I'm trying to get mine down for when I want to wear my hair down. I've been under wigs and half-wigs so long that I'm not too sure what to do with it any more.

Products and procedures, PLEASE! :D

Also, I've seen Ateyaaa's video, but I'm not sure about the whole sit under the dryer with hair straight without rollers thing. Anybody do this?

Mine is kind of complicated. I'm trying to work on simplifying. :yep:

But anyway, when I wash, I:

1. Comb through to take out any tangles or shed hairs.
2.Section into fourths or halves, it depends on how many weeks post I am. If I'm 8+ weeks post, I'll usually do four. I twist or braid these sections.
3. I pre-poo with cholesterol and an oil for about an hour.
4. I wash my hair with shampoo. I apply the shampoo to my scalp and roots only, scrub in a non-circular motion, then rinse. I don't repeat. I also don't take out the twists when I'm shampooing, I just wash with them in there.
5. If I'm doing protein, I do my protein. I take out the twists for this, because I put the most protein on my ends, and I need it to rinse out all the way. I keep my hair in sections though.
6. I Deep Condition, still in sections.
7. I rinse out the DC and do my PC and ACV rinse, still in sections.
8. I rollerset and wrap, or if I'm 8+ weeks post, I'll try to rollerset and pincurl.

It's more time consuming to do everything in sections like that, but it does keep the tangles down and I find that I lose much less hair that way. And it gives me better access to my scalp and new growth during stretches. HTH, good luck!

My wash regi is fairly simply

DC on dry hair for 25 min
Add more conditioner and de-tangle in 4 sections
Wash (scalp only) in 4 sections
Rinse w/ cool water

Then I'll either rollerset or airdry w/ my hair hanging down and bun or do a braidout

Thanks ladies!

Chaosbutterfly, do you ever flat iron?

Kami, what do you do to get your hair like it is in your siggy? Is that from rollersetting?

-Shampoo.
-Apply DC for an hour or sometimes more.
-Detangle when a good amount of DC is washed out but there's still some.
-Pat hair to remove excess water & Air Dry w/ shescentit coco creme.

Mine is a mixture of Kami and Traycee's regimen. I try to follow them:

  1. Separate hair in 4 sections
  2. Prepoo, rotate moisture/protein conditioners for 30 mins to an hour
  3. Shampoo (heavily diluted with water)
  4. Deep condition w/ heat for 20 mins
  5. Cool and add more DC
  6. Detangle in four sections in shower
  7. Final rinse with Roux Porosity Control
  8. Spray with Chi Keratin Mist, leave-in
  9. Detangle and rollerset
  10. Always airdry

Ladies who airdry and/or rollerset..do you do anything to make it straight? i.e. wrapping, flatiron, blowdry, etc..

If I prefer a straighter look, I do a rollerwrap which is wrapping your dry hair with a comb then wrapping saran wrap around it for a few minutes. Then take the hair down and comb it out. Voila!

Here's my regimen:

DC on dry hair under steamer for an hour.
Shampoo
Add conditioner and detangle under shower
Apply leave-in and serum
Rollerset
Sit under hair dryer until dry
Saran wrap treatment for 15 - 20 minutes

Thanks ladies!

I actually did a rollerset at first, but hated how it came out so I flat ironed :perplexed

I sometimes prepoo with coconut oil (rarely)

Most of the time i just jump in the shower...wash with aphogee shampoo for damaged hair 2x...

protein conditioner either 2 minute or emergencee

and deep condition for 30 mins or more

leave in

rollers

dry

Weekly

HOT on Dry Hair with a Penetrating Oil under Heat Cap 30-45 minutes

Co-Wash w/either Protein or Moisturizing Conditioner

Reconstructor 5-10 minutes

DC w/Steam with Moisturizing DC Treatment OR 30 minutes Protein DC/30 minutes Moisturizing DC

Porosity Control for Final Rinse *to close cuticle after using heat

Leave In and Hooded Dryer OR 50% air dry/ 50% dryer

Is using a rinse out re constructor then later protein leave in like Chi Mist or Aphogee Green Tea considered portein overload? :/

lol, Noo I'm afraid of flatirons and direct heat in general. I pretty much just rely on my rollersets and scarves to get my roots flat. When there's alot of new growth, (12+ weeks post) I ponytail rollerset, because it holds the roots tauter than I could ever get them with just regular rollersetting. And then I silk wrap. It works moderately well, and if it's not straight after all that then oh well.

I noticed some ladies DC before washing with shampoo (but no conditioner after) and some ladies wash, then DC. What is the difference in what this does for your hair?

That's almost my regimen too:

1. shampoo (I rotate shampoos since I have so many and need to use them up :giggle:)
2. Protein (Paul Mitchell Super Strong treatment-light, or Emergencee-heavy)
3. DC (Kenra MC)
4. Serum (John Frieda Frizz Ease)
5. Leave-in (Kenra Daily Provision)
6. Big rollers
7. Sit under dryer

My hair comes out straight when I comb out the curls. Now that I'm getting more new growth, I will try the ponytail thing. :yep:

I wash with Giovanni Moisturizing Shampoo. Sometimes I wash it in the shower, sometimes in the sink.

Then I DC with whatever conditioner I'm trying to get rid of. Either Nexxus Humectress, Aussie 3 min, or Giovanni Moisturizing Conditioner. I the sit under the dryer for about 45 min.

After that I put on Roux Porosity Control for 30 seconds and rinse. then I detangle. Once detangled I put NTM, Aphogee Green Tea Keratin, and Fantasia IC Heat Protectant. (Pink bottle).

Lastly I rollerset with purple rollers. Once I take out the rollers I put castor oil on my ends only. then i add more Fantasia IC on the new growth and flat iron it. I pin curl my hair for the rest of the week and start all over again. I wash my hair every sat. or sun.

I use Nexxus Emergencee whenever I feel like it. Does anyone know when your hair needs protein? Or should it be done bi-weekly?

My routine involves the following:

  • Pre-poo (trying to get rid of unlikable conditioners :ohwell:)
  • HOT (coconut oil or grapeseed oil) :yep:
  • DC w/ Pantene Time Renewal Replenishing Mask
  • If necessary, final conditioner wash w/ my Pantene "Remix" :lick:
  • Leave in and Serum (NTM Silk Touch, John Frieda Thermal Protection) :look:
  • Air dry (75%), blow-dry, flatiron and curl ("bump" under with large barrel curling iron)
*Some wash days include protein (eggs, Aphogee 2 minute)
