I really do NOT mean this to be a hater post. I just don't understand what the big hype is about Chilli from TLC. I get that she has some kind of 3texture... but in EVERY Picture of her, her hair is basically the EXACT SAME! I'm getting frustrated because she is featured in just about all of the hair magazines I get and they do NOTHING with her hair. It's always just out and down... and the curls that are her natural hair pattern are just there. Her hair is not stylish or anything. She looks like she just rolls out of bed, MAYBE runs a comb or some fingers thru it and goes on about her day. SOMETIMES it looks like she did a wng, but that's it. WHAT THE HECK AM I MISSING? Are people just awestruck by her hair that they think she is stylish or something? Really, to me her hair is lack-luster and leaves much to be desired. She's pretty, that's not the question, but what is the point of her being in a hair magazine if they are just gonna have her hair the same way in EVERY edition? Am i trippin or does ANYBODY feel me on this? I even went and searched for pics of her and with the exception of about 2 others, her hair looks THE D@MN SAME!!!!!

I just am not feeling it and they are making me sick! I think she should have a STYLE to be in a hair magazine. It makes me wonder if you just can't DO anything with this type of hair???
 
It's always the same because maybe that's her signature style. I'm usually in a rollerset, but that doesn't mean I cna't do other things to my hair. It's just my style.

I personally like her hair. It's healthy thick and long. If she were a member on here would would be oohing and awwing, so what makes her diff cuz she's a celb. It's her hair and she's flaunting it so I'm not even trip.
 
I almost feel like...she and T-Boz made a pact to have their hair the same. I mean, TLC came out when I was 14 or so...I'm now 31 and and those *****s still have the same hair. No hate, just saying.

*steals Chili's toothbrush so she can't Ampro her baby hairs*

ETA: I didn't realize that calling a female a cow was a cussword. My bad. :look:

Her hair is beautiful and so is she.

Before LHCF, I thought she had gorgeous hair! Now, after seeing the ladies on here, I think her hair is nice, but I'm not doing cartwheels and back flips anymore.

Most people don't know of these hair forums, and doesn't know that having nice hair is very attainable! So they put her on a pedestal, thinking what she has (nice hair) is rare, whinch it is, until you find the hair forums and learn how to get it.
 
i think the fact that she doesn't have to do much to it is what so great about it! its long, it has a nice texture. when she straightens it, it looks awesome as well. i wish i had hair that i could get up in the morning and just run my fingers through it with no hassel or just roll out of the house with "bed head" lol. i like it!

Oh yeah the baby "hurs" i don't care to much for! but thats chilli's style i guess?

girl don't you know? ni@@as will ooh and ahh over hair that's past shoulder length no matter how it looks. it's long. that's all they see. average black folk aren't like us ladies on lhcf. they see long hair and go gaga over it while we're like, "hmm it's a little dry. she needs some coconut oil to make it shine and a few dc treatments." lol.
 
I think it's because she's got the type of hair that a lot of people want. Both length and texture.

A lot of weaves I see look very similar to her texture. In the old days, I'd probably would've been right along drooling with everyone else, but I now know to appreciate/love what I have been blessed with.


Plus, she's just a pretty lady.
 
At least it IS her hair she's rockin' in the hair mags, unlike many of the ladies!:yep:

I think sometimes people get too caught up with "style". I've noticed that usually the women with the thickest, longest, most drool-worthy hair are the ones with "boring" or "classic" styles...

Personally I'm much more impressed by long healthy hair that's just there lookin happy than a super complicated mile-high style.
 
I think her hair is gorgeous. Suits her face, and it definitely suits her overall.

And I don't think she gels her edges down (for the most part.) I have a girlfriend with wispy loose curls like that and her hair (baby hairs) fall just like that. She does absolutely nothing to them. Her texture leads me to believe that she doesn't have the halo effect others may have. And the it seems to grow forward. Why fight it?

ITA! Wearing a style that took 3 hours to create with a lot of manipulation....:nono:
 
back in 91 92 i wanted chili's hair soooo bad. the length, the shinyness and yes the texture. especially how it was in their 'what about your friends' video. she did more to it back then. it took me awhile to realize i didn't have her hair.:lol: i finally learned to love my own and now im like wth did i ever see in her hair. but its very pretty and seems healthy.
i wear the same style over and over too..lol
 
Ok, so maybe I'm the odd ball, but I love chilli's hair, I was and still am a big fan of TLC, and like one lady said, I believe it's the fact that she doesn't do much to her hair "that we know about....." Her style is just simple, and I like simple.....I don't like doing those crazy styles, I'm not a teenager anymore, I'm a young mother who prefers a professional look.....so i'm the odd one, but chilli is one of my hair idols.......to some she's plain but to me.....her hair is just beautiful......

I think that her hair looks lifeless like she needs to wash it more or get some henna. I think she is amazing because she looks so good for her age and doesn't seem to change. I wouldn't mind seeing her in some other looks but I really don't care that much either way.
