For me, its Elasta QP mango butter. That mess just sits on top of my hair. I am running back to Hairveda for some whipped ends hydration: "sorry I cheated on you baby, I am back"...

For me, No new hits or misses yet because I am still wearing extension braids and haven't used anything new as yet.

Uhm 2 hits.....

Aveda Black Malva conditioner is awesome. I have finally found a way to keep my hair black-yay. Ladies this is the perfect enhancer for when your black rinse starts to fade. I am so happy that I learned about this conditioner-because this is something that I would have never known about if it were not for this board.

Redken Smooth Down detangling leave in-This has replaced all of my leave ins- it is that good. Leaves my texlaxed hair feeling smooth, and good golly if you flat iron. I could not keep my hands out of my hair. This leaves my hair feeling soft, which is an accomplishment.

Hits
Butters--99.9% of the butters I've tried have been great. Aloe, avocado, macadamia nut (thanks Char), jojoba, olive, etc.
Wet bunning
Overnight whole head baggying
Doing everything in sections (apply product, dc, detangling, etc)
Sleeping in plaits every night
Use one, buy one challenge :yep:
Low manipulation

MISS

Hit: Jane Carter Nourish and Shine

I finally got around to trying this and I have finally found a moisturizer that works for my hair! I absolutely love this stuff!

Hits:
Paul Mitchell Straight Works - This has produced the smoothest and silkiest hair after flat ironing and it does not weigh your hair down at all. A little of this stuff goes a long way.
KeraCare Intensive Restorative Masque - I've finally found a conditioner that strengthens and softens my hair at the same time. I no longer have to use a separate protein and moisturizing conditioner.

Miss:
Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo - This is the first product that I've used where I had to immediately throw it in the garbage after using it. It weighed down and coated my hair. I don't know what kind of ingredients this shampoo has, but it left white balls of residue in my hair. I had to use a clarifying shampoo to get the gunk out of my hair that this shampoo left in it.

HITS

Redken anti-snap leave in- been using this for the past month to rollerset over bb moisturizer- hair like butter-stays moisturized until next wash

Joico deep penetrating reconstructor- may become my monthly reconstructor once I finish the aphogee 2 min

sedu 1.5 inch- I love it @360 and the clips that came with it-didn't realize how much unnecesarily longer it was taking me with the 0.5 in shortie

kerastase oleo relax serum- liked it when my stylist used it, now I've got my own

On the fence-
Garnier anti humidity smoothing milk
-I like the consistency, but I don't think it' heavy enough for me to use as a leave in.it was in my stash -wont repurchase

Redken Smooth Down Butter Treat mixed with Chi Silk Infusion as a leave-in. Can you say Strong...Moisturized...Silky...Bone Straight...Flat-Ironed hair...

Keracare Detangling Hydrating Shampoo

Kenra Clarifying Shampoo

Miss:
Silk Elements Olive Oil Moisturizing Treatment. Olive oil conditioners just leave my hair with a coated feeling. I will give this to one of my co-workers just like I did the ORS. Blech...

Hit: Vatika Oil

I hate the smell and it's so annoying always having to melt it down to use it.
But. It makes my hair so shiny, smooth, strong and soft! I've been using it for a few days, and when I comb now, I get almost no shedding or breakage. And it seals in moisture so well! I only have to moisturize at night now, instead of twice a day. If I didn't hate the smell of it so much, I would replace my beloved EVCO with it. A definite keeper/staple product.

Miss
Donna Marie Lock and Twist Pudding

left gummy bits in my hair, especially around my hairline and the ends of my twists.
I've had it for some months now and can't make it work

big big big hit: jane carter twist and lock. this is the best thimg for twisting my natural hair. amazing.

Hits...

Qhemet Biologics Amla and Olive Heavy Cream: My hair was very moisturized without being oily or waxy (like my shea butter can be sometimes). Excellent product. Didn't feel like I needed to put anything over it.

Qhemet Biologics Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm: Another excellent product. I initially envisioned a sticky mess when I first heard of this product, but I decided to give it a try anyway. It absorbed so quickly (matter of seconds) and so well into my hair. Left it so soft and smooth. No heavy feeling at all.

Deep Conditioning without heat: I tried dc'ing without heat on Saturday for 30 minutes. I shampooed my hair with Pantene Nature Fusion Moisturizing Shampoo and dc'ed with Proclaim Cholesterol for 30 minutes with a cap. My hair felt exactly the same as it does when I use heat for an hour. No more wasting my time.

Simplicity: I decided to go back to my relaxed hair routine and just wash, dc, and moisturize as opposed to prepooing and using herbs. I also stopped using oils in my hair. I don't care which one I've tried, they all made my hair hard as a brick. I think this is the best hit of my hair care journey yet.

Routine Consistency: Helps to reduce breakage and weakness of hair.

Misses...

Jojoba Oil: Made my hair hard

Castor Oil: Made my hair hard

Proclaim Cholesterol: I liked it, but I couldn't detangle my hair with it. Queen Helene is much better.

Pantene Nature Fusion Moisturizing Shampoo: I liked it, but it didn't wow me. I think that Motions Lavish Conditioning Shampoo is far superior.

Cassia: Made my hair very dry. I don't feel like it did anything. Will try other means of strengthening my hair.

Molasses: Mixed it in the Cassia treatment. Didn't do anything.

Pure Lanolin: Can you say funky mess? Bought it as a possible replacement for my Burnt Sugar Pomade...don't know why. Just sits on my hair. It is far too dense to put on even the driest of hair. Will use it for my feet for pedicures though-its the bomb for that.

Aubrey Organics GPB: Made my hair soft, but doesn't last in my hair. When I use it with heat it just liquifies and drips all over my face and neck.

Aubrey Organics WC: Same thing as the GPB except it didn't make my hair soft. Too thin of a consistency for my liking.

Africa's Best Organics Olive Oil Lotion: Didn't like. Should've just used the Texture My Way Hair Lotion. I can't stand the smell of either though, but the Texture Lotion is much more softening.

Detangling before shampooing: In the words of Men on Film "Hated it!"

That's it for now.

Salerm 21 leave in with B5... detagles like a dream!
using aphogee shampoo for damaged hair as a 1st lather shampoo

On the fence:
weekly blowdrying (after 70% dry) and flat ironing (1 swipe at 360).... my hair looks SOOOO good w/ loads of body and movement. I dont get any breakage/resistence combing during the week either. I'm DCing, using heat protectants, and crossing my fingers that i continue to have success with this! :yep: My ends and hair also seem to be retaining more moisture with this method than anything else.

Aphogee Green Tea & keratin... just not sure how i feel about this at all. Leaves my wet detangled hair sticky with minimal sprays. I also dont see a difference in the finished product after styling.

Hit: Sweet Almond Oil. It makes my ends so soft and it only take a little. Thanks Mondo!

Huge miss: Aphogee Shampoo for Damaged Hair. Uh! This made me hair so hard, dried out, and tangled. Nevah again!!!!!!!!!!
Aphogee 2 minute: I have given it a chance and I just don't think it works. Not on my hair at least.
