I, too, am a type 4 natural that is thinking about switching from flexis to curlformers.

But, I need to hear some opinions before I buy.

The back of my hair is a bit past midback length when stretched. It shrinks a little past my shoulders when unstretched. I am wanting to get the faux bob look (around chin length) without cutting my hair.

Do you all think I can fit my hair in the short curlformers if I wet my hair down real good first?
Or do the long ones have enough force in them to make my hair curl up to chin-length?

Any input is appreciated. Anyone who has done curlformers on wet hair- feel free to chime in.

Thanks!

I usually get te curlformers when I have a coupon from allys I think 15 percent off 20 dollars or more. so I usully get two packs at a time depending onhow much money I have. I have pics in my fotki of curlformers and magnetic roller sets..

Hmm, this is a good thread. I haven't attempted to rollerset my hair in months since it did NOT go well last time. :nono: I may give it a try again next week utilizing some of the tips in this thread.

I did a rollerset with curlformers tonight to see how they would come out with just using a leave-in, coconut oil and shea butter.

Not bad. What do you do with your hair afterwards. Like how am I going to work. I'm 36, not 6.

I'm a natural 4a/b

WHOA thanks, Gin!

Wow I'm feeling inspired to try. Eons ago I did a few and looked like Shirley Temple (this was pre-hair knowledge). I like the idea of wrapping it after it's curled and going back under the dryer. Hmmm..
