If I use it on soaking wet hair, I can kiss my hair goodbye. It's better on my hair after I blow dry (I go over my hair with it to get my roots detangled and straight). I only use my Jilbere on wet hair.

ETA: I have the D3.

This is the main reason why I dont use this brush. Its way too rough for my hair.

You have to know how NOT to tear through your hair with it... I use it in sections from the bottom up after detangling with a wide tooth comb.

There was a Denman thread up earlier this week, and several people mentioned it not working for them and ripping out their hair. I am one. :(

The tutorials are great, but everything doesn't work for everyone. :)

if i keep using it...it definitely will be damaging. Too many strands come out when i use it. But it does make my ends nice and straight after i brush it. But i stopped using it anyway

I couldn't use it while transitioning but now that my relaxed ends are gone I can use it without breakage.

The Denman killed my hair. I used it wet and in sections and my hair would get caught in the base of the brush. I noticed way more split ends in my hair when I started using this than when I was using my nylon bristle brush. The only time it did anything for my hair was when I blow dried and flat ironed and seeing that, that is a rare thing it was pointless for me to continue using it. If i can find it I'm going to switch over to the Kakakiki (sp?) Komb. I used it a few years back and don't know why I stopped.

I like my brush. You should NEVER brush wet hair anyway! I only use it to wrap my hair or to brush the the sides for a ponytail.

I think I'm going to hide it deep deep in the closet of
hair tools that I can't use anymore...

I was anti- brush until I found out about the Denman...

but now I think I'm going to return to my anti-brush roots...

I might use it every couple of month but definitely weekly or daily.

I am noticing split ends and I hardly ever use heat...

I went a whole year without trimming and don't have

ends as bad as I have now that I'm using the Denman...

I don't know if it's the Denman for sure, but I'm going to stop

using it for a couple of months and see what happens.

Well...

I have splits too and I use the Denman. Since I only see the splits at the ends of my hair and I have about 3-4 inches of heat damaged ends, I figure they've always been there.

Please say it isn't so

After I trim at some point this month, I'm switching back to my seamless bone comb for a bit to test this out.

I'm going to miss it though...

R.I.P. Denman...

So....what does this Jilbere comb look like?

I stopped using it when I saw how much hair was coming out of it... and yes, I used it properly. Didn't use it enough to get any noticeable damage.

Yalls must have much stronger hair than I do. Denman + Neith = :nono:

SOUTHERNTEASE YOUR SIGGY PIC IS AMAZING!!!

Somebody jacked both of my combs. Here's what it looks like. They sell without the hook also.

I'm still learning how to post pics. Here's a link to a picture.

You know Neith, I was actually thinking that tonight, as I was watching myself brush my hair with the Denman. I rarely detangle in the mirror, but I was this time, and I noticed that my hair was BENDING the bristles, and bending them pretty far, too, as I was brushing - and I thought - dang, but my hair is STRONG. And it wasn't even that my hair was 'tangled' so to speak - it was in love with itself, as it always is, but there were no real tangles.

I've never considered my hair strong, but maybe it is. *shrug*

When i was more texlaxed before my ends where stick straight. it would rip off my ends or stretch them. I no longer use it on my hair. it's great on my DD's hair she is natural. I think the brush is better for natural heads than relaxed or texlaxed. If i put that thing in my hair now i should just kiss it goodbye.

the denman has worked wonders for me, but my 4a hair is super thick, dense, and any other adjective you can think of. i have hardly any hair in the brush...but i only use it on wet hair loaded w/ conditioner, in sections, and starting from the bottom. i'm able to go thru my forrest of hair with no problems. i can see though how it could be too much for fine hair.

Co-sign. I know others who say it's used for detangling, but I'm 4a and it's just not happening. I detangle with a wide tooth comb and now only use it for smoothening the curl (to air dry, or before pony setting to get a silkier result w/ the products I use). And I HARDLY use it for that either because I don't want to mess up my hair!!!!!

I was going to get the denman but I read good things about the Goody brush that's infused with Jojoba oil. I'm not sure if the bristles are really infused with oil, but I heard it causes less snags than the denman and when I saw it at Wal-Mart it looked like it was made differently. It seems like its made in a way that the hair won't get caught. If you're not completely ready to get rid of your brush you may want to try that one.

Now this brush i have thanks to a nice youtube vid by a member here. That brush is a godsend.

Me and my denman will never be parted. I own a D4

These days I may see 1-2 hairs in the thing but there's times (usually seasonal changes) that I shed a handful a day. Whatever, I'm not bald so its no biggie to me.

I use it like I would a fine toothed comb. I make 1-2 passes, thats it. More isn't needed. I see more hair in my comb than I do my brush.

I use the denman as the finisher so to speak, even on wet hair (I wet bun nearly every day). even at 12 weeks post I can use it(most of the time:look:)

I only use my denman about once or twice a month, when I'm doing my monster detangling session. I couldn't use it everyday I would freak out at how much hair I was loosing and then I really don't like the shrinkage it gives me.

Once I learned how to use it properly, I didn't have any problems. I don't use mine that often though. Sometimes I use on wash day and some times I don't. I don't really get tangles so it's not really necessary.
