Rollersetting Question

I am a newbie relaxer (tomorrow makes 2 weeks). I get my hair washed weekly and I rollerset and go under the bonnet dryer to dry. At nights I also roller set my dry hair - I love the bouncy look that I get from doing this.

I am confused with the posts I have seen so far as I see persons talking about all sort of products. Do I need to use these products when rollersetting my dry hair at nights? Plz help me
