Silk Elements Mild Lye relaxer. I have never burned with it and it always comes out perfectly. I have used ORS before and the last time I used it my hair came out hard and dry not like the other times, maybe it was a bad batch or my hair just didn't like it anymore. I have to cross my fingers and do a little dance everytimg I relax with Silk Elements that my hair doesn't rebel against it.

Hi Ej, can you still find the Design Essentials relaxer regular lye and where do you get it from. i can't seem to find it anymore and I was wondering if DE was not longer in busines or maybe they are no longer making the relaxer, anyone?

Sorry for the delay....I just saw your question. I just bought a tub of it from my fave BSS. PM me if you'd like me 2 get a tub 4 u n send it to you :)

Ok girls last month I tried ORS and it pretty good. But I think i'm looking for a more bone straight relaxer. The girl that does my hair left it in quite a while. Keep all suggestions coming....Thanks Anna

I've fell in love with Profectiv and Silk Elements relaxers. I like the way Profectiv doesn't have all those steps to help cut down on hair manipulation.

Big ups to ORS Lye! It didn't burn, left my hair soft and it straightened beautifully. After this tub is finished I might try the Hawaiian Silky Lye for comparison.

Regular Olive Oil Relaxer Kit by Organic Root Stimulator.
I used that for the last year and my hair was always with good results.

These are my fav's, in order of best, great, good. They all got my hair bone straight, but some left my hair more silky, moisturized and fuller than others.

1) Phyto Index II -- LOVE so much; don't love the price though:nono:

2) Mizani -- I used this mostly when I was in the salon, and I self relaxed with it once; never had bad results with it.

3) Affirm -- good relaxer, straightened really nicely but didn't wow me or anything. I was still happy with the quality of the product though.

to the bold: :amen: I be like :scratchch: where are these ladies getting all this loot? where do they work? I'm a Sr. Analyst and make decent $....well i have to kids in college (engineers) so.....IT AIN'T HAPPEN'N! :lachen:

I use Mizani Butter Blend regular....it does burn a bit but it breaks my hair down super fast! :yep:

I ADORE Design Essentials. My stylist uses Time Release and Regular depending on the area he's working on; different parts of my hair respond better to the two relaxers as opposed to using one all over.

I also like Affirm and Revlon (my hair is VERY thick, dense, and I'm 3C/4A).

ALTER EGO LINANGE SHEA BUTTER RELAXER!

I have tried MANY relaxers... Design Essentials, Motions - normal and the herbal, Affirm, Nairobi, etc. and NOTHING is like this relaxer.

THe best way I can explain it is that afterwards, my hair doesn't feel like relaxed hair. It doesn't feel the way Nairobi or Affirm or DE makes my hair feel, which is like silky, relaxed hair. The linange makes it feel like it grew out of my scalp PERFECTLY straight and silky silky silky silky... not like I just infused it with silk, but like it was always that way. The major difference is that now, months after my relaxer, I can see the HUGE difference in my hair texture. My ends from Nairobi and DE are straighter and say, after I wash and airdry... look more artificially straight? My bit from when I was relaxed in March has too much texture and is kind of underprocessed (looks pretty, so I'm leaving it alone and I just make sure it doesn't cause breakage), but the Linange area dries straight, yet with body....

For lack of a way to put it, that section looks like the hair of someone who has naturally straight-wavy hair with body.... Like I could straighten it afterward on a 2/10 setting for 5-10 minutes and have it bling.

And now I'm pissed because the salon I MUST go to here (Boston - because they're the most economical yet know their ish, don't cut too much, and help you grow) REFUSE to take other relaxers and only use Affirm, Mizani, and Paul Mitchell. I know Affirm is great, but I may go with Mizani just to have a look-see. :look:

At least I can have my hair relaxed with Linange whenever I go home. I need to become brave enough to self-relax. I considered it for this time, but I want a trim and rinse too.

You've got me hype because I just got some Linange relaxer this week! Can't wait to try it on Monday

I love Vitale High Comfort. I am currently texlaxed, but still use this. When I wanted to go bone straight, it gives beautiful results and I have never burned. My hair feels soft, supple and never brittle after using. It's not always easy to find though.

Mizani Mild!
Topnotch,
Do you mind me asking if you use the regular formula for fine/color-treated hair or the butter blends mild? Also, do you relax bone straight or telax? If you self relax, are you adding anything(oils, conditioner, etc...) to the relaxer before application? How fast does it process? I plan on using the Mizani lye regular for fine/color-treated hair next week for the first time to relax bone straight but wondered if I should add any oil/co to it b/c I read somewhere on the forum where members stated Mizani processes fast.
tia,

Never heard of this brand :nono: sounds interesting though...i'm looking for bone straight. So far ORS doesn't do much for my hair, I just tried Dark n Lovely my mom done it for me, it's good but can be done a little straighter....gonna let my hairdresser put it in next time to see how I really like the results.

May consider this one if I switch again....Thanx :yep:
