Very pretty hair Neith!

Chin in the front, shoulder in the back. :) (Gonna be growing out layers for a long time too :drunk:)

for me its like I blinked and you grew out a whole full head of natural hair

that was fast!!!!!

it might not have been that way cause I wasnt around much but I SWEAR thats what it seems like

Hmm, while I was trying to dig up some pictures for this, I couldn't find any recent ones. This one is from like 6 months ago I think:

lol The sign didnt say long wet versus long dry hair pics

which means all were welcome to post :perplexed

Errrr I know that I'm just saying you guys were having such a nice conversation amongst yourselves that I didn't want to interrupt :yep:

Moustacy you didn't think we were ignoring you? I hope not. Sorry if we made you feel that way. Did you "tip" your ends w/ henna or bleach them or is that natural?

I believe it's scab hair it used to be worse before I started cutting all the red off. I still have some left after my trim but I guess they are ok for now since the chick didn't cut it off. But yeah it's natural but I'm pretty sure the perm affected my new growth to be that color.

Other pix of that red/orange ish.

Oh, I hope that doesn't happen. Whoever it is better just look or ask or something... no touchies. Can't be frizzing up my hurr. :boxing:

It's funny y'all don't see a big difference though! It was less coily and had less shrinkage. but I'm happy I got rid of that texlaxed hair. Transitioning had me on the brink for a little while!

I don't play that weave check stuff. Ain't nobody feeling me up like a puppy! :nono:

You didn't have a full relaxer so maybe that's why I didn't notice. The change didn't seem to be drastic like w/ others.

There is a difference. and its a beautiful difference. just not a major stretch, you still looked natural to me while relaxed but cause your hair doesnt take texlaxed LOL BUT you definitely got more of it now and its thick as all get out! and I cant believe u grew it so fast. wow!

Moustacy I do recall your scab hair post....it looks VERY healthy to me tho. Are the textures different? I have to admit, I LIKE the two colors. You can henna it all if you got some left or just leave it be...I dig it.

You get shinkage more dry than wet....that seems to be a trend around this post!

Very pretty hair....wet and dry.

And here I am feeling like I'm behind in growth :giggle:

Last year I was very sick for a while and didn't get barely any growth for a month or two. (I'm good as new now ;))

Then when I BC'd I cut off like an extra inch to get rid of scab hair. So that's a lot of lost progress to me.

It has been growing very nicely since the BC though :yep:

Moustacy I do reall your scab hair post....it looks VERY healthy to me tho. Are the textures different? I have to admit, I LIKE the two colors. You can henna it all if you got some left or just leave it be...I dig it.

I have a few diff textures so it's hard to tell if the orange is really scab or not but ever since my mom accidentally chopped off hair on the back (which had the red on the tips) I just said f it and decided it can all go lol The first picture I slapped all kinda crap on it and flooded it with oil on top of that so that's why it looks more of a way than the more recent one. The first picture wasn't long after I bc'd so my whole head was mainly red at that point.

Maybe it's not scab hair at all, but that you just have two diff textures as your natural hair? (The color change baffles me tho) On the 1st few pages of this thread we talked about just that. Maybe having more than 1 texture is normal for most folks and we just don't know about it?

The color change baffles me too, but it's way cute Moustacy! :)

Having more than 1 texture is more common that having only one texture imo.

I have a few well camouflaged 3cish coils in the back, and my nape seems to be normal to fine while the rest is very coarse. I wouldn't have even known without a picture.

Ladies, thank you all for giving me a dose of hair porn first thing this morning :0
KCurly, I think we are hair twins, but I won't be sure until I fully transition. What you guys were saying about typing is too true. When I first joined, I was obsessed with knowing my type, and now after 6 months of transitioning, I realize that I have 3c hair in the crown and nape with a horseshoe of 4a going around from ear to ear. LOL

Morning Ladies!
Heres mine! Its soo weird cause Im finding that the more my hair grows out it morphs into all kinds of shapes and sizes. I have NO CLUE whats goin on, maybe its just being stretched out. I cant wait to see exactly what its gonna be like in 2 more years!! woo hoo!!

It went from this : MY BC
I had NO curls or coils whatsoever! It was WET in this pic, and wouldnt respond to NUTHIN!

sooo sorry for the huge pictures!

i wish i took more pics of my dry/wet hair. i rarely let my hair air dry because it has no shape (longer on one side) and it'll get tangled badly. but I'll see what i can find, but some of these are older:

it looks wet, but it's dry. i was trying a fro hawk thing...

again, my hair sectioned off and I mistakenly let it air dry. This is before blowdrying (notice the shrinkage)

More pics here
http://public.fotki.com/IRRISISTABLBTCH/2007/be-curly-be-natural/

but thats not just wet thats buttered up too

I think this is the ONLY NAKED AND DRY pic I HAVE and it happened by accident, got busy and let it dry, all it does is turn into a big mass, this pic I could barely hold it in the pony tail, also taken in 2005

oops, here is the pic LOL

I am sick of you...

Nichi you have at least 2 textures as well it looks like. Not much shrinkage from wet/dry, but blowdired gives at least 2x length from air dried.

Sunbubbles your hair is like Neith's w/ those little cute ringlets. When wet it looks longer...quite a bit, than when dried.

Lyoness I don't see a diff shrinkage wise wet or dry. I'm starting to think this too is very common.

I didn't expect these results, but I'm starting to think the water weight affects many naturals too. It's the opposite for me.

You guys are ALL such pretty women w/ pretty hair! I'm jealous! :)

Thanks for the sweet compliment!
Sometimes i feel like i have more than two textures, but before I cut off the permed ends, ugh, it was annoying.

Air dried to flat iron is definitely a difference, its almost scary

My shots are from last year. The wet shot is freshly out of the shower hair. There's one dry one with a little bit of product and the other one is no product at all.

Want to see something weird?:

DSC00614-vi.jpg

^^^^I have little curls under my hair and big on top. You can really see a difference here.

CelinaStarr, that's AMAZING! You could do all sorts of crazy styles with your hair, like clip the top (loose curls) into a ponytail and then let the tighter underneath curls flow down. You are a haven of textures and I would never get tired of looking at and playing with my hair if I were you.

You know, I have seen fake hair (on scrunchies and with clip-ins) marketed to non-African hairtypes (I've seen East Asian and Euro women in the U.S. wear them, especially for fun nights out) that are also multi-textured on purpose, although the tightness range is far looser. They will have spiky straight hair, crimped (zigzag) and huge loose curls all mixed together. It looks wild and sexy, especially with dramatic M.A.C.-type makeup.

oops, here is the pic LOL
oops-vi.jpg

That is almost exactly what my hair looks like dry (with dried product, usually a no-hold or light-hold leave-in conditioner like WEN (Fig) or Pantene Relaxed and Naturals Daily Oil Moisturizer).

But...wet hair is completely different from your thick mass of hypnotic, consistently patterned curls. Mine dripping wet reveals my hair's extreme thinness, and the curls look smooth , wavy and loose like Julianna Marguiles type. FWIW, my wet hair is about 8-10 inches longer than my dry curls, which are just below my shoulders. The curls shrink from the wavy Julianna to Scary Spice.

I wish I could take pics but my clunker of a camera has been sitting broken on my shelf for the past few months.

By the way, I think , Iris, you have a Youtube channel? I stumbled on a vid of you "doing your hair from scratch with coconut oil" and in the dim lighting, it really looked like my hair. I emailed the link to my mother and sisters and was like "she has my hair and eyebrows...but her hair's a lot thicker and she can do hair a lot better!"
