I'm SOOOOOO in love with these braids!!!! I have been obsessed with them lately too... bu tI cannot figure out how to manage them without actually straightening my hair (natural)...and as I can barely style my natural hair....I'm at a loss...:wallbash:

This looks very pretty on you.

I was trying to copy Nia Long's look when I did this.

those style are so pretty!

since im not very good at french braiding i might try a bun with a flat twist on the or something

just to change it up a little :)

I wore this style today!

I can't believe the day has come when these styles are hot. I remember being mad as hell :wallbash: when my aunt or my mom sent me to school like this when I was in prep/ elementary school.

Funny huh? I wore my hair like this most of high school. I had many variations on the theme - one braid, two braids, with a bang, with a bun...I got really good at it. I really need to scan some of these old pictures.

Here's one of my current french braided styles now with a flexi-8:

@ WAVEZNCURLZ, hair twin, that is the same style I like and want to try! This gives me hope since I am in crazy braids right now ;0(

I've always loved french braids, plus they're a great protective style :yep: Can't wait till I get sme more length so I can rock some nice ones. Thanks for sharing those pics OP!

Thanks for this post. I am finding french braids to be transitioning lifesavers- a good way to camoflage reversion and to avoid flat ironing.

Thanks so much!

Can I transition in these? Or do I have to wear buns and stuff?

I don't see why not :yep:

When I was transitioning I did wear braids a lot, but I did individuals. I think that braids, including these french braid styles, are a great way to transition. Another poster above said they are good for hiding new growth and great protective styles :yep::drunk:

Great thread.. I start doin big braids earlier this summer.. this just gives me new ideas for protective styles for the winter :yep:

Thanks so much!

Yes, you can. I wore these alot when I was transitioning since it was one of the ways I could let the new growth be. See pic below.

For those wondering if they can do it on their natural hair, here's a pic of my friend's hair, she was featured on blackgirllonghair.com and she's wearing this style (3rd picture). She explains how she did it in the comment section.

I love these styles, so gorgeous. I don't know how to french braid sadly, but I want to learn by Christmas though. Last year I wore my hair up in two braids and if I could french braid it the style would look better.
