I don't, and I feel bad, because I know my hair isn't as good as it could be...but I can't really afford that right now.

My husband wanted one for our house but didn't want to shell out thousands of dollars for one. He was able to get one from Culligan for about $50 a month, essentially renting/leasing it.

why don't you try using a water filter/filtered water or distilled water then? I hear vinegar rinses work for some people too.

Almost all houses in Bermuda use purified rain and/or well water. SO I don't have to do anything to my water. I consider myself blessed in that regard.

No but I am shopping online for one right now.

ETA: Just purchased a WaterStick

You could dilute your shampoo with distilled water, that should help some. And yes to ACV, even if your water is soft/purified.

I forgot I made this post! Man, how time flies.

I ended up getting a shower filter, and it works wonderfully! Thanks for all of the input, everyone! :)

no the ones I looked at are expensive, but I really need to consider one and a filter whatever clears up this yucky nj water, it's caused my hubby to have dry scalp, when we were still in nyc where the water is normal I never saw him with a flake, I beg him to come out here with me now his hair is the worst :(, only coconut oil gets rid of the mysterious flakes.

OMG WOW!! I never thought this thing would make such a difference! My water feels almost silky. I cannot even think if a better word. It feels like showering in cream, or silk. I cannot wait to wash may hair in it.
