I did my first braids (sister twists) ever. I didn't do it 31 hours straight this was over the course of three days. Learned from youtube tutorials. It was my first time and I think they came out okay but I'll need to keep practicing.

These suckers are so heavy.:lachen::lachen: But I love them....I think I'm going to thin out the bottom.

gawjus. you did a good job. you ladies are inspiring me to try to do them myself. this cost me $100 plus the price of the hair.

two questions:
what kind of hair is this?
how are you going to wear it every day? down your back like that?

They look very nice. If they're very heavy, perhaps you should thin them out so your hair doesn't break off from the weight. This is the advice i get from the boards. I'm proud of your accomplishment and you did a really good job. Enjoy

wow! That looks like a lot of work. The turned out great!
What is the diference between "sister twist" and kinky twist?

I just used regular braiding hair...the 100% Kanekalon hair. I tried to use the kinky twist kind of hair but I couldn't grip the hair that well and I didn't like the look. This was easier to manage. So far I've just worn them down my back however once I thin them out a bit....or cut them, I want to put in up into a fench bun like how I see the ladies with the dreads. It looks so pretty.

Thank you for the compliments

Hhhmmm....I think the Sister twist are twist with Kanekalon hair and kinky twist are twist with kinky textured hair.... I think:perplexed I'm not too sure this is what the girl said on the youtube video. LOL

Looks good, Oreoday. I'm glad to see regular kanekelon can be used. My cousin is a braider and wants to do mine but trying to convince me to use the kinky hair because the ends are self done. I have read too much about kinky hair intertwining with real hair to put it in. Thanks.

they look good but they look really heavy. be careful if you leave them that length.

LovinLea, you need to get with the program and learn to do your own braids, that's a $4 hairstyle :poke:

Yes they are heavy. I'm going to thin out the bottom this weekend. If that doesn't work, I'm going to cut them a little shorter. The hair style cost me a total of..... $30. The cost of hair. :lachen::lachen:

you did an awesome job!!! Beautiful!!

Congrats Girl! You did such a good job. You sure it's your first? <side eye stare> And I don't think you're crazy to have done it to the ends. I think braids or twists look better that way.

LOL @ the weight. I always wondered how long haired ladies managed to walk about with such a load on their heads...until it dawned on me that they are slowly introduced to the length so their heads get used to it. We just go from having no hair to having Rapunzel's mane. Wha'd'you expec'?

ITA... my sister went through that last year and she lost all of her edges...She is still recovering from that loss... Great work by the way:yep:

I can't believe that was your first time! They look really good. That's a lot of work, hope you get a lot of wear out of them.

You did great. Where is the youtube tutorial you went by? I've never had braids like that and would like to try them.

LOL:lachen: I didn't know it would be this heavy. I forgot the at the professional hair salon they stretch the braiding hair thin so that the strands are thinner at the bottom. I just made it even all the way down to the bottom. I've got to cut this mess, I can't take it anymore.
