Why waist length? Part II

I like waist length or longer because when I wear it curly it doesn't look as short. If i wore my hair straight all the time mid back/bra strap would probably be cool but with shrinkage bra strap is more like neck.

Cuz...It freakin cool! lol j/k To me it just seems like such a beautiful length. I just dream of having that extra long ponytail an being all nonchalant like..yea it's mine :gorgeous: lol I also would like it that length because of the shrinkage. Nobody reallys sees the length unless I straighten it but I want it to look long when its curly too.

I really wanna just see for myself if i'm able to grow my hair to that length. If it's too much i'll cut it to midback, but for now i wanna see am i capable of growing it that long.

People are born with BSL hair. Well not born with but hey I've seen plenty of black women walkin around with BSL hair...now African American waist length hair? That's rare. It shows that I worked for it and took care of it. And it looks so durn good. Just call me Rapunzel!!

Like most, I just want to see if I can do it. I'm also on a mission to prove that relaxed AND bleached hair can be healthy, long and flattering on AA women. Many seem to think it's not possible. :perplexed

I want it because it's a length I've never had before. And you don't see too many BW walking around with REAL waist length hair.

Its something I've always wanted, always admired. I'm finally feeling like I have the tools to get to that goal. My guess is that I'll get there around the fall of 09.

In the meantime i enjoyed my nape length hair, shoulder length hair, APL, now BSL. I loved all the stages.

Because it's a fun length. Because I think it will look great on me...if I get there and it's too much, I'll chop it to a length that does look good on me. So it's not about other people. I just like it for me.

You don't see many people period walking around with waist or hip length hair. Everyone agrees that it's long. Plus it's a length I never even considered as a possibility until I got on this board.

because i never had indisputably long hair. i would like to see what it feels like.

Because I dont think I'll ever accept that I have really long hair until I reach WL.

Ditto. Initially I was aiming for bra-strap but now that I'm there it somehow doesn't seem as long, so now its on to waist length.

Hey Butterfly08, I like the new s/n! :yep:
No. I'm not there yet, but I'm trying to get there.
That pic in my siggy was taken in August and right after that I had it braided up. You know, out of sight out of mind thinking.
So in January when I do a length check maybe I'll get there by then.

I prettymuch agree w/what these ladies have said. Mainly I want WL hair b/c prior to LHCF it wasn't even a thought. Sure I was a Wanakee follower but still I didn't know of many AA women who had real WL hair. After being on here, I def know that WL is possible & simply put I want 2 be a member of the club!

Eventhough i believe i have always been "good" to my hair...I always trimmed a lot so since i have beetween bsl and apl always it would be nice to see.....

then trim it! back to bsl unless i like it:lachen:

I think it is mostly to PROVE that it can be done. But I believe it can so I'm not trying! I don't think that I could handle that amount of hair. But a good midback length would be perfect for me.

Why not? My goal is waist length but for some reason I was thinking hip length was actually waist length. I think waist length is long enough any more than that then it might be a bigger hassle.

I know I want WL because I want to be able to put my hair in a medium pony tail and my hair still be able to touch my shoulders...

^^^ :yep::yep::yep: BSL hair is getting to be so common. I'm not impressed by that at all anymore.

WSL, TBL, and HL are where it's at!:yep:

Because when I have longer hair that's past shoulder or APL, I actually take better care of it! LOL I'm too lazy to use heat and all that stuff. Definitely a wash n' go typre. Plus, I want to see myself at waist length... and get those stares!

My hair has NEVER reached a little past my shoulders. Now that I have the hair boards and VERY encouraging ladies to support me and give me wonderful advice I am going to be claiming apl, bsl, mbl and finally my ultimate goal wl hair in the next years to come. I would LOVE to see my hair reach wl ultimately. I want to be able to make a great full bun, wear my hair curly and it still looks long,I want my ponytail to turn w/ my head..lol! I also want to prove to everyone that said I can't I can!
