I don't know what ya'll are doing to overcome these hurdles!! Girl, your hair really just progressed and its gorgeous! It seems not matter what I do, I cannot get my nape to stop being brittle and having breakage. I keep reading everyone's regimens and what worked for them but none of it is working for me.
Congrats to all of you ladies for being able to find what works for you and conquering your hair issues.

I agree with this. My nape is horrendous -- even when I gave up chemicals for a year it just refused to grow! I honestly don't think it ever will.

These pics are very inspirational though.

this thread is amazing - kudos for bumping it! i wish i had a pic of my hairline from last year....hell, even last WINTER, and now. i will look for old pics when i get back to my laptop.

Here you go... This is me at the start of my hair journey. My hair was broken in soooo many spots and had some serious issues:sad:

Here's my hair in January (this year) ... this pic is AFTER my relaxer, blow dry and flat iron and I had just greased my scalp. Craziness!

This kind of old (2005) but this was the worse my hair had been. I was using a curling iron everyday and overlapping my relaxers. I was young and dumb!

kinda better in 06
New start 07- 08, after finding LHCF
This was the end 0f 2008

You know one of the things I like the most about this thread... It clearly shows that once you start changing the bad hair practices and picking up some good ones that it takes NO TIME AT ALL to start reaching your hair dreams.:giveheart: Then you realize you're in control and you can grow it, cut it, grow it again... Transition, then texlax...Transition and relax again if you wanted to.:spinning:

Great progress..too bad i am just starting out....oh, such a long road to travel to healthy hair.....:cycle:

...this was my first time using the pikistrips so please forgive. the 1st pic is my LHCF start point 01/2007. the 2nd was my las length check Nov. 2008.

I really needed this. Thank you, ladies! You guys are the greatest, really!! :blowkiss:

Me too. Relaxed today after a 9 month stretch and decided to start fresh with a full head of healty hair and thick ends, so I had my stylist cut me back to shoulder lenght...sigh. But this thread is a great inspiration.

Thank you.. I just started my healthy hair journey in Dec 08... so I have seen a little progress... but you guys ... WOW.... Time and patience pays off... I will be posting pics soon.... Can't wait until my big comparison pics in a year .....:yep::lick::grin:

I was transitioning here; you can see some NG. What you don't see it that all the relaxed strands had pretty much broken off in the middle.

Anyway, pics of my hair most recently in my siggy. Pics in my avi are from last year. I've been natural for just over 2 years.
