A sorta Sexy Story.....:lachen:

So DH came home and said that he was super itchy.. he has very sensitive skin!!!

I made him jump in the shower..... use Castile... and then while he was wet - I gave him a mix of coconut oil - and a few drops of tea Tree and Peppermint oil...

He slathered on while damp...

and his skin was SUPER DUPER Soft!!!!:lick::lick:

Hope this was not too graphic girls!!!:blush: It is a family Show! Any how - it works like crazy on Bodies!!!

I've just become a lover of coconut oil as well. I mix it with evoo and use it as a sealant. I also use it as a moisterizer when I straigthen my hair as it's the only thing that I've found that won't cause my hair to revert.

I use the coconut oil from Walmart in the vitamin section - I have been using on my hair as well as my little ones...I am using it as a prepoo and it is great - never would I have ever thought about putting "oils" in my fine hair as I was concerned about it "weighing it down" but it has made it stronger - definitely more shiny...(I think)

AND YOUR HAIR IS SO PRETTY!!!! That is awesome, I may buy that brand next time- much cheaper.

Honey it was okay because believe it or not I may NEED this lil oil mix for my hubby who asks for a back scratching EVERY SINGLE NIGHT :wallbash::lachen:I love him so I spoil him, can't help it.

I too love coconut oil! I have started putting it on my face after I wash my face as a moisturizer. At night I put it on the bottom of my feet while I am in the bed, and every day I run some through my hair.
I went to visit my grandson today and he had alot of dry skin on his scalp,(only 2 months old) so I went into the kitchen and put some good ole coconut oil on his scalp!

Coconut oil is most definitely a winner, on my hair gives incredible shine whilst sealing in moisture, on skin - banishes ashiness for hours and hours, LOL!!

I use this one.

It says fairly liquid in my bathroom. I put it in an old Doo Gro applicator bottle so I can use only a little at a time.

I just got some of this. I can already tell that it's going to be super moisturizing, just hope I don't end up walking around smelling like the kitchen!

i was counting up all the ways i will use coconut oil when i buy it...i forgot all about prepooing. THANK YOU FOR THIS POST...someone preaches about coconut oil like every week but i always discover new and exciting ways to justify buying it. yessssss

OMG I am a spell checker too...this one chic sent me a nasty email last week, so I've been chillin out on it lately! :spinning:...anyway, what was the length of your hair when you started and when is the last time you had a relaxer?

Well add me to the chorus of voices praising this stuff. I use Spectrum as well. It smells do dagone good. I put some in a little container and add a drop or two of vanilla, just for kicks. OMG it smelled so good!

I purchased this from the vitamin shoppe....but I am not in LOVE with the smell....I guess I was so use to all that old B&B grease that had coconut "fragrance" so I have been fooled all these years...:lachen:

Just started using it...used it as a pre-poo and it made my new growth, really soft, except for this darn NAPPY NAPE AREA!!!!:wallbash:

I am going to use this on my teenaged daughter's scalp and hair while she transitions in braids!!!!! This is definitely a keeper

you might try this after your next wash/rinse:
get some Porosity Control Conditioner (usually at BBS or Sally's) & put more on ends...then

rinse out after about 30min (not just 30seconds like the bottle says)...and put some coconut oil throughout your hair, making sure you pull the oil down to the ends of hair shaft...cover you hair w/plastic bag for a few more min, then let your hair air dry...

hope that works:drunk:

are you ladies using it alone or to seal with b/c i've been trying to deal with some very dry ends lately by baggying with my motions moisturizer...but i may try this since it seems to be so good...

coconut oil has made my hair feel like butter i use it for everything in my hair and my hair has thanked me every step of the way :yep:

I mix coconut oil and EVOO for my hot oil treatments or in my pre-poo. My hair has made a complete turnaround for the better!! :yep:

I have to say thank you to the ladies that rave about unrefined coconut oil! My inquiring mind REALLY wanted to try it after I read Irresistible's comments about the stuff.

I LOVE that stuff! I waited for 6 wks before posting this message to see if what I was feeling was true. I was a little thrown off by the price (like $9 at whole foods); I was thinking that's a bit much for some kitchen oil! :look: But anyway, it's some good stuff.

Question for the ladies that use it... does it soften your texture? I used it as a pre-poo last night (kind of like hot oil treatment) then shampooed my hair as usual, DC with my ORS pack, and prepped for flat ironing. My hair was so moisterized and my new growth (8 months worth) was super soft!

Best thang since indoor plumbing! It softens and moisturizes my hair like no other. I did a prepoo on damp hair w/ coconut oil, evoo & deep condish...saran wrapped for a few hours or overnight...BUTTER!!!!!!! Was only doing it once a week, but I am upping that to 2x a week! I am 28 weeks post and look like I relaxed last week! LOVE COCONUT OIL! I bought the 365 brand from Whole Foods for $5.89.

FAMUDva,

I love it myself, and like the other ladies works wonders on the skin. STOPS aging in its tracks too. Try mixing it with shea butter for a winter moistuzing effect for winter on the skin. Try it in the hair also. Both are great for hair and skin.

My skin has a glow to it from using coconut oil.

Since you are dealing with dryiness, continue with the sealing method. But it is still good to use alone, esp. if you got your hair down and don't want to weigh it down with too much product. Coconut oil by itself is a safe way to go. Massage the scalp with it at night, and put a little on the ends.

I bought a jar of coconut oil about 2 weeks ago and haven't used it.. I don't know why, I feel soo foolish! I'm on my way to using it now!!

Don't feel bad, I had mine for almost a year and just popped it open a few weeks ago! LOL

I bought this stuff and had no idea that it would be good for new growth. I still am rocking my press from Groove 492 that I got 4 weeks ago, and the new growth is HORRENDOUS!!!!! I will try to use the cocnut oil when I pincurl my hair at night......

I'm so glad you said this. I'm struggling with NG now. I use coconut oil to seal the length of my hair but don't really go down into the NG because someone on a thread was talking about how CO has a drying effect on the scalp. I'm going to work some into my NG tonight.

Oh, and I LOVE the coconut smell SO much!!

I do! it's great for shine and softness, I use on top of my leave in and mix with dc's:yep:
If there's a Whole Foods or a natural food store near you see if they carry it, where I get mine.
