Do you use it? The same could be used for Fotki too. If someone does something totally wrong or their hair really looks jacked, and you know you have seen this before, do you keep it moving or must you leave a comment?

When someone is doing a vid and they are doing what they know to be correct, do you give them a kind word, gently pushing them in the right direction or do you bring the pain?Or do you generally not care one way or the other and KIM?

I keep it moving. I have seen some dead mean comments in response to YouTube postings, and Fotki album postings. So I just choose not to say anything.

Well...Uhhh..I tell it like it is. I keep it blunt and I hope others would do the same with me. I mean they can always delete. Sometime I just give constructive criticsim but I always speak my mind.

KIM. I do not want to discourage the person from doing more videos; should I see a hair video of someone doing something truly awful I may gently add a comment but some times the poster does not want to hear the nays so 90% of the time I view and move on..:ohwell:

I mind my business because there are some people that do all the wrong things and tend to have even longer hair than myself and half the people leaving comments. I try not to be the Hair Police--it is not my business to impose on someone else. There are so many people that are rude and crass in the Name of Hair and I think there is a close button on the left-side of the screen and it is so appropriate to left-click with the mouse.

I just look at YT vidoes, I don't subcribe because I don't have an account with them. As for fotki, I try to remain as positive in my commentary as possible.

I would want advise if I were doing something wrong, as long as it is in a positive manner.

People in YT sometimes make me sick with the terribly and unnecessarily mean comments they post there. There is a difference between providing CC and just being flat out mean. I don't leave even CC, I just feel bad reading some of the stuff. A lot of people stop making videos because of that crap. :(

Its just not that serious to me.

I usually just look. If its horrible I just click the red X and keep it moving.

I generally don't comment on Youtube videos at all. If the video is good and/or helpful, then I'll favorite the video or subscribe to the channel so I can find it again.

Some people on YT are flat out RUDE - and not just on hair videos - and if someone does something wrong, they have zero problems saying so. I just feel like some people who watch the videos are mean just for the sake of being mean. It's not that serious people!

I never comment, everyone has different views and if I don't agree with theirs then I KIM. It's not like my little ole comment is going to change much anyway.

If you can't say something nice don't say nothing at all. That is what I do because my mother always told me that when I was growing up.

youtube drama is intense
but i've never witnessed fotki drama
but yes i do leave comments but im never cruel
sometimes if I want to leave a catty comment i stop myself and KIM,
but i would want advice too

Some people are mean. I don't really read comments like that. I read the first page usually and that's it sometimes their is just way too much to read. But I am never mean on purpose I am just blunt.

oh Xena here you are again coming through with that blinging braided style. I am so in love with your hair in your avatar.

Yep, that is what I do. If I notice someone has given advice that I agree with, I will give the advice a thumbs up, but I never actually leave any.

OMG!!!!!!oodness!!!!:blush::blush: I haven't seen you in SO LONG! Hope you are well!!! I reminisce, I reminisce WHOooaa.. You look great and I wish you well!!:clapping::clapping::hiya2::hiya2::hiya2:

Sorry OT

I had somebody tell me I wasnt enthused enough on my YT videos.

When I did them. :look:

I didn't even know that it could be a comment--that's a bit extra. You are not trying to be a news anchor or broadcast journalist. Hmmm, people....

I rarely leave any comment. If the video is awful... so what. They will continue to make awful vids.

Example......Sabrina's videos are terrible... All of them. But it seems to me that she does not care... so...what would my comment do?

That damned "Sabrina, "Come to my Braid Shop", Ooops the Comb Broke, I Get a Lot of Breakage but I don't Care" (cause I can by somemore fake Hair)" a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y motivated me leave a message indicating my "displeasure". ......Other than that I do not comment.

Depends on my mood, and how much I've been drinking that evening.

Normally I only post positive things to encourage others. I try not to advise people on YT because... well, I don't want people advising me. I post vids on what I do and what works for me. I don't care if a Dominican blow-out will give me more swang, or if certain people think that "eggs are for eating, not for your hair!" (yes, I did delete that nonsense :spinning: )

People being blunt but helpful are one thing. People being mean/rude... I have no tolerance for. You will be banned! :lachen:

OT, but wow @ your avi! Your hair has really grown from your starter pic girlie, just gorgeous!

I learned that some people make it their life mission to go on YT and leave nasty messages and comments for people.

Why? People they are miserable. Do I reply? No, because if I start arguing with someone over the INTERNET, I'm suffering from the same disease they have SBS aka stupid b***h syndrome. I have a life outside of hairworld and too many other things to do than to argue with some idiot because she needs a tissue for her issue.

With that said, if I see a video that I don't agree with, if I can't say something nice I just don't say anything!!

A few years ago some hair war broke out on a fotki member. Another board turned against one of their members and they all went to her fotki book and literally dragged that girl up and down her page, called her out her name, bald headed *****, awful things. People with really short hair saying they wanted to grow their hair to waist length and posters saying they would never do it because their hair was nappy, all kinds of crap. That's why a lot of people started putting up all kinds of passwords because I remember even here people would post up their albums and trolls here (this was before the site was a subscription site) would post awful things in their albums, nothing constructive at all. They would say people were wearing weaves, if someone was too thin, just crazy stuff.

 Hey Skegee! I haven't seen you in a while.

And yes, I too have seen both Youtube & Fotki drama.

I think that it's ok to leave nicely worded suggestions if you want to. But I think its hard for some people. Women are just so opinionated. I actually wanted to karate chop my husband's hair after she told me (in person) that I was damaging my girls hair by putting braids in it. She went on to say that when her grandkids come over and they had braids she takes them out. On the inside I was like WTH, but I told her that I did my kids braids myself and that I was not damaging their hair. I told her that it was the best style for them since they would be staying at their grandma's (her sister) and it would be less maintenance. My husband chimed in and said yeah, you know she (his mom) doesn't know about doing hair because she had all boys.
I was kind of taken aback and wanted to give her some education, but I didn't. Brought it up to my hubby and he said I should have told her. I told him I was trying to be quiet out of respect. (shrug). If it comes up again, I am going to have to educate her. If my kids go over there and she takes their braids out, I'm going to tell their grandma to bring them over there every day so that SHE can do their hair.

Slightly Off Topic..... You two ladies have made Great YT vids!:yep:

I only leave positive comments, if I don't have anything to say I will keep it moving.
However if something would ever bother me to THAT extent (which I doubt and I had to absolutely say something, I would just send a message and not leave it on their page.

Some people get off on leaving shocking/rude comments....

....just like on here. :look:
