I got this look by pinning my hair in 2 bantu knots at my nape for an hour. It was on a 3 week press.

My pressing method.

First blowdry my hair after a wash, then press very small sections first with a hot comb and then with a maxiglide. -Actually this time I skipped blow drying for the first time and went straight to the hot comb.
Products
- pea size amount of BIOSILK silk therapy on each quadrant of my head. I also got introduced to beverly hills shine mist last year

I spritz a little on each section just before I go through with the hot comb. It gives amazing finish.:yep:

Thanks for the compliments y'all. My friend sent me pictures from his birthday gig last weekend. I guess some of the best pictures are the ones that are taken when you are unaware? As soon as I saw it I thought, gotta share with my ladies!:yep:

Wonderful, lady thanks for posting what you did. :yep:

Did you do a high heat setting or regular on the maxi glide?

Your hair looks marvelous, Rabs. :yep: Thanks for sharing how you did it.

Were you at all worried about heat damage? Did the biosilk serve as a heat protectant? I would have been scared to use a hotcomb and a maxiglide; perhaps you didn't make the temperature too high. :yep:

I've always set it on "5". The hot comb does the majority of the straightening, the maxiglide is just used to add finish.

Not any more Naija. I now press approximately 6 times a year. I have the hot comb on high, although I cool it off on a towel before it touches my head. The maxiglide is on a setting of "5". I don't apply heat any other times. I've got a pretty good feel of my hair now.:yep:

This has lasted you for how long? The press in particular.

My press will be 4 weeks old tomorrow:look:  Don't judge!
This is how I make them last. Wear it in a bun all week. Only time I wear my hair out like this is on the weekends when i m out and about. We have low humidity on our side in Cali, and I sweat much less than the average person. So as long as I tie it up at night and bun all week, I can rock this look as much as I want on the weekends:yep: If I go out dancing, then I'm limited to 5 dances if I 'm rocking this look, any more than that I ll be asking for this :afro: :lachen:

Ahh you can trust and believe when I wear my hair in a press and curl I won't be doing any cowashes for a few weeks. That would be too much manipulation. I think that is just fine. No judgement here lady. I did the same thing when I attempted to press my hair back in March/April. That lasted me for at least 2 1/2 weeks and I had no problems with it.

It is really beautiful.

Thanks Mscocoface for starting this thread and Rabs77 for coming to answer (coz I'da been irritable if I had to hunt down your posts to see the hair :p ). Thanks for your responses too. Nice idea to bun to prolong a press. :yep:

Your hair is to die for! :notworthy

OT: Ms. Nonie have you cleaned out your message box yet? I am ready to get off this computer but I won't until I send you a message.
