ETA: In such a hurry to get there couldn't finish typing the word 'reach' (or spell it correctly for that matter).

Everything is Lord willing of course, I will love my natural hair to grow to my neck or shoulders by the end of 2010, then that will be my big chop. That way, I'll still have long hair but i'll be with my natural hair and not with both textures. It's bothering me now that I still have both textures but I think this will teach me the importance of patience and my new growth is coming in nicely so I've been seeing a lot of progress now that I've been introduced to baggy, co-washes and reintroduced to DC. So I'm looking forward to this journey.

Well..Im currently on the top of BSL (last checked in april)...I hope to be MBL by April 2010 (after trims & such) & I am giving my hair till June 2011 to be FULL BLUNT WL. And if I go on another 6 month slack like before I wont be FULL WL till Dec 2011, or June 2012. I better be good. I started my journey june 2008 & i want to end june 2011, so that will be a 3 year journey. I'm giving myself plenty of time to go through the setbacks which are bound to happen.

my hair journey ended-- i just needed to know how to keep my hair healthy--and ive learned that via moisture and less manipulation/heat

I am hoping to be BSL or longer by Jan of 2012.. I am just grazing SL now, So I will give my self 2+ years to get where I want to be!

I picked 2012 or after.

I'm gonna be growing my hair a looooong time.

I want to actually be able to see length without straightening.

I have no idea exactly how long I want my hair to get though. We'll see when it happens. (hopefully it will happen. lol)

I'm thinking 6 months-1 year more then I should have even hip length (maybe tailbone) straight hair and BSL/midback curly, cause it's just growing like a weed.
But with shrinkage, you never know how long it will hang, I may have to grow it out to classic stretched just to get midback/WSL curly. Maintianing the health and length that's forever.

Had to quote myself, that post was from 2007.
Ok 2 years went by and I reached WSL in 2008 in the meantime my hairs been getting thicker mostly and the shorter front and sides have been gaining alot of length.
It's moslty WSL straight/APL curly (it's almost even when it's curly go figure) now the V is inching its way to hip, but I'm going to make a conservative guess that in 2010 I'll be mostly @ HPL/TBL straight but still uneven the sides and front will be a little shorter I'll just have to let them catch up, when they catch up. I'll just maintain with trimms @ hip until I get it mostly all one length. I have no idea what shrinkage will be like at that length but I'm excited to find out.

Seeing that I started all over again in January 2009, then I would say in another 4 years or so to get back to BSL. I am currently back to neck length because of my new transitional journey to a full head of texlaxed hair:yep:.

I voted for 2011 which was wrong. I should have picked 2010. I will reach my length goal maybe by my 1 year anniversary. Then I will just focus on trimming with each touch up to get rid of some of my layers.

ETA: After I reach my length goals I will be in maintenance mode forever. Its no use in growing long healthy hair and then slacking off on my regimen.

I'm hoping I will be APL by June 2010 and BSL by Dec 2010. After that it depends on how hard my hair is to manage. I'm realizing that the longer my hair is the easier it is for me to deal with. So if I have no managebility issues I might try for WSL.

By the way I voted 2010

I honestly don't know. I'm in this for the long haul though. I want healthy hair that grows strong and stays strong. I also want to see if eczema flare-ups were due to relaxers. This may be a lifetime thing for me. Either way, I'm enjoying learning about my hair! You ladies have busted so many prejudices and myths that I didn't realize were "drilled" into me! Thank you for clearing my "hair path" for a clearer journey.

I think around two years, by graduation I want Bra Strap Length hair! Lol, Im praying. So that will be by May 2011

I'm thinking the middle or end of 2010.. to reach full MBL. But that's only if I decide to stay Texlaxed.. otherwise i'll be on a whole new natural journey.

My goal is to reach MBL by 2012 – 2013 after this point, I shall be on a life long journey of maintaining healthy natural hair.

HA! My journey doesn't end until another 10 years. If I don't get what I want in 10 years then I will have to go for another 10 years. 10-20 years my journey ends.

I will reach BSL and hopefully MBL next year (they are not very far apart on me) but like Neith, I really want to see some length when wearing my hair curly because that is how I wear my hair everyday and that will probably take at least a couple more years or more.

ETA: I loved reading this thread and seeing how people have reached their goals or changed them over the year. Seems like a lot of people transitioned and started over.

My journey is never ending.
Even when I reach my goal (hopefully by 2011) I will have to work hard to keep it that length and to keep it healthy.

My journey will never end. Even when I stop pursuing length I will still be pursuing a healthy head of hair. You can't get complacent in your upkeep just because you've reached your goal length.

we are in the same boat. I started over again :)
I did the chop again and I am currently completely natural but want to grow to WL textlaxed.
Not really too sure how long it will take me, maybe 2 + years.

I truly wish I had found this website 2 years ago. It's going to take me 4 more years for me to acheive my goal. So by the time I grow my hair the world will come to an end in 2012. Hey, I will be going out with the most gorgeous head of hair. I will be swangin'.

I'm hoping my journey will end Dec 2010 but I don't think it's going to happen! So I voted for 2012 and beyond...

LMAO - i want to reach my goal by age 30 and that will be 2011, so i'll have one year to enjoy it. My boss makes fun of me b/c i mentioned the 2012 thing ONCE and he swears im a fanatic believer - he just wont let it go lol

Wow, this thread was started in 2007! LOL. I read the first post and saw stuff about 2009 and I was thinking... what??? LOL. I am thinking by next year I should be happy with where my hair is. My major goal is to have my hair shoulder length. Right now I have a wig in that isn't quite APL and it is a little too long for me.
