I don't think I get any at all:nono: Mine begin at the end of Fall and stops in mid-Spring. I can't wait until the Fall now....shucks!:lachen:

If you are having your growth spurt, how much growth have you had?

Can I get a summer growth spurt please? The only time I see a spurt is over the winter and I think that is just because I mostly bun and never see my hair and then it's a surprise when I do. I want my growth spurt.

I think I get a growth spurt in early spring! I get my seasonal shedding in the fall.
It seems to just be steady in the summer.

See I don't even keep up with that. When I notice more hair than usually, I come in here crying about it, lol.
I don't think I get a "season of shedding." I usually just have the regular shedding throughout the year, but nothing in excess...thank the Lord!

Sigh.......I'm praying for a growth spurt this summer. I've just started my journey so I don't know my hair well enough to report its growth rate. Whatever the lowest is seems to be where I'm at!!! (What's the saying? A watched pot never boils? It's like my hair never grows!!!)

My hair is so wonderful when I go to warmer climates like Miami or the Caribbean...

ITA, when I lived in New Orleans, I got growth spurts every summer. Without the humidity boost, I get growth spurts regularly in the winter due to extra protective styling measures.

:bighug: Girl, I've been doing this since 2006 and I'm still not where I thought I should be....uggghhhh! I had to cut off 2 inches a few months ago, but hopefully, I won't have to do that anymore, but I really needed that cut.:yep:

I remember getting a summer growth spurt two summers ago. Since then, I haven't experienced any more.
That's interesting. Did anything change since then?

I think that's what happens with me too....much more protective styling in the winter.:yep:

Yeah I want to go live in Miami for a year and come back with six inches
:lachen:..........

I think I got a growth spurt at the beginning of the summer. But I haven't straightened my hair to see how much it was.

I think I get my growth spurts in the Fall/Winter because I haven't gotten anything yet this summer.

I know...that is what's so hard about being natural....you really don't know how much you have gotten in growth unless you straighten it. I'm not allowed to straighten right now, but when I did last month, I felt like I didn't get any growth at all.

I should have put a poll in this thread, huh? :look:

ETA: I put a POLL in this thread. Please go and vote. Thanks.

Summer is better for me all around. I tend to get growth spurts in the summer as well as better retention. Mich has some cold winters. Between the frigid temps. and the dry indoor heat it's a constant battle to keep my hair moist. However since being on the Ayurveda kick with all the oiling and cowashing my hair is loving me!! Not to mention the humidity

Your hair has grown alot:yep: Ayurveda is great for my hair as well, but its not jumpstarting any growth, at least I don't feel like it is...I dunno...I'm getting frustrated I guess. I go through this every few months:look:

One good thing is that I only straighten my hair a few times a year, so when I do wear it like that I can usually see a pretty noticeable change. I was BSL the last time I checked, and I hope to be MBL (or very close to it) the next time I check.

Also, though I think I may be having a growth spurt this summer, I'm not sure any one season is better for me growth-wise. As far as I am concerned this is just a lucky occurrence.

When I feel like this I stay bunned and try to forget about it for a while. By the next time you length check it's grown more than you thought. Stay motivated sister!!

My growth spurts are in Summer, always have been. My summer so far has been stressful and filled with sickness. I am experiencing more than normal breakage/shedding- haven't figured it out just yet. Hopefully it will come around soon and I will remain on target for my next growth check this fall.

I definately do:yep:. I'm looking forward to seeing my growth results at the end of September! Hopefully I will retain it through the winter.
