I used Lustrasilk Shea butter cholesterol conditioner last night.
That stuff impressed the hell out of me!
I won't be buying Aveda DR conditioner anymore.

HIT:

Qhemet Biologicx IndianIndian Macassar - Conditioning Hair Oil- Conditioning Hair Oil

I raved about this last month but I had to post again. This oil is really great.

I want to try this conditioner so bad but the price is deterring me. I may use some of my left over Christmas savings to buy it.

Cocopuff, check out ebay or amazon, they have amazing deals sometimes. That's where I purchased my duo for $31 (full sized) with free shipping. Yeah it's expensive but it's very concentrated so a little goes a long way.

Hit: Queen Helene Cholesterol
Had this in my stash (I keep a few DCs on hand) for months and decided to try it today. My hair is so soft and moisturised:yep:. Glad I tried it.

HIT:

-LaVida Given By Nature/Ginger Juices & Berries Hairdress...I am always on the search for a good grease and this was nice. Lot's of ayurvedic oils. Not too greasy yet it kept my NG moisturized. Expensive as hell though!

-My HoneyChild/Sophia's Old Fashioned Hair Grease...Good stuff, all natural, doesnt leave a residue on my scalp, gives shine...i got the 4oz sample size...smells kind of peachy...wasnt too fond of the smell yet it doesnt smell bad.

-My HoneyChild/Aloe Vera Leave-in...this felt sooo good when i put it through my hair and did my rollerset. Made detangling easy. Smells good...got a 4oz sample size.

Miss:

-HairVeda Whipped Cream...on WET hair. Hair started shedding A LOT...was using this as a leave-in to rollerset and noticed extreme shedding...couldnt figure out what it was for a while...works much better on my DRY hair.

HIT: Joico Moisture Recovery.....I may just be giving up my beloved Dominican conditioners....This stuff is tha BOMB!!!!

HIT: Paul Mitchell supper skinny serum....Excellent!

Hit: Using a mixture of yogurt, coconut cream and coconut oil as a natural relaxer. This stuff tamed my NG quite well..the last pic in my siggy shows results. My hair is VERRRRRY thick and this helped to lay it down for the holidays. I am almost 10 weeks post in the pic. As a matter of fact my hair is still pretty tame.
Now that I think about it, I'm due for a relaxer on 1/17.....hope it won't turn into a "Miss"once the chem's. go in :perplexed....I don't want it to be overprocessed....:ohwell:

Any advice HAIRexperts?

HIT: Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1. It left my hair very moisturized for at least 2 days. It made my hair so soft. I also used it to lay down some unruly edges. Great product for the price:)

Please explain.

I cannot seem to master them. I always have some kind of dents in my pin curls. The ends are cute, but up along the strands, it looks a mess. I had to put half of my hair up and have the other have down to conceal it today at work. I want them to work! This is the second time trying them and using a different technique. I'm going to hang in there until I get this right!

big fat hit: revisiting carols daughter hair balm as a moisturizer. it is fab. the ingrediants are great except for the beezwax which doesnt bother me but this stuf is amazing during the winter.

Hit: GVP (Joico) K-Pak. I finally found the last required piece for my regime.

Miss
: AO Honey Suckle Rose conditioner:nono:. Left my hair brick hard.

Big miss: Hairveda Whipped Cream. Hate it. No moisture, just coated waxy hair. I do love the smell tho.

Hit: Hairveda Green Tea butter-I like the smell. and it leaves my hair soft. Love it on damp ends.
Hairveda Almond Glaze- Really makes my hair soft and shiny

On the fence-Hairveda Sitirnillah-I think it leaves my hair soft cause after I pre poo with it, it feels really nice, but I need to use it more to really determine if its good or not. I am going to use this on dry hair as a co wash and see what happens.

ETA: Hit: Sitrinillah. Leaves my hair soft and moisturized. I will be buying this in the future.

Really? You think Lustrasilk is as good as Aveda DR? I love, love DR but would love to find something a lot cheaper. Are the ingredients as good??

HIT Hair One Olive Oil Cleansing Cream. Big Hit (but still wanting to try WEN)

Continued HIT Redken Real Control Shampoo & Condition. I'm 18 weeks post and it handles my new growth lovely.

MISS Silicon Mix conditioner--a greasy non moisturizing mess.

Hits:
1. henna/indigo (thickness)
2.Joico DPR/Hydrolizer(protein/moisture)
3.Suave Humectant w/1T baking soda for CW
4.Sabino Moisture Block(flat ironing)

Misses: I can't remember... I move on w/the quickness if a product doesn't work

Hit: KBB Hair Cream in Island Spice :yep:. This scent is pretty light and actually one of the men's fragrances :look:. A guy @ work threatened to jump me in the elevator because I smelled so good and all I had on that was scented is the hair cream. Wait, ain't that sexual harassment???

Yes I really do.
I do still like (love) Aveda DR but I found something that does a much better job at detangling/moisturizing for a lot less $$. I washed my hair 2 days ago and my hair is still soft despite the fact that I've only moisturized once since then....first time that's ever happened.

I would definitely recommend at least trying it, especially since it's only $2.50 for a 20 oz. jar.:yep:

Leave that man alone.

I think the comparison would have to be based on what you like each for. I don't think Lustrasilk, although my staple, gives my hair the same feeling.

On it own Aveda DR seems to seal in moisture more between washes. But it does not give me as much moisture and detangling and softness as Lustrasilk.

Again, I think it is what you are using it for.

:ohwell:I came in here to call AO Honeysuckle rose a hit as far as the softness in my hair is concerned. The smell is way too strong like sick to my stomach strong sweet smell.

Hits:

-Design Essentials Nutriment RX Creme Hairdress (for ends)
-Design Essentials Herbal Complex 4 (for scalp itchies)

It's been a while but I've used both products before. I believe that both contain new ingredients if I'm remembering the ingredients lists of the previous versions of the products correctly. I like the new versions better.

-Carol's Daughter Hair Milk, I haven't used this product in a long time. I bought a new bottle from Sephora and I loved it on my 25 plus weeks post new growth before I got a touch-up. It's a keeper for now.
