For those of us who speak some Chinese and are bad enough to make an international purchase, it appears that a basic hair steamer from a manufacturer in China can cost as little as $25-$40. Higher end models made with better materials seem to go for $60 to $70. Check out this link. bit.ly/xs4L5

This company also seems to be the supplier for the SRU model. Thanks to LHCF, they appear to have depleted their stock of that model right now. LOL bit.ly/ntw41

If there's not enough to go around in this current deal, would anyone be interested in dealing directly with the manufacturer?
Yes for that price I am sooooo interested...just let me know when...

Okay, I talked to Kim. She said that her someone sold those steamers in bulk last week and she didn't even noticed until she went over inventory.:giggle: She said they were sold for $120 including shipping. She also told me that due to salons wanting higher end/hanging steamers that they probably won't be ordering anymore anytime soon. If I haven't mentioned it, she is a regional wholesaler.
HOWEVER

I asked her about buying wholesale. She did say that she could place a private order to the distributor to be placed with the other shipped orders and that it has to be 50-100 quantities. She said that small quantities ordered from overseas is very high which is why many Asian business owners order together to save on fees. The only thing is that in order to do that she has to have a rather large deposit. I don't believe in taking money from everyone all over the place so I told her I would give her the deposit which is $500 since I can easily find her. She said that she will send the business sample by her husband to give to SO so that I can see what it will look like and if I like how it works. For the 2010 models she said that she should be able to get the numbers to work between $100 and $125 including shipping anywhere to the continental United States since she would be doing this as a favor me to me. This was off the top of her head.

So there ya have it. Let me know if interested. This is my last encyclopedia post for a minute!:giggle:

^^ I missed ya'll too! I ended up having to drive to Waco for a semi family emergency. I would have rather been with ya'll hands down.

A freestanding steamer for $100 is AWESOME! I'm in for real. A great new graduate gift to myself. :) Does it have treatment settings or auto shut off?

Thanks for looking out for your lhcf girls...... I'm definitely interested. I'm waiting on the product details....

I'm definitely interested in this. No chance to offer a table top steamer is there? I'm running out of space in my apartment. Either way, I'm interested and ready to purchase.

Once I get the final price, shipping date, and everything(merchandise) is here then I'm going to do first come first serve. I'm not into holding deposits.

This is awesome! Im still down! If its in Atlanta, or Dallas Can we pick it up, or is it going to be delivery only?

I'm down but I want to pick mine up since I'm local. Could I do this by Friday? I leave on Sunday for a 60 day assignment down in Savannah.

ETA: Just read that they have to be ordered. NM about the pick up but I'm still interested.
