Do these hot combs have their own -dial- to turn the heat up or down? Do they work as good as regular hot combs?

I have bought the same one twice and returned both of them unopened. I think they had adjustable heat settings, I was too afraid to mess with it. The second time the cashier asked me why I was returning it. I said I changed my mind - I decided to keep my hair. She said good, because this WILL break your hair off.

This makes me kind of chuckle, because folk will know that they are selling you BS, and will still go on and make that commision, paycheck or whatever they get out of being forthcoming with the TRUTH.

--Back on topic: I use the hot comb on the stove I know..I know...but just for my edges. They be looking tore up, with my 5 month stretches.

I have one. I never broke off my hair but it doesn't get my hair as straight as a flat iron. Now I only use it for my edges because I can't get them straight with a flat iron for the life of me.

Yeah, that's how I was going to use mine. Does it get very hot?

Mine has degree settings on it and it ranges from 200 - 500 degrees (Fahrenheit).

I have one that is ceramic. My hair gets a little strait, but I need a flat iron to get it really strait.
