Hey,
Here's a snippet from her fokti that probably answers everyone's why question :
Transitioning 2008-2009 and LET ME CLEAR MY THROAT
Okay.

Let me get some things clear:
Yes, I was natural for 6 years.
Yes, I relaxed and oh yeah I am transitioning again.
No, I don't feel like it's a waste for me to relax after all of the years I was natural. No, I don't regret my decision to relax. As a matter of fact, I LURVES transitioning.
Yes, I've had long hair all of my life.
Yes, I am excited about having short hair *gasp* for the first time in my life and I am so over having long hair.

All this to say this to say- please don't be negative toward people who do things to THEIR hair that you don't approve of. Why is it in our community when someone with long hair cuts it off, we act like the world's coming to an end? This is one reason why I kept my hair long- because of others and their reactions to my hair, but now, I am FREE of others and their strange attachment to my hair. Hair today, hair tomorrow is truly a mantra for me. I've cut my hair so much during these few months of me being relaxed, that I just may cut it off sooner than expected, so please, don't have a cow, lol!

It's a shame she had to explain herself. :nono:

There is a blog "Black girl long hair."

She explains her position very well.

Sorry I'm not one for posting links:blush:

Good blog, nonetheless.

Bubln, what did I miss!!!!!

I wouldn't call it a waste at all. This is all part of the hair journey...in the end the point is OUR HAIR GROWS. She's transitioned before so she knew exactly what it would take if she decided she wanted to go back to natural, and she was cool with it. Happy Transitioning!

The issue folks have is that most are trying to get to long hair status and then when someone decides to start over it shocks everyone. People get the same reaction when they cut their relaxed hair to go natural.

I don't see her decision as a waste because at the end of the day its her hair. She has to deal with it not us. Her hair is gorgeous either way but ofcourse I like the natural hair best and thats just my opinion everyone has one.

Im excited for her and at least she knows what to expect from her natural hair. It will be a fun journey for her. I wish her the best.

She said don't have a cow LMAO!!!

OMG this part made me crack up too "I am FREE of others and their strange attachment to my hair." Oh dayum she called me out, I am a big fan of her hair LOL

I love her hair both ways...its definitely drool-worthy. I want to transition and I think her fotki helped me decide.

Wow, I didn't even know she had relaxed!!! (I miss out on a lot around here!)

I think the only people that get their panties in a wad about what people do with THEIR hair are people that don't know what their own hair can do. She's done the relaxed thing, the natural thing, and I'm sure everything in between so she knows what her hair is capable of. As she said, it's just hair - it will grow.

Good luck on your transition!

BB

I like how she cleared her throat, lol...

Unfortunately I can't see "all" pics at work so I can only imagine what it looks like. I swear this board makes me wanna go natural...

Yeah I remember her contemplating on transitioning shortly after relaxing I believe frizz played a big part in her transitioning so soon. Either way she has gorgeous hair.

I remember the thread about her getting a relaxer...didn't know who she was but the whole time I was thinking "err why would she even consider that when her natural hair looked the way it did" so I guess now gotta start all over gonna be hard she had bsl natural hair I think unstretched.

I'm a transitioning addict and maybe she is too. I've been on this board four years. I relax, transition, relax, transition. I love the process. Maybe I'm just stretching. I love her hair either way. I lurve versatility. In the end hair don't make you, you make your hair. Beauty is fixed.

Bublinbrnsuga did have a lot of beautiful natural hair! I'm glad she's going back to natural. I wonder if she'll be coming back though. I will follow her on her journey back to natural.

I wouldn't say it was a waste but I am pretty sure no one can answer that but her. I think she is going to do an early BC.

:look:

It's her hair, and if she doesn't see it as a waste, I can't righteously call it a waste - for her. She's doing what she likes with her hair, and in the end, that what we are all here for and what the hair journey is really all about.

That said.......

If it was my hair, I know what I would be calling it and where I would be kicking self.

If you search her posts she posted an update thread recently. She chopped a while ago and had her 1 year nappiversary a few weeks ago
