade. Don't be upset, its not even worth a grain of salt.

*Le sigh* Haters never stop.Whoever left u that comment is probably 28 & living in their mama's basement, typing away with ear length chewed up hair...

Pray for 'em and KIM~ cuz you and your hair look good!:yep:

IMO, its just their opinion. It doesn't sound that negative to to me. I guess it just looked a lil dry TO THEM. If you know your hair is healthy why does it even bother you and why do you have to justify it.

hhg

Obviously that person was a hater and had nothing better to do.If she really wanted to give constructive criticism she would have left a suggestion and not have been anonymous. Just flip your pretty hair and brush your shoulders off!

Don't worry about it. Someone always wants to leave the same negative comment on my fotki all the time too. I'm sure it's someone on the hair boards because they left it on my youtube channel as well.

I laugh it off.

There will always be jealous little pesties out there who are quick to make snide comments.

Ediese you are such a great inspiration to me as a natural who has achieved great lengths. Just keep on doing what you do...your hair looks fabulously healthy to me.

That was very rude. & they didnt even have the courage to identify themselves.

Well you are my inspiration & I love ur hair!

Girl, that person set out to get under your skin with their comment and it looks like they have succeeded. Now you're here posting on LHCF and worrying about your hair-which we all know is gorgeous-and doubting how beautiful it is.

Please don't let these haters win anymore and don't let their opinions get to your pretty head. Just know that the naysayers and haters are out there, they always show up when you're doing something right.

that's a mess. it ain't even worth the stress because truly, there's bigger fish to fry in life, so dont even worry, girl.

why do you think its someone from this forum though?

i have my sisters saying i need to 'slap a perm on my knappy hair' & a friend who knows I'm natural declare in front of me that she thinks natural hair looks like pubic hair on a head, yet my hair is longer and healthier than hers. the way i see it, negative comments like these should roll off our shoulders. laugh it off, it's not supposed to make you second guess yourself so harshly.
