I am about to bump this old thread bc I want to know if anyone knows anything about:

Lock Loops: http://www.lockloops.com/ or

Soft Spikes: https://www.softspikecurlers.com/index.htm

I was looking at both of these today as I want an alternative to flexirods or perm rods for twist n Curls/curls on my daughter bc we sleep in the rollers. I would use end papers just as I do with the perm rods but they look so much more comfortable to sleep in than the rods.

Anyone seen or used these?

Yes my Aunt just bought these maybe a month ago. According to her they work very well, especially when sleeping at night. They are maybe about 5 inches long and made of a foamy material. Pretty neat invention.

ETA: She has locs, and she bought the lock loops like the first link.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG--oh shidddddddddddddd

this is whats up--gotta get these---now although i am worried about foam and my hair---

still to be able to sleep in these things is great---point blank

now i hope they make ones with satin and then i would be in heaven--i wonder if they come bigger

pincurling is fine but sometimes something like this would be great too!!

I'm thinking ab getting a set of 30 Lock Loops for 9.95 and using it to curl the ends of my hair overnight when I do braid and twist outs. They look MUCH more comfortable than anything I been sleeping on.

I was just worried that they wouldn't make a smooth curl, bc they are not completely round. But when I look at the soft spikes website, they used it s lot on non-loc'd hair.

I think I'm gonna be the guinea pig on this one and spend the $15 and try it out and see what happens...

That's a good idea. :yep: BTW I just ordered two packs! I don't think I will even need two packs since my hair is short right now, I just can't buy singles.

In the video the curls on loose hair looked smooth. I dunno I guess I'm gonna be a guinea pig too.

i almost want to contact the owner and say make them round...

SEEE, I was wondering was I the only one that was excited about it!!! :lachen:

The Soft Spikes come in different sizes. The Lock Loops don't but are MUCH cheaper. I'ma order the Lock loops first. I plan on using end papers with it anyway bc I like to add a little coconut oil and shea butter to seal on my ends when I roll overnight as it makes for a very soft and springy curl he next day...

I used something similar (called Wrap, Snap, and Go) on straightened hair a couple of years ago, and it worked wonderfully.

Seems like the same concept so I don't see why they wouldn't work.
Maybe I need to dig these back up for a twist-n-curl... hmmmm. :)

I used to have locks and I own soft spikes - but - they didn't work for me at all. IMO they may work better for soft textures. When I wanted a curly look I used perm rods or braids.
