are you ladies using it alone or to seal with b/c i've been trying to deal with some very dry ends lately by baggying with my motions moisturizer...but i may try this since it seems to be so good...
I didn't know you could cook with it. I have the NOW kind from the health food store. It's virgin coconut oil. I really like it.![]()
I use this one.

It says fairly liquid in my bathroom. I put it in an old Doo Gro applicator bottle so I can use only a little at a time.
I didn't know it was a heat protectant... It's a great moisterizer
I gotta try it in my smoothies!
I like it mixed with olive oil on my hair. a winning combination!
eh..
Just discovered my hair like this combo much better than coconut oil alone.... Since it is more liquid i used much less.... I am very heavy handed![]()

i have spectrum coconut oil and i love it. it makes my hair shine and soft. but right now im using hairveda's cocasta oil. i was thinking of mixing a little coconut oil in it.
do you think i should? or would that mess the cocasta oil up?
With using coconut oil as a pre-poo, or with deep conditioning, are you ladies mixing it with regular conditioner? Do you have to melt it first? Does it need to be kept in the fridge? Is it on to use on relaxed hair?
Thanks Ladies!!

I use it alone - as a hot oil treatment.... and I mix it in all my condishes...
Do you have to melt it first? sometimes - yes sometimes no... it melts easily
Does it need to be kept in the fridge? Nope
Is it on to use on relaxed hair? - I am natural - But when I flat ironed - I never saw anything as Fabulous as Coconut oil on Straight hair.... it was an OMG moment for me.
BTW - LOVEyour hair!
I use the coconut oil from Walmart in the vitamin section - I have been using on my hair as well as my little ones...I am using it as a prepoo and it is great - never would I have ever thought about putting "oils" in my fine hair as I was concerned about it "weighing it down" but it has made it stronger - definitely more shiny...(I think)

I have to say thank you to the ladies that rave about unrefined coconut oil! My inquiring mind REALLY wanted to try it after I read Irresistible's comments about the stuff.
I LOVE that stuff! I waited for 6 wks before posting this message to see if what I was feeling was true. I was a little thrown off by the price (like $9 at whole foods); I was thinking that's a bit much for some kitchen oil!But anyway, it's some good stuff.
Question for the ladies that use it... does it soften your texture? I used it as a pre-poo last night (kind of like hot oil treatment) then shampooed my hair as usual, DC with my ORS pack, and prepped for flat ironing. My hair was so moisterized and my new growth (8 months worth) was super soft!
I love coconut oil too and I get mine from a whole foods store here in the Bahamas. It smells divine and feels awesome on my fine strands, makes it feel really soft and silky. I was adding it to my ayurveda co-washes but now I think it's too precious to be used that way. I think Ima start using it on my skin now too.
