Awful Weave

I decided to dive in and get my first weave. I hate it!!!! I feel like maybe it was installed wrong or something because it just doesn't look good. I thought that more of my own hair would be left out. :ohwell: I got a "spanish girl" wavy texture and though I like the look of the hair itself, there is something off... it was installed too close to my face and falls in an unusual way....and the only hair left out was at the top of my hair which barely leaves enough to cover the top tracks, never mind the sides. I can't pull the hair up or back...it just hangs here. I said something about it when she was finished and even suggested cutting it in layers to make it look natural, but the styulist said it wouldn't look right. :cantlook: Help!!! Is there anything I can do to make this look better?

Did you go to a salon and get it done? If I wasn't satisfied I would go back there and ask if they could correct it. I don't know how it looks like, but it certainly sounds like they did a shabby job. Do you think if you wore some cute scarves or hair accessories you could cover up their mistakes? You could even ask them to cut layers to make it more presentable. It's the least they could do :yep:.

I'll try to figure out how to post a picture so you can see how BUSTED it looks.

When you make a post, scroll to the bottom of the text box. Right underneath the textbox there is a button that says "Manage Attachments". If you click on it you can add pictures from your computer and they will appear at the bottom of your post. And if you don't want to leave your attachments up there's a place in the control panel that allows you to delete your attachments.

P.S. It only shows up if you click the "reply" button or if you quote someone.

I got this done from a stylist who convince me to get it done at her house because if I went to the salon she would have to charge me 3 times the price.
Is this gonna be one of those..."you got what you paid for" situations....

Sorry to hear that. I can definitely see the tracks. Are you sure you can't comb your hair somehow to cover the tracks? I'm not sure how it could be fixed if she didn't leave out enough hair. She needs to fix it. I've had that happen to me before too, and I never said anything. Now, I won't leave if I don't like the way it looks when they're finished.

Regardless you would have gotten that same results so be glad you didnt you pay the extra money.

They is not enough to cover the tracks on the top and back plus the side. When I told her that I thought more of my hair needed to be left out she said I was wrong that there was plenty left out. I can't even cover my big forehead. I am seriously thinking about ripping the whole thing out :ohwell:

and it doesnt look like the last track wasnt placed close enough to the second last one, because i can see those too.. i would def go back, heck id walk right into the salon and get her to do it properly.

:nono: Not necessarily true...there are wonderful stylists out there that have skills that are worth paying for. Now, if OP didn't research the persons work, regardless of salon or not, then yes results would vary greatly.

It's no horrible. Call her and tell her that you can see the tracks and you want them redone. Why can't you pull it up or back?

I can't pull it up in a ponytail because A) the braids underneath are so tight they hurt like hell :cry2: B) she braided my hair back and all the hair is gathered into a knot at the nape of my neck C) the front tracks by my hairline are so visible if I do anything other than allow the weave to fall straigh down.

I ran to CVS and got some headbands which is an improvement. But If I was just gonna rock headband, I didn't need to spend $300 for that.

You spent 300 for that???? Oh hell no....you need to tell her to re-do the whole damn thing. You mean she was going to charge you more than 300 in the shop!!! I've done better on myself for free.

$300 for the services and your tracks are showing? I don't like it. I am sorry this happened. Go have her fix it. I think what is really off is your real hair looks more like a large rod set and then you have a spanish wave under it. She didn't blend right.

LOL, $300 was my overall cost, hair + install. If the install alone was $300 I would be waiting outside her front door in the morning. The hair was pricey. But according to what she told me she charges $250 for the installation at her salon. I saw some pictures of her work and they looked good...since I don't know anyone who has ever worn a weave, i really couldnt get a truthful recommendation.

Go back to her and let her know that your tracks are showing, etc., etc., and you would appreciate it if she can fix it for you. Maybe in the meantime you can clip the back up into a messy updo. She was wrong to charge you that much and not do it the way you wanted it.

This reason alone would make me take it out because your own hair and scalp could end up damaged.

Yeah, I am convinced, I need to go back. I thought I was gonna be able to just get up and go with this but there is no helping it. I actually think the hair type is wrong too. She went with me to the store to pick it out since I didn't even know what to get. I'm thinking it should be a thicker fuller hair with an actual curl that would have been better. But she told me this could be straightened and curled for versatility. I don't wanna even think about how it would look straight.

Sorry girl. I know you don't want this fight, but you deserved better service. The hair color is not right either.

Girl, you better log off of LHCF right now and carry ur butt up to her salon and DEMAND that she fixes it. She did a LAZY job!

Sorry your first weave experience had to turn out like that:ohwell:

But we are here for you:yep:

Oh, and please put that "stylist" on blast so we know not to go to her:look:

You have three options, getting it fixed by her or someone else, taking it out or lving with it.

For what you paid in total, I would have someone redo it to where you are satisfied. by day 5 if those braids are that tight you are going to be in tears and even madder than you are now.

Because of that hair I imagine anything you spray on it will just have it lay flat so the normal braid sprays or sprays with oil will not help the hair but will help where the track and hair meet.

Hoping the best for you. Your main concern should be the pain you are suffering with right now. You can always have this redone, but if the braids are too tight they could be causing damage right now.

The OP said its the same woman that would have done her hair at the salon but instead she did it at her home so it would have came out the same if it was a different stylist then thats another story.
