thanks I think the top 5 things are:

co-washing
my super awesome vitamin regimen
exercising
low manipulation (but do too low, that's how i got dreads)
this might sound silly, but having a knowing that I would reach my goal

yep, i had to cut out a few 1 inch pieces in the back. While I can't wait for those piece to grow out again (which will take a few years) I am enjoying how much more manageable my hair is.

well, i sit right outside of the trading floor. there are 3 Asia Traders wayyy on the other side and there's 1 Foreign Exchange trader opposite them. They rarely walk over.

but it can be spooky, one time the lazy butt security guard (who sleeps at the desk) allowed a homeless guy to sneak past him and that homeless guy snuck up on me. I was scared doo-doo less because I sit in the corner. I could have been raped or killed! long story short, he walked away, (he was a lil on the crazy side) and we called the police. My company has made an effort to tighten security. But i have a hammer and a knife at my desk for now...

Thanks . I make sure I treat my hair like it's silk. never tugging or pulling. I have satin pillowcase just in case i'm too lazy to put on a scarf (oh, not the 'real satin pillowcase's, I have the ones from the BS but they're good) and I wear a lot of ponytails. simple.

You are such an inspiration to us 4bs! Your hair is beautiful. You said you had a setback from shedding and if you don't mind me asking what attributed to that? I have been majorly shedding from autoimmune issues/medication myself and it really gets discouraging. Sometimes I wonder if I'll reach my goal with all of this shedding but hearing you say you suffered from shedding and seeing your results, I know there's hope for me .

I'm not sure what the shedding was from. But i have lupus and i'm on some toxic drugs too. I try to counter the damage from the medicines by taking quality vitamins and eatng organic whenever i can. Do you have a vitamin reggy?

well, i was very close to bsl right before i joined but it was see-thru in the back and that lead to me lhch in 2/05. I jumped on a bandwagon and cut my hair to ear length in an effort to go natural, but i discovered that my hair was super unmanageable (to me... but then again, i was new and didn't really have the skills to attempt to go natural). I texlaxed at the end of 2005 and here it is.
