I know its rare but if you have curls that are the same size, can I see your pictures?

TIA

Ugh! Thank you for starting this thread. This has been in the back of my mind for months. I am 4a with some big patches of 3c and I can not achieve a uniform look without doing a braidout. I'm thinking I might need to start using gel to be able to have it look uniform.

I'll be awaiting the replies.

Ditto with Flowerhair.
I have also noticed that my hair behaves differently from day to day.
Some day it's a big ol frizzball and other days it curls up nicely

only when its wet lol. but nope i have coily 3c/4a at the very front and very back. and wavy 3c everywhere else

I wish... :ohwell: I think everybody has at least 2 textures. The differences have become much more noticeable as my hair grows out.

I love your hair. Are you still going to relax?

Thank you! I decided not to for right now. My stylist sounded like he knew what he was doing according to LHCF standards for a texturizer but I decided to pass. I might revist the idea again when I make 3 years natural in Sept if it's still shrinking ridicuously. :wallbash: But I seriously doubt it. I got a trim last week and she said it was soft and I've been doing a good job taking care of it so I was excited. That means all my hard work wasn't in vain. The last time she saw it was in April of 08 for my last trim. She's not my regular stylist but I think I'm going to start going to her regularly. She does a better job with straightening and overall handling/maintenance than my regular stylist. She costs a little bit more but she's also close to my house and job.

But it's doing well and finally starting to grow out. All my highlights are finally gone/cut out. I haven't really had any problems with it these past 2.5 years. No tangling, dryness, knots, etc. It blows straight pretty easy. I'm afraid that if I go back to the chemicals all my progress and health might go down the tube. Or I might not like it. It might be too straight or not curl up anymore. I don't want to have to BC and start all over again. I'm just gonna leave it alone for now. :yep:

Thanks! It looks thick? Wow... I've been trying to figure out how to get it to look full for forever. :wallbash: I'm sending you a PM now.

OK! What are you doing to your hair girl?!
My hairs' a little anti-social and likes to be left alone. lol. So i resort to only co-washing it/detangling it everyday and then let it do its thing. Its been thriving ever since ive adapted the minimal approach to hair care:)

I think my coils are uniform. Of course from afar it all looks like a mass of wool but close up, you can see the uniform pen springs throughout. Here are a few photos showing this:

ETA: Next time I wear my hair out, I'll have someone take texture shorts of every zone of my head. I think I have it all the same.

I have 3b hair at the nape, behind my ears, and at the front of my head, 3c all over, and 4a in the crown of my head......

Gel is the only thing that makes my curls look a bit more uniformed.....and BS takes away of my 4a frizzies....
