I don't know why all of a sudden I've been feeling french braids/goddess braids lately!

Here are a few pics that are inspiring to me. Anybody got pics of their own to share?

cute! I would love to learn how to do my hair like the pics of Nia, Nicole, and that last pic of the model...gorgeous!

ive always love french braids--so classy to me and also shows your face at a different angle---u can really see someones features when all hair is off the face--i also luv a fish braid---my aunt does the best fish braid---
i can do a french braid but it doesnt look neat :/

Those braided styles are so cute, especially the one Alicia is rocking. I may try out a few of them, one of these days *lol*.

Latoya you look absolutely beautiful. :notworthy

I've always loved big braids. When MaryJ was sporting her braided do and many people hated it, I was the only one doing a dance coz I absolutely adored the do:

I partial to braids. All the updos that really catch my attention and make me stop and stare incorporate some braid or look like a version of a braid:

I don't know what Alicia was wearing during her AMA performance with JayZ but I loved how her hair looked coz it made me think of a flat-twist/braid updo.

Yes, these styles are very beautiful and they are the perfect protective style for me.

My usual protective style (old pic) is below. I want to add more hair to make the braids fuller.

I'm trying to recreate it with synthetic hair, but I haven't been successful on my own.

^^Ceebee, that's been the only way I've figured out to protective style my braids too. :yep:

I love the big braid as well. I wish I could find someone that rocks them that has thick, natural hair. I don't want to have to blow my hair out to do it :(

I was trying to copy Nia Long's look when I did this.

I feel ya; since I'm going home for Thanksgiving I thought about asking a relative to try it out on me cuz my hair is currently pressed.

But I don't know anyone close to me who I could ask to try it out on my usual (natural) hair....:ohwell:

ceebee3, it looks to me as if you've already mastered it!

Very pretty :yep: I love how dark and SHINY your hair is. Thanks for sharing. Do you have any other pics from other angles?

Was it really difficult to braid around the back of your head like that?

Thank you! :drunk:

I meant that I wanted to be a master at adding the synthetic hair for a fuller look. The style is just two braids on the side of my head, they don't go around. It was simple to do.

The pic below is another angle.

Ceebee, I don't think you need to make it any fuller. It look purrty.

BTW, I seem to recall an updo where the additional hair was braided before being pinned on. IIRC, the end result was sort of like Angela's do here:
