I transitioned for 15 months. Big chopped Memorial Day weekend (5/07) because I'd reached a point in my transition when I just could not stand dealing with 2 textures anymore. I had about 6 inches of hair at the time and even with that length, I was in shock. It was the shortest my hair had ever been in my life.

After the first 6 months or so I felt confident enough to rock what I had but still missed my length.

I also got a ton of inspiration from the ladies who've been natural long before me and shared what they knew.

Yall can do this!!

2006 - Lawd hammercy! Thick natural hair vs. thin "tex" laxed hair. Thought I was doing good but pictures don't lie, do they? :nono:

Hang in there ladies!!!!

Thank youuuuuuuuu. You still started off with a good length. I'm feeling that two texture thing right about now. I'm narrowing down on my one year mark in a few days. I'm trying to hold out until spring of next year 18 mths. This is an inspiration for me.

I lurve your hair. Thanks again.

LynnieB,

I [heart] you.

I love ya right back!

Congratulations LynnieB! Your hair is absolutely fabulous!:yep:

Thanks Pink. Gotta tell ya, even though I don't respond to every single post around here, I do read. Thank-YOU for helping me along.

Wow, just lovely! Thanks for this. :)

Thanks :rosebud:.

BBD, just hang in there until you're good and fed up or you've reached your goal length, you're doing just fine!

Thanks again ladies - I've learned alot over the last few years thanks to you guys and it's all been a wonderful experience.

:rosebud:

ETA: Melissa_Bee - please believe me when I say looks are deceiving. For years I was a non-conditoning, rip that comb through, heat fiend, oh-no-it's wash day/relaxer day-again maniac. Somehow it grew and some actually stayed onboard for the fun but it wasn't as healthy as it is now. My hair has never been this long, ever and I definitely know why.

Well you inspired me :yep:.

It's funny that you referred to your texlaxed hair as thin because even with the chemical it was still thick...but lawd your natural hair is crazy thick. I love it!

O My, Is all I can say, I'm just coming up for air, I Gasped Sooo Hard when I saw Your Progress, WOW! Your hair is Absolutely Beautiful! Geesh!

Thank you so much for the inspiration . You’ve done an absolutely fantastic job! Your hair is breathtakingly beautiful .

LynnieB,
I truly needed this today. Your hair is gorgeous, healthy, thick...awesome!!! You have inspired me to keep pressing forward toward my goals. Thank you, Thank you!!! :)

Thank you. My 1 year of transitioning is right around the corner and I am becoming restless.
Your hair and progress is too much for words. I could stare at these pictures all day.

Great hair. I can't relate to having all of that all my life, lol.. But the BC length was a nice length.
