Wet versus Dry hair pics

Creolsugarface, this is similar to what my hair looks like dripping wet, only mine is a slight bit curlier/tighter. People who are not familiar with shrinkage of my hair type are usually surprised to see my hair wet because it is such a different texture and so much looser than my hair 12 hours later, dry.

My hair actually shrinks more over a period of 1-2 days. It will look Julianna Marguiles-y for the first several hours; Scary Spice the next day or two, and then, on the third or fourth day, the curls begin to disappear and the texture looks more like a classic fro's. So when people ask my hair type, I usually give the happy medium of the Scary Spice because that is when I feel it is at its "realest" (not distorted by dripping water and conditioner, or by several nights of tossing and turning on my pillow and being manipulated by hands, wind, and clothes rubbin).

You look great in your pics, BTW--I love your eye kohl; that's how we do it in my family/background.

Ok just got a pic of my hair dry (just oil in it) not combed though, just taken out of a banded pony tail and finger separated. This doesnt represent my hair dried after being freshly wet though, nah not at all. Because it had been banded its stretched

I just recently learned the more I layer my conditioner the less shrinkage I have. So I do a liquid leave-in under Hello Hydration or KCCC.

Your wet and dry hair looks similar to mine.

Morning Ladies!
Heres mine! Its soo weird cause Im finding that the more my hair grows out it morphs into all kinds of shapes and sizes. I have NO CLUE whats goin on, maybe its just being stretched out. I cant wait to see exactly what its gonna be like in 2 more years!! woo hoo!!

Okay, most of these pics are from earlier this year/last year. My hair looks a lil different now, but I do not have any recent pics.

Wet w/ conditioner:

Damp w/ single strand knots :giggle::

Dry:

Um, don't mind the face. I was being silly.

I will try to get some recent ones when I am in the picture taking mood.

Thank you for posting ladies. Beautiful hair.

CelinaStarr, that's AMAZING! You could do all sorts of crazy styles with your hair, like clip the top (loose curls) into a ponytail and then let the tighter underneath curls flow down. You are a haven of textures and I would never get tired of looking at and playing with my hair if I were you.

You know, I have seen fake hair (on scrunchies and with clip-ins) marketed to non-African hairtypes (I've seen East Asian and Euro women in the U.S. wear them, especially for fun nights out) that are also multi-textured on purpose, although the tightness range is far looser. They will have spiky straight hair, crimped (zigzag) and huge loose curls all mixed together. It looks wild and sexy, especially with dramatic M.A.C.-type makeup.

Thank you. I've just recently started embracing all of the very different textures on my head. Sometimes I do clip my hair up and leave the tight curls hanging out. I had no idea multitextured fake hair was made, lol.

:peek2::peek2: :look: *makes post*

anddddd *runs out the thread due to extreme shyness*

Very beautiful hair Truth! Look at those coils.

I have extreme shyness, too. It took me forever to start posting on these boards. I've been a member since 2007, but didn't start posting until a few months ago. I look forward to see more posts/pics from you. :yep:

Interesting thread! :yep:

Here's the best example I've got - although honestly, my hair shrinks up immediately once the water starts running off of it. In the time it took me to hop out of the shower and snap the wet hair pic, the coils drew up from collarbone to barely brushing my shoulders. Then as it dries, I seem to get more and more volume...

LOL! Beautiful hair. Your coils look more defined when wet, but you don't appear to have much shrinkage in the wet vs. dry state.

Dude...That's MY hair  . I mean down to the line of demarcation between the crown and nape :spinning:

Do you mean how my hair behaves in a wet versus dry state?

LOL, it is very noticable. I thought something was wrong with my hair until a beautician pointed out that I just have different textures of hair on my head. It's hard to blend and I've just accepted that I will never have uniform curls all over my head.

Want to see something weird?:

^^^^I have little curls under my hair and big on top. You can really see a difference here.

Okay, my hair is wet now, so I decided to take pics.
